Let the Right One In / Let Me In
« on: July 09, 2013, 03:04:31 AM »
I have both these films on the way. But wanted to ask a quick question about them.

Am I better served to watch the original first... before checking out the American remake? Or does it really matter?

Either way... which would you suggest to watch first?

Well, for me if you watch 'Let the Right One In' then you will have a good feeling for the story (not americanized).  And you will get your reading done as it is subtitled.  Then watch 'Let me In' and you will come to see how good 'Let the Right One In' really is :).

Either way will work.  You will probably like one more that the other but that is only natural.  But both are pretty good.  I hope you like at least one of them ... though neither are as good as the book.  Right .. like THAT is something new :)
Thank you
David

Yeah... think watching the original makes the most sense.

Going by profiler at least... Let the Right On In also has an English audio track... so I don't have to suffer through subtitles (I am an extremely slow reader... and can't keep up with subtitles). So for me that is a plus.

Yes I know a lot of people are against different audio tracks... but for me it is better then hitting pause or rewind every couple minutes.

I actually preferred the (original) movie over the book (haven't seen the remake).
I got a bit sick of reading about the kid's piss-sponge, and just found the story dragged.

Let Me In arrived yesterday

Let the Right One In hasn't even shipped yet.

Plan is to wait for Let the Right One In to arrive... and Britt and I do a double feature starting with the original.

Noticed on Profiler yesterday that Let Me In has the girl that played Hit-Girl on Kick-Ass... so that is a bonus for Britt as she loved her. Speaking of which... Britt and I saw the trailer for Kick-Ass 2 on imdb. Looks like it is going to be another good one!

Yes, Chloe is in this one. But while she is good, the girl in the original is far better. Chloe is also in the upcoming remake for Carrie. Kick-Ass 2 is coming out next month :yahoo:.

Did you see the trailer that tells you the whole movie in two minutes....? I mean, it's not a problem to us, as we've seen the film before (the original), but I found it quite awkward to watch (the trailer).

I haven't seen the trailer for the new Carrie yet.  I'll probably eventually see it.

Yeah... basically. But as you said... not really a problem for us.
