On how Kate dealt with Dr. Psycho...hmmm.  Well maybe she was able to stab her or something at first, and that gave her time to free her other hand.  Something like that.  There would have been an adrenaline high too probably.

With the DNA stuff... I'm thinking 3XK switched out that tooth when he went back to see his "mother".  Remember she told Rick and the guys I think it was that he had come back a few years before and taken all sorts of stuff...but just happened to leave the tooth.  I think he switched it and I think he already had the plan to eventually steal all the evidence connected to him so he could start over.  He has shown that he can be a long term planner.  The tooth was backup, just in case he got picked up after the other evidence was gone and just in case they ever traced him back to his "mother".  Least that is my theory.

Oh I agree mostly .. i just by nature *suspend all disbelief* .. but this one seemed like it pushed it a bit
But all in all I really enjoy Castle and hope it continues as long as they can keep most of the episodes interesting .. and let Rick be a little kid

I've watched the last episodes, and i'm liking where things are going. But i'm worried that either this (S07) or next season will be the last one.
All the teasing about Kate wanting to try something different, start a family etc. What you think?
And Stana havent re-signed for a S08 yet. Lets just hope she does. Word is that Nathan has inked his new deal. And ABC is waiting for Stana.
AM is "leaving" and the new showrunner is leaving aswell. So IF everyone is on board for a S08, i think that would be the last season of the show
Early word is that ABC wants a new and final season.
Dont know what think this year. Whats your thougts?

Mondays was a good episode .. felt like some of the old writing that i love.  Talking over each other .. type of thing that made Grant and Russell so great in His Girl Friday.  And no Senator Bracken

Long time, no talk! Was good with a break   But over to the show. I'm up to date on the show. And even tho we all knew what was coming. Not sure if i liked how it all was done tho.

Matches my thoughts pretty much exactly.  Saw that happen and I was .well...WFT?  lol  I have not been happy with a lot of stuff this season so far. 

First of all, I have kept up with the show.  I kept meaning to come and post..work and stuff tied to work got nuts for a lot of this year.  I haven't done that much online at all this year.  But I'm back now. 

So...where to start here. 

End of season 7 was good overall I think.  The Hollander's Woods stuff was good and the way that last episode ended was good.  I had heard that Andrew and Terri were leaving, which caused me concern, but I tried to not..hmm..panic I guess, especially since the one new showrunner has been a writer since the first season.  Then the new season started and the huge stinking mess happened.  And yes that was a huge stinking mess.

I can be ok with some of what happened in the first 2 episodes, though why in the world Vikram would call up Kate out of the blue without knowing her, and why Kate would drop everything to meet a stranger, and even lie to Rick..I don't quite get.  Kate has NO connection to the AG's office anymore.  She didn't leave on good terms..she was fired.  But ok, whatever.  Rick suddenly has a stepmother?  Ummm...ok.  Again, whatever, but it seems very obvious to me that Rita was created to fill Jackson's role when they couldn't get Brolin because he has a new series.  It would have worked better with Jackson, though it sort of works.  Why Kate seemed surprised that there was someone else not in jail that was tied to Bracken seemed kind of odd.  We knew a few years ago that there were others higher up involved.  Heck, wasn't the higher up tied to that attempt on Bracken's life in season 5 when Kate saved him?  Because the higher up didn't like that Bracken was trying to do more of his own things..and the higher up didn't like that environmental thing Bracken was pushing.  Anyway, I can deal with them looking for someone else tied to Bracken.  Though it is kind of a here we go again kind of feeling.  They screwed up Rick's disappearance resolution - I don't care that he saved the world, that is NO justification for him being taken on the way to his wedding and everyone just seeing burning wreckage of a car.  Yes, I'm still irked about that.  I did read online that a lot of people were less than pleased with the explanation they came up with.  A lot of people were ...happier with Veritas, so it kind of seems like someone decided to just bring up stuff tied to Johanna's murder again since we liked it before. 

Kate leaving Rick with the stupid ass idea of protecting him is just..stupid.  Just because she wasn't living with him doesn't mean whoever this new big bad is wouldn't still go after Rick to try to keep Kate in line or something.  It is just a stupid ass idea.  And the showrunners claiming they did this to get back to the dynamic from earlier seasons - like 2 and 3 or something - is stupid.  They are married now, it is too late to go back.  And I don't want to go back to all that will they or won't they bullshit.  We already dealt with that.  There doesn't need to be all this angst and crap shoved into the relationship.  Let the drama come from the cases.  Yes I know relationships have some issues and stuff.  Fine.  Let them have some normal marital issues to work through TOGETHER without one up and deciding to run off, keep secrets, and do stuff alone.  Kate going off on her own is her reverting to old behavior.  I don't believe it is PTSD like some claim on the Castle board.  Yes some new issues tied to her mom's murder, ok, but issues don't automatically mean PTSD.  Argh. 

