Married with Children Episode Reviews
« on: June 09, 2012, 09:19:12 PM »
"Spend some quality time with the family as you join hard-working husband Al, housework-hating wife Peg, sexy daughter Kelly and hopelessly horny son Bud to celebrate the landmark TV sitcom MARRIED... WITH CHILDREN. For 11 seasons it was brilliantly tasteless, daringly raunchy and a devilishly clever comedy that put the FUN in DYSFUNCTIONAL. Now you can own this great collectible boxset that's guaranteed to give you hours and hours of domestic bliss."

Married with Children ran from April 5, 1987, to June 9, 1997. The series was created by Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt. The show was known for handling non-standard topics for the time period, which garnered the then-fledgling Fox network a standing among the Big Three television networks.

Cast:
Ed O'Neill as Al Bundy
Katey Sagal as Peggy Bundy
Christina Applegate as Kelly Bundy
David Faustino as Bud Bundy
Amanda Bearse as Marcy Rhoades D'Arcy
David Garrison as Steve Rhoades (Seasons 1-4)
Ted McGinley as Jefferson D'Arcy (Seasons 6-11)

My Notes:
Lately I been in the mood to do some more episode reviews for a TV Series. When I got the Complete Series box set of Married with Children so cheap I decided this would be the perfect time to do one. Plus the fact that I just recently watched the season 1 set... and this gives me an excuse to rewatch season 1 so I can see if those discs is ok in my new set. Being this series lasted 11 seasons I fully expect this review thread to take me some time before it is complete. After all... there is other things I want to watch too!

When this series originally aired I remember enjoying it very much... but for some reason I stopped watching shortly after they introduced the character of Jefferson D'Arcy (Seasons 6). I don't remember if I stopped watching because the series went downhill or if it just fell off my radar for some other reason.

I am going to use the following for episode ratings...
(bad or worse)
(boring)
(not really bad, but not good either)
(I enjoyed it)
(now that was quite good)
(Excellent!)

I remember the Jefferson episodes to be quite funny. He was very different to Steve which gave the whole thing a fresh spin. But in overall Al's attitude oesn't change much making the series rather repetitive eventually. Maybe the latter is why you decided to stop for a while...

Married with Children: Season 1 Disc 1:

1. PILOT
Peg forces Al to Forfeit his coveted basketball game to have dinner with their annoying new neighbors, Steve and Marcy.

My Thoughts:
This is a pretty good pilot episode. It does a good job introducing all the main characters... and show you exactly what to expect from the series. Has a few good laughs. But I have seen better episodes.

My Rating:

2. THINNERGY
Hoping to rekindle Al's flame, Peg takes Marcy's advice and embarks on a crash diet.

My Thoughts:
Another episode I enjoyed quite a bit... but have seen better. There is some good laughs here. I especially liked how Al put an end to the crash diet.

My Rating:

3. SIXTEEN YEARS AND WHAT DO YOU GET?
After Peg runs his credit card to the max, Al is forced to show up at his own wedding anniversary empty-handed

My Thoughts:
This episode I enjoyed a little more then the previous two. There was several laugh out loud moments for me. The entire storyline is a fun idea.

My Rating:

4. BUT I DIDN'T SHOOT THE DEPUTY
Mistaken for a burglar, Al accidentally shoots his neighbors' watchdog.

My Thoughts:
This is an episode I found to be very funny. Several parts had me laughing out loud. This episode is probably my favorite so far. I especially liked how Peg got Al in tears at the very end of the episode.

My Rating:

5. HAVE YOU DRIVEN A FORD LATELY
After restoring a vintage mustang, Al discovers the backseat isn't the only thing "hot" about his cherry ride.

My Thoughts:
While I did enjoy this... it has a good storyline... it just didn't have as many laughs for me. Basically an average...maybe slightly above... episode.

My Rating:

6. WHOSE ROOM IS IT ANYWAY?
A battle of the sexes is waged over who has the final word on the neighbors' room addition.

My Thoughts:
I wasn't to impressed with this episode. I mean it is an alright storyline... but I didn't laugh a single time through-out the episode. And there was no surprise to the end of the episode. Even when I first watched this episode.... it went exactly where I expected it to. But at least it was enough to keep me entertained and interested in the storyline.

My Rating:

7. AL LOSES HIS CHERRY
After a bad fight, Al vows to teach Peg a lesson by not coming home all night. Instead he's the one who ends up getting schooled by a blonde bombshell.

My Thoughts:
Pretty much an average episode here. Not that much really worth laughing at. In this episode I did spot a familiar face though. Estelle Harris (Seinfeld) has a small part.

