Disparagingly referred to as "Clickers," the robots grow more intelligent and human-like. To stop their evolution and to preserve their own rule, a fanatical group called The Order of Flesh and Blood is created. Are the robots really man's enemy or his last hope for survival?

War Between the Planets

While Out and About today I picked up...

Hatchet II
| Year: 2010 | 85 Min.| IMDb

HATCHET II picks up right where the original Hatchet ends, as the quiet but resilient Marybeth (Danielle Harris, the Halloween franchise) barely escapes from the clutches of bayou maniac Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder, the Friday the 13th franchise), who has already slaughtered Marybeth's family and entire swamp boat full of New Orleans tourists. Upon learning her own family's ties to Victor Crowley from local Louisiana charlatan Reverend Zombie (Tony Todd, the Candyman franchise), Marybeth returns to the swamp with a team of hired guns to exact her revenge, but quickly discovers that not even an army of hunters can stand up to the fury and bloodlust of the legendary Victor Crowley.

The unrated HATCHET II serves up a ferocious and exceptionally gory dose of splatterific entertainment with groundbreaking practical make-up effects, a wildly twisted sense of humor, and an even darker and bloodier ride than the first film. Hold on to your pieces!

Ultimate Avengers Collection
| Year: 2006 | 144 Min.

Ultimate Avengers The Movie
Inspired by Marvel's best-selling books, "The Ultimates," this is the extraordinary story of six very independent heroes whi, like it or not, must fight as one to save the world.

Ultimate Avengers 2
To save humanity, the Earth's mightiest heroes must reunite for a rematch of heroic proportions. When brutal alien invaders attack mysterious Wakanda, the Black Panther must ask for help from the Ultimate Avangers.

Category 7: The End of the World / 10.5 Apocalypse
| Year: 2005 | 341 Min.

Category 7: The End Of The World
As a deadly Category 6 storm descends upon the Earth, unleashing violent winds, hurricane force pressure, and devastating tornadoes, officials scramble to pinpoint the cause. Though global warming is suspect, beautiful but discredited scientist Faith Clavell (Shannen Doherty—Mallrats, TV's Charmed) realizes that something else is triggering the extreme weather. Teaming up with storm chaser Tommy Tornado (Emmy nominee Randy QuaidBrokeback Mountain, Elvis) and Judith Carr (Gina GershonSinatra, Face/Off), head of FEMA, Faith realizes they must enter the storm itself if they hope to stop it. While the country is at its most vulnerable, the government becomes aware that it is the target of a terrorist organization. Now, it's not only man against nature, but man against man as an intensified Category 7 approaches.....

10.5: Apocalypse
A massive 10.5 quake tears apart the West Coast, triggering an unrelenting series of natural disasters that threaten to turn the American landscape into a hellish wasteland. Seismologist Samantha Hill (Kim Delaney, TV's Army Wives) sees an even greater threat: an ever widening fault line that's heading for the country's two largest nuclear reactors. As the rumbling fault line continues to grow, Samantha races to find the one scientist who predicted this would happen years ago - and who can save millions from the ultimate nuclear apocalypse.

Captain America
| Year: 1990 | 97 Min.| IMDb

Long ago, Steve Rogers (Matt Salinger) was a true American hero, a brave super soldier created by scientists to help the Allied Forces fight for freedom in World War II. But during a battle with the sinister Red Skull (Scott Paulin), he was lost, entombed in ice. Decades later, his body has been found and revived and Steve must again don the mantle of Captain America to help save the President of the United States (Ronny Cox) – and the world – from his arch-nemesis once and for all.

For the first time, director Albert Pyun's cult classic is presented in widescreen and in astonishing high-definition!

Received three Twilight Time blu-rays from Screen Archives today:

High Time
UPC 851789-003276 | United States 1960 | 103 minutes | Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Twilight Time

Directed by Blake Edwards (The Pink Panther), Bing Crosby stars in High Time (1960) as a middle-aged restaurant tycoon who decides to go back to college, discovering that youth is less a matter of years and more a matter of zest. Among the fellow students helping him find his way: heartthrob of the moment Fabian, fetching co-ed Tuesday Weld, and ideal roomie Richard Beymer. Featuring a score by the great Henry Mancini (available here as an isolated track), and introducing a Crosby-warbled standard, Sammy Cahn and James Van Heusen's immortal "The Second Time Around."