That whole separation crap made it hard to watch the episodes this season.  It was hanging over everything...especially in the 3rd and 4th episodes.  I haven't watched them again and honestly don't know that I ever will.  The showrunners claiming that we will appreciate the story in the end and go back and watch with new appreciation or whatever..ummm no.  I also didn't like that they kept saying just be patient it will be worth it in the end.  Unhuh...sure.  Just like last year with Rick's disappearance.  That worked so well.  I just couldn't care about the cases..stuff that I probably would have found funny I didn't. 

It got a bit better with The Nose - though Kate saying she wanted to get the last of her stuff was horrible.  Absolutely horrible.  And the ending...yes it was kind of sweet that she took his shirt and left him one of hers, but still.  Such a freaking mess.  But that woman with the sensitive nose was a hoot.  Not sure about Ryan shooting Esposito.  Yes it did make me laugh at the time..and Rick calling him Assposito.     But no immediate consequences..no investigation and all that.  Officer involved shootings don't get brushed off like that.  Yes I know it is just a tv show, but that did bug me a little.  I liked the episode with Slaughter.  He did sort of annoy me in Headhunters, but I liked him this time and how different things about him came out.  He studied theater and the ex wife stuff..and him cooking.  I also liked what he told Rick about the situation with Kate.

I like that Alexis is working with Rick.  It makes sense to me that she is good at it fairly quickly.  Hayley is ok, though not sure how much to trust her .. though I trust her more than Vikram.  Something more seems to be going on there.  And how he was acting in the last 2 episodes...trying to keep Kate from even having dinner with Rick..sending the lie text about a new lead to get her away from Rick...I don't like him right now.  I'm glad Rick finally figured stuff out. Once he stopped thinking it was his fault and actually focused on the issue, it didn't take me long at all to piece together things.  Kate shouldn't have been so surprised..she should know him better by now.  Rick should have figured it out sooner.  I can see maybe a day or so him being confused and all by what she did, but they - meaning the writers and showrunners - dragged that out too long.  Rick is always looking for the story..and what doesn't add up.  He should have pieced it together faster.  I like that he called her out on stuff when it came out.  It did kind of seem after that bit that the rest of the...hmm...resolution was a bit rushed, but I'm mostly ok with that since it means the nonsense is over.  I don't mind that there is a new secret big bad they are looking for.  Fine..Kate just needs to stop lying and keeping secrets.  I know some people said they wanted Kate to have to work to really get Rick back and even suffer some.  There was no need for that really.  Maybe leave her wondering a little longer in the one episode on if she screwed up so bad it can't be fixed...but otherwise, nope.  Didn't want this crap to go on as long as it did, let alone into more episodes.  I was overall happy with the end of the last episode.  I do think there are still questions.  Obviously nothing with Locksat is settled, and that's fine.  Let that go on...just let them have a way to work together to figure it out.  It seems unclear on if they will keep up the separation or "break" appearance in public to try to fool the Locksat person or people.  If they do, I'm fine with it because Rick knows the truth, though I still think that won't keep him, or even Alexis and Martha, safe from Locksat if they discover that Kate is investigating. 

Lanie has annoyed me.  I believe it was in the 3rd episode...her response to Rick about him being taken is no different than if he went off willingly is bullshit.  There is a BIG difference.  I also didn't like when Kate was showing concern for Rick, that Lanie said he's a grown ass man, he's fine.  Argh.  I'm not liking her right now. 
It seems wrong to me that Kate is still going to crime scenes and being as active in investigations as a captain as she is.  Captains don't do that.  I can also see her secret investigation blowing up and have consequences for her job at some point.  She's using NYPD resources for it at times...that can be tracked.  She got Vikram hired so he would be handy to help her.  Somehow I don't think the higher ups will be happy if they find out.

