He Was a Quiet Man
| Year: 2007 | 95 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Christian Slater delivers what critics are calling the performance of his career as Bob Maconel, a bullied office drone with hate in his heart, voices in his head, and a loaded gun in his desk drawer. When a bizarre twist turns him into an instant hero, Bob begins a tender relationship with a disabled co-worker (an equally powerful performance by Elisha Cuthbert) who asks Bob for the ultimate favor. Can two damaged souls ever learn to live again or is the brink of madness still just a shot away? Oscar® nominee William H. Macy co-stars in this acclaimed cross between OFFICE SPACE and TAXI DRIVER that Screen International hails as "an excellent, unpredictable, often extremely witty film. Christian Slater is superb!"

This So-Called Disaster
| Year: 2004 | 89 Min.| IMDb

A "high-voltage Hollywood cast" (The Village Voice) including James Gammon, Woody Harrelson, Cheech Marin, Nick Nolte, Sean Penn, Sam Shepard and Sheila Tousey offers up an exclusive look into the rehearsal process in this riveting film created during the mounting of a Shepard play.

It's three weeks until Shepard's The Late Henry Moss opens at the Magic Theatre in San Francisco... and tensions are rising between Penn, Nolte and Harrelson. As sparks begin to fly between their characters, they set off a powder keg of emotions so explosive that the actors themselves are drawn into the fray.

Searching For Debra Winger
| Year: 2001 | 99 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Searching for Debra Winger is a thought-provoking documentary in which Golden Globe-nominated actress Rosanna Arquette talks to the film industry's most talented and award-winning actresses about the pressures they face as women working in show business.

Synecdoche, New York
| Year: 2008 | 124 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Oscar-winning writer* Charlie Kaufman's directorial debut, SYNECDOCHE, NEW YORK, "one of the best films of the year" (Manohla Dargis, The New York Times), follows the life of regional theater director Caden Cotard (Philip Seymour Hoffman) as he struggles with romantic relationships (Samantha Morton, Michelle Williams and Catherine Keener), as well as the problems of aging, and a mysteriously degenerative medical condition. He develops all this into a monumental theater piece. Building a full-scale replica of New York City inside an impossibly large warehouse and populating it with thousands of actors, Cotard spends the remainder of his life creating a piece so personal and epic in scope, that the line between reality and art collide, and the universe that he has created swallows up everything within it.

*2005 Original Screenplay Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Tara Road
| Year: 2005 | 100 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Marilyn Vine’s (Andie MacDowell) idyllic life in Connecticut is devastated by the tragic death of her only son Dale during his 15th birthday party. 3,000 miles away, Ria Lynch’s (Olivia Williams) marriage comes to a stunningly abrupt end in Dublin, Ireland, when husband Danny (Iain Glen) reveals that he is leaving her for his pregnant mistress, Bernadette (Heike Makatsch). An accidental phone call brings these two otherwise unrelated women together and, in their mutual need for space and time alone, they agree to a two-month house exchange. In swapping homes, both women slowly find healing and strength through new surroundings and the kindness of others and gradually learn to accept the reality of their changed lives.

Feast II: Sloppy Seconds
| Year: 2008 | 97 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

From the writers/director of Feast comes the next chapter in this new classic horror series. It's the morning after the initial attack and the nasty flesh-eating monsters are invading the nearby town. Those lucky enough to have survived the night join a twisted group of locals whose only goal is to stay alive – no matter the cost. Featuring a motley group of characters – including an all-girl biker gang and a tag team of ass-kicking Mexican wrestlers – Feast II: Sloppy Seconds serves up twice the blood, twice the body parts and twice the fun!

Feast III: The Happy Finish
| Year: 2008 | 77 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

What's even better than Sloppy Seconds? Feast III: The Happy Finish marks the return of the original film's writers/director and the third course in this blood-gushing, mutant-thrashing, stomach-churning comic horror series. The man-eating monsters are still hungry, and what's left of the human survivors - including Biker Queen, Bartender, and Lightning the wrestler - are running out of luck. That is until hope arrives in the form of a knife-wielding karate kid and a mysterious man who seem to be able to control the beasts. Loaded with horrors that will haunt your dreams, Feast III: The Happy Finish is non-stop, gross-out action with the mother of all endings!

I never seen this series of films... so looks like I will have to find a way to see part one first. :P

Sorry to say, I hated Feast II: Sloppy Seconds with a passion. I am not sure what it was anymore, but some of the content was extremely vile and it seemed they were just trying so hard to be shocking. Wonder what you will think. Based on that I never cared to even try out the third one, although that "return of the original film's writers/director" still has me curious.

I liked the original Feast a lot, even upgraded it to Blu-ray. Sure it also had it's shocking moments but it worked more like a complete story/film, not just a series of, well, vile moments.

Sometimes my friends like to torture me a little and add a musical in the package they sent me. I just found out this is happening again with the current package being made for me... I just found out I will be getting...

West Side Story
| Year: 1961 | 152 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

This "brilliant" ('The New Republic') film sets the ageless story of Romeo and Juliet against the backdrop of gang warfare in 1950s New York. Directed by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins and scripted by Ernest Lehman, the film combines Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's unforgettable score ("Maria", "America", "Somewehre", Tonight) with Robbins' own exuberant choreography to achieve an exhilarating "work of art" ('Saturday Review').

A love affair is fated for tragedy amidst the vicious rivalry of two street gangs - the Jets and the Sharks. When Jets member Tony (Richard Beymer) falls for Maria (Natalie Wood), the sister of the Sharks leader, it's more than these two warring gangs can handle. And as mounting tensions rise, a battle to the death ensues and innocent blood is shed in a heartbreaking finale.

The Kid Stays in the Picture
| Year: 2002 | 93 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Rules are made to be broken. And Robert Evans has broken them all. He was the first actor to ever run a major Hollywood studio. In a decade he took it from worst to first. Voted the world's most eligible bachelor, he was quintessential Hollywood royalty. In 1979, he had $11 million. With one mistake he spiraled south from legend to leper. In 1989, his worth was $37. Did he come back? Like a phoenix. His saga should inspire the most cynical. To quote Evans, "All my life I've lived on the edge and many times it came back to bite me. Was it worth it? You bet your ass it was." His outrageous story proves that, at times, fact is far stranger than fiction.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High
| Year: 1982 | 90 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Academy Award® winner* Sean Penn leads an all-star cast (Jennifer Jason Leigh, Phoebe Cates, Judge Reinhold) in this hilarious portrayal of a group of Southern California high school students and their most important subjects: sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Amy Heckerling's (Clueless) directorial debut brings to life first-time screenwriter Cameron Crowe's (Almost Famous) insider's view of teenage American life in the 1980s.

Featuring decade-defining music from The Go-Go's, Oingo Boingo and The Cars, plus film debuts of future stars Nicolas Cage, Eric Stoltz and Anthony Edwards, Fast Times at Ridgemont High remains as fresh and funny today as it was a generation ago when it defined the outrageous and bold teen comedy genre.

*2003, Best Actor, Mystic River.

Dazed and Confused
| Year: 1993 | 102 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

America, 1976. The last day of school. Bongs blaze, bell-bottoms ring, and rock and roll rocks. Among the best teen films ever made, Richard Linklater's DAZED AND CONFUSED eavesdrops on a group of seniors-to-be and incoming freshmen. A launching pad for a number of future stars, Linklater's first studio effort also features endlessly quotable dialogue and a blasting, stadium-ready soundtrack. Sidestepping nostalgia, DAZED AND CONFUSED is less about "the best years of our lives" than the boredom, angst, and excitement of teenagers waiting . . . for something to happen.