Fright Night
UPC 851789-003122 | United States 1985 | 106 minutes | Twilight Time, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment

Fright Night (1985), writer/director Tom Holland's homage to classic horror films, stars Chris Sarandon as the suave vampire next door and Roddy McDowall as the washed-up actor turned vampire killer who attempts to thwart the ambassador of evil's designs on a peaceful suburban enclave. This cult favorite features superb visual effects from a team headed by Richard Edlund (Ghostbusters) and Randall Cook (The Lord of the Rings), and is presented here with an isolated score track by composer Brad Fiedel.

Man Hunt
UPC 811956-020123 | United States 1941 | 102 minutes | Twilight Time

Director Fritz Lang's masterful Man Hunt (1941), made before the United States had entered World War II, is an unabashed call to arms disguised as an expressionistic thriller. It opens with a bang—or lack thereof—as celebrated hunter Alan Thorndike (Walter Pidgeon) draws a "sporting" bead on none other than Adolf Hitler, and promptly finds himself arrested by the Gestapo, led by the sinister Quive-Smith (George Sanders). When Thorndike escapes, the hunter becomes the hunted: pursued through London's back alleys and subterranean byways by a gang of ruthless Nazis, with only a love-struck girl of the streets (Joan Bennett) to help him.

Waiting for me when I got home from work last night...

Lethal Weapon Collection

| Year: 1987 | 476 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Lethal Weapon

Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) is no ordinary cop. He's a Mad Max gone maniacal, a man whose killing expertise and suicidal recklessness make him a Lethal Weapon to anyone he works against. Or with. Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) is an easygoing homicide detective with a loving family, a big house and a pension he doesn't want to lose. Imagine Murtaugh's shock when he learns his new partner is a guy with nothing left to lose: wild-eyed, burnt-out Martin Riggs. Lethal Weapon is the thrill-packed story of two Vietnam-vets-turned-cops who have just one other thing in common: both hate to work with partners. But their partnership becomes the key to survival when a routine murder investigation leads to all-out, take-no-prisoners, martial-arts-and-machine-guns war with an international heroin ring.

Lethal Weapon 2

Buddy-cops Martin Riggs and Murtaugh are back, trying to keep a key witness-and themselves-alive in Lethal Weapon 2. And exciting it is, from its breathless opening chase through L.A. streets to its raging gun-battle finale. In between, there's a six-story plummet from a window, a booby-trapped toilet, a Houdini-like underwater escape and the incredible destruction of a chic hillside stilt house.

Lethal Weapon 3

They're back in their most successful, most explosive, most hilarious smash hit yet. They come, they see, they kick butt in a caper that has LA police detectives Riggs (Gibson) and Murtaugh (Glover) ripping into a vicious crime ring dealing guns to the streets. Joe Pesci returns as shady ex-mob accountant Leo Getz, and Rene Russo ads a lethal kick as Internal Affairs investigator Lorna Cole, like Riggs a born risktaker. Risks are everywhere: a high-rise explodes into dust, a housing tract goes up like matchsticks, Riggs takes an 80-foot plunge on a motorcycle. Lethal Weapon 3 isn't just more of everything. It's the most!

Lethal Weapon 4

Pure dynamite! The Lethal Weapon team has done it again, putting the match to the fuse and putting the wow! back on the screen. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover return as buddy cops Riggs and Murtaugh, with Joe Pesci riding comedy shotgun as chatterbox Leo. Murtaugh is still the family man. Riggs is still the gonzo loose cannon and--what's this?--family man. His will he/won't he marriage to Cole (Rene Russo) is one of the new wrinkles in this powerhouse crowd-pleaser that also stars comedy favorite Chris Rock and international action star Jet Li. Wedding bells, ammo shells, explosive laughter–this one's fully loaded!?