Soo, i got alot to say about S08. But i could sum it up in 1 word. "WTF"

The show started great actually. On of the typical dark episodes, a great two parter. And then the new showrunners decides to split'em up. (they've promised us they wouldnt break'em up. Divorce etc) and they didnt. But what pisses me off with the whole "separted part" is how Kate is treating Rick. She is back to her old self. She dont see what she is doing to Rick. And what i dont like about Rick is that he is pushing himself in her way, even tho she said "no"
And we're back with all the secrets and shit. I really dont like the first 6 episodes (i know there been 8 episodes) but i actually liked the 2 first episodes of the season. But i have a big problem with understanding the reason behind the 'serparted' story from the showrunners? Whats your point? What do you try to tell us? For me Kate went back to her famous rabbithole. Wich she promised she'll never do again. Blah blah, and she trust that other prick instead of Rick ("because she is trying to keep Rick safe) yeah, nah. Dont buy it. Back to all the lies we had from S04.
Dont get it. And when finally Rick is confronting Kate about it, he says a few things and leaves. Fast forward to the show. She comes back to the loft and say "sorry, please let me not do this alone" And everything is forgotten? wtf is that bullshit anyways? It just makes Rick a bigger doormat. Why is Kate always let of the hook that easy? If Rick does something. Well, we all know how that goes.
I just have a hard time to see what the showrunners (writers) are trying to tell us with all this. But i wont give up on the show, i will tune in when its back after Christmas and New Year.
But i'm disappointed with how thing was handled between Rick and Kate when they first decided to go this messed up route. I hope this wasnt the last of the argument. I hope we see more from it. I kinda miss AM & Co allreay :|
But with the ratings dropping, the fans not happy with where the show is heading, i wouldnt be shocked if this will be their last season. I hope i'm wrong. But i'm not positive anymore.
And the showrunners got alot of wrongs to fix before i would be happy with a S09. Because i'm not really with how my show has become, when you look back at the past 7 seasons.

The first 2 episodes were good overall, though I did have a bad feeling with Kate vanishing and Rick left to scramble to figure out what was going on...especially once it was more clear that she lied to Rick.  I am fine with a new big bad..dragon...whatever they want to call this person.  Really it sort of makes sense since it was said before that someone else with even more power than Bracken was probably involved to some degree.  So ok, fine.  Even though it would have been nice if they thought up something that wasn't tied to Kate's mom.  But whatever.  The more I think about it, the more I think that the writers decided to bring up her mom's murder in some way again because they screwed up so bad with Rick's disappearance last year...and people generally liked the story tied to her mom's murder.  It is just kind of ..aggravating.  But that I could deal with.  But Kate's dumbass decision to leave Rick to protect him?  No.  Complete and utter bullshit. 

I agree that she was back to her old self for the most part.  Once she realized how dangerous these people or person - or whoever the hell it is - are, her first instinct is to lie to Rick and keep secrets.  It is like she regressed.  And frankly, her drive to get justice for her team - that she only worked with for a few months over 2 years ago before she was FIRED because she didn't go along with the bullshit - seems a little...odd to me too.  She hasn't been in contact with those people, and now she is going to risk her life and potentially ruin her marriage over them?  That just seems a little...off to me.  I could see her being that...obsessed on catching the person in charge if it was someone from the 12th that got hurt or heaven forbid killed.  But ok, whatever.  She could have talked to Rick about the situation and what she learned from Rita there near the end of the second episode.  They could have figured out a plan to work on it together.  Rick helped her go after Bracken before..and in secret.  Rick would have been damn helpful.  But no...she chose to lie to him and trust Vikram, a complete stranger.  I don't like him and don't trust him.  Maybe he is what he said, but I don't trust him.

I didn't exactly think that Rick taking Kate back made him a doormat.  He did stand up to her a bit and he called her out on her bullshit.  I didn't like what Kate did at all, but I'm ok with him taking her back.  If that hadn't happened, the separation shit would have carried into the next chunk of episodes and it went on entirely too long as it was.  Yes their making up was rushed and there are still issues that need to be addressed - hopefully that will happen - but I damn sure didn't want to have to wait out the winter break with everything still up in the air and come back to more of Rick not knowing what was going on while Kate was sneaking around with Vikram.  All her lies ultimately served no purpose.  She and Virakm have gotten exactly no where with their investigation.  No freaking where.  Basically they are still as clueless as they were at the end of episode 2.  Rick basically figured out all kinds of stuff in just like...hmm..seemed like maybe 24 hours or so once he realized something else was going on.  That almost annoyed me more than anything else, that it took Rick so freaking long to start looking for the story so to speak and start investigating a bit on his own.  He normally picks up on that stuff so quick, though I guess since Kate dropped her bombshell of leaving, he can be sort of excused.  and I guess we don't know for sure how much time passed for them. It was like 8 weeks for us..could have just been a few weeks for them.  Still annoys me though.

I saw several interviews with the new showrunners since the...disaster happened.  They kept saying they were trying to shake things up...get back to the tension there was back in earlier seasons...nonsense like that.  It is too late to go back.  They are married.  Deal with it instead of screwing with them.  It was mentioned somewhere about how some fans complained that it was boring last year once they were married.  I wasn't bored.  I was fine.  Just once again people who can't or just won't write for married characters.  I'm so sick of the mentality that most writers seem to have - heck even some viewers - that it is boring if a couple is happy and not breaking/making up constantly.  I hate that crap.

