See Marie I've watched Vampire Sucks (even two times :-[) and I'm 100% positive it's a better film than anything in the serie can be. I've read an extensive recap of the first one on the agony booth1 (before they went all youtube and lost my interest) and that was more than enough.

 :hangman7:

Didn't notice those new smileys before, so I must use one

1. I challenge anyone to read those 9 pages in one go

I have seen all the Twilight movies...and even read the books.  Vampires Sucks is better...and better adaptation of the first two books.  Two books in one movie.  No padding it with extra nonsense like the Twilight movies did, especially the last two.  The source material is practically a spoof to begin with..vampires that sparkle.  Please.

I think that is why I probably like the films more then some people do... as I never read the books so don't know the source material. Don't get me wrong... don't think they are great movies... wouldn't ever pay for any of the films (going by the first one). But found the first one watchable. I will probably even watch the first one again before I see the second one... just to refresh my memory.

I thought the books were pretty good as was the first movie. I haven't gotten around to the other films yet.

I'm easy to please though - I don't even mind sparkly vampires! Of course I don't think of them as sparkles - it just means vampire skin is different.  :tease:

I enjoy/enjoyed them also.  I had read the books before and didn't find that a problem for the films.  Each have to be 'viewed' on their own.  Twilight saga, like others, are basically teen-angst films.  Either like them or not :)
Thank you

Found out a friend is sending me a few classic films... ones she upgraded so she is sending me her old DVDs.

Mutiny on the Bounty
| Year: 1935 | 133 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

HMS Bounty sails for Tahiti by way of Cape Horn...and into movie lore as an American Film Institute Top-100 American Films selection. Grandly filmed, Mutiny on the Bounty captured the 1935 Best Picture Academy Award® and eight nominations total.* Charles Laughton portrays Captain Bligh, a seafaring monster ruling with the law of fear.

Solidifying his status as Hollywood's #1 male star, Clark Gable is first officer Fletcher Christian, whose will to obey erodes under Bligh's tyranny. And Franchot Tone plays idealistic midshipman Byam, torn by his allegiance to both. That all three portrayals are vividly memorable is accented by the fact that for the only time in Oscar® history, three stars from the same film were Best Actor nominees.

*Other Nominations: Best Actor (Gable, Laughton and Tone), Director (Frank Lloyd), Screenplay (Jules Furthman, Talbot Jennings and Carey Wilson), Film Editing and Score.

High Noon
| Year: 1952 | 85 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Gary Cooper won the Oscar® for the Best Actor in this classic tale of a lawman who stands alone to defend a town of cowardly citizens against a gang of revenge-seeking criminals. In the greatest showdown in the history of cinema, Cooper stands to lose not only the town but his new wife, Grace Kelly. The film also stars one of Hollywood's most beloved and prolific actors, Lloyd Bridges, and marks the first starring role for a beautiful young actress and internationally adored screen legend – Grace Kelly. High Noon garnered a total of four Academy Awards® including Best Editing, Score and Original Song.

The Bridge on the River Kwai
| Year: 1957 | 167 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

When British P.O.W.s build a vital railway bridge in enemy-occupied Burma, Allied commandos are assigned to destroy it in David Lean's epic World War II adventure THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI.

Spectacularly produced, THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI captured the imagination of the public and won seven 1957 Academy Awards®, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Alec Guinness), and Best Director. Even its theme song, an old WWI whistling tune, the "Colonel Bogey March," became a massive workdwide hit. THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI continues today as one of the most memorable cinematic experiences of all time.

She also said she was sending me the anime movie Origin: Spirits of the Past... but when I told Brittany I was getting it she claimed it for her own. :P So I told her I would send it to her once it arrives.