I more than kind of miss Marlow and Terri.  Though I still don't like their decision to make Rick vanish on the way to the wedding...and how that was resolved sucked. 

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if the show isn't picked up again either.  It almost seems like the writers were trying to ruin the show so it would be cancelled.  Let there be a hunt for a new bad guy/woman/group whatever.  Just let Rick and Kate deal with it together.  And give Lanie an attitude adjustment.  Really not liking her that much so far this year.

I kind of want to see Kate get in trouble at work over this secret investigation.  She's using NYPD resources for her....well...bascially vendetta.  Somehow I don't think that will go over well if they find out.  And it seems like someone has to find out at some point.  The bad guy/woman/group was able to track a redacted memo at the AG's office.  They surely have much better security than the NYPD.  So it stands to reason the bad person/group will find out what Kate and Vikram are up to, and it will trickle down to the NYPD finding out.  Kate was asking questions about the drugs tied to that one guy...umm...Vulcan.  The connection between him and Bracken became known I believe..and Kate wasn't exactly being careful about asking about that..just called up narcotics and asked questions.  How the hell is that keeping an investigation secret?  It just doesn't make sense.  And Kate going to crime scenes and stuff...doesn't fit with her now being a captain.  But guess we aren't supposed to care about that.  Just more that aggravates me.  It is like they wanted her to be promoted - and there did seem to be the big push late last season about what she was going to do with her career - but they don't want her just at a desk.  Which is what a captain does.  It is like whoever decided to make her a captain didn't think it out to the future consequences...what to do on the show when she's stuck at a desk. 

I'm not happy with the season so far either.  Not at all.  If the end of the last episode, when they made up, was supposed to be the pay off for this, it fell way short.  Worse than the mess of Rick's disappearance.  Teh showrunners kept saying that once the resolution came out, it would all be worth it and we would all go back and rewatch and enjoy the first episodes, knowing the ultimate outcome.  Ummm...no.  Hell no in fact.  There are several episodes already that I never want to watch again.  For the ones I will watch again, I'll fast forward through some bits.  The stuff in some of those episodes still sucks.  And that giant stinking mess they made left a shadow hanging over all the episodes.  I couldn't even go back and rewatch earlier seasons like I woudl before.  I frequently watched the reruns on TNT.  This mess turned me off so much I couldn't...it was like the current mess made it painful to watch the good stuff because I knew how horribly horribly wrong it would go.

I have so much to discuss when it comes to Castle this year, but real life can be a bitch sometimes.

Anyways, Rick being a doormat or not, we can agree or disagree. But i personally think he is portrayed as "the doormat" Kate can do whatever she wants, and thats ok.
But when\if Rick tries to do something about her shit. Well, doesnt go that well all the time. (Yeah, i know he confronted her in the breakroom) but after all the shit thats been going on,
and thats it? She comes back to the loft like nothing ever happened? "take me back. I need you" sure i will take you back, no questions asked. I just dont agree with that bullshit
and i dont think Kate will ever change. Neither will Rick. And that is what makes our characters great. But they are married now and a marriage goes both ways. Give and take from both
sides, not only the one side.
But i wont blame Kate or Rick. I blame the showrunners, its they who decides how their characters will act. And its they how decide the direction of the show.

Speaking of.. I think they really dropped the ball in this season. When they first messed it up (like they did) they fixed it in a bad way (IMHO) I dont think AM& Co would ever do it like this.
they have messed with the core of the show. And now they are losing viewers and the ratings are at a all time low. So why would ABC renew the show for a new season? They might do,
FOX are doing it with Bones year after year. And i'm not even sure why.
I will keep watching Castle till they go off air. But i dont agree wtih how things have been so far this season. But i will give it a chance. Just not sure if ABC will give them alot of chanses..

Meh, so "finally" my favorite show on tv (these days) are over.  And they ruined it all for me! Specially with that fucking ending. Excuse my french, but wtf was that?!
They should have stopped at season 7. Specially after i watched the last episode. The last episode last year would be the perfect ending. but nah.. They had to go all
"Bones" on us, and ruin it! Thanks guys!

So, its a while since Castle was taken off the air.. What can we say about the last season? The last (and final season) ruined alot for me. They should have ended it after season 7, would be a fitting ending for a great show IHMO. But i heard there was alot of stuff going on backstage, and thats why stuff happend like it did.
A shame tho.
But Stana (Beckett) is back at it aswell with her new show. Have watched a few episodes from her new show, and i like what i've seen so far.