My Rating:

8. PEGGY SUE GOT WORK
When Al refuses to buy Peg a new VCR, Marcy convinces her to bring home the bacon herself.

My Thoughts:
This one I enjoyed a bit more then the last one. It has a few good laughs in it. Was fun seeing Peg trying to deal with having a job.

My Rating:

9. MARRIED ... WITHOUT CHILDREN
When Al and Peg get away for the weekend, Marcy and Steve volunteer to baby-sit Kelly and Bud - but get more then they bargained for.

My Thoughts:
This is another episode I enjoyed every moment of. It is loaded with good laughs. Seeing Steve and Marcy try to handle the kids was a lot of fun. This is definitely one of my favorite episodes of the first season.

My Rating:

Season 1 Disc 1 Thoughts:
Yes... I just watched this disc about a week and a half ago. But I wanted to do an episode review thread... plus I did have to make sure these disc work correctly... so I didn't want to skip it. Unfortunately that made it a little harder to get through the disc. But over-all it is a good start to this long-running sitcom.

Extras:
- None at all!

Married with Children: Season 1 Disc 2:

10. THE POKER GAME
When Steve sits in on a Friday-night poker game, he loses more then his shirt to Al.

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this episode quite a bit. There was several good laughs in it.

My Rating:

11. WHERE'S THE BOSS
Fooled into thinking his boss is dead, Al threatens to quit his job unless he gets a little respect.

My Thoughts:
Not quite as good as the last one... but still enjoyable. This episode started off a little slow... but it picked up pretty good about half way through. A few good laughs.

My Rating:

12. NIGHTMARE ON AL'S STREET
Marcy is living a nightmare when a too-sexy Al starts popping up in her dreams.

My Thoughts:
This one I enjoyed a lot! I was laughing through-out the entire episode. It ranks up there with my favorite episodes of the season.

My Rating:

13. JOHNNY BE GONE
When his favorite hamburger joint closes, Al must choose between family and food.

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this one.... but not as much as some in this set. It is a little hard for me to rate... as it seems like it falls between 2 ratings for me. Has some decent laughs for me... but feel it should have been a little better. Especially since it is the season finale.

My Rating:

Season 1 Disc 2 Thoughts:
This disc completes a short first season. As you see in the list below, it has 1 good extra... then some trailers. One thing that I find weird... and I have seen other sets do this as well... They decide to put the reunion special with season 1. I would think it would fit better as an extra for the last season of a series... not the first. This is not really a complaint. It just seems weird to me.

Extras:
- Married with Children Reunion Special
- A Minute with Stan Hooper Sneak Preview
- Bonus Trailers (TV Action Favorites, TV Comedy Favorites, The Sweetest Thing)

Married with Children: Season 2 Disc 1:

1. BUCK CAN DO IT
One of the Bundy's neighbors threaten to sue when Buck the dog mates with their dog, and asks the Bundy's to neuter Buck, which Al refuses to do.

My Thoughts:
A pretty funny episode. Had some decent laughs. While it was funny in a way... the whole dream Al had about talking to buck (a guy in a huge Buck suit) did seem a bit on the weird side.

My Rating:

2. POPPY'S BY THE TREE (Part 1)
The Bundy's go to a sleazy, dumpy motel in Dumpwater Florida. Trouble heads their way when an axe murderer, who hates tourists, arrives.

My Thoughts:
This one has a few good laughs in it. They sure did make the hillbillies over the top though. I am kinda getting a kick out of them adding a little excitement to an episode what with making them deal with an axe murderer.

My Rating:

3. POPPY'S BY THE TREE (Part 2)
Peg is kidnapped by the axe murderer and it's up to Al to save her.

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed the second part as well. Maybe even a little more so then part 1. It definitely had a few more laughs. And had to get a kick out of who the killer was and how it ended.

My Rating:

4. IF I WERE A RICH MAN
Al and Steve visit the vault at Steve's bank and the next day, one million dollars is reported missing. Peg and the kids hear about it and worship Al thinking that he stole the money and that they are now a wealthy family.

My Thoughts:
The series seems to really be on a roll in it's second season. Another episode that had plenty of laughs.

My Rating:

5. FOR WHO THE BELL TOLLS
The phone company cuts off the phone service to the Bundy household after Al refuses to pay for a phone call he did not make. This annoys Peggy, Kelly, and the rest of the neighborhood.

My Thoughts:
So much for the roll they were on. Well this one isn't a bad episode really. But it wasn't as good as the previous several. Only a couple chuckles through-out the entire episode.

My Rating:

6. GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN (Part 1)
Marcy and Steve have a fight, which leads to Marcy joining Peggy and her friends going to a strip club, where Marcy accidentally loses her wedding ring... down a stripper's pants.

My Thoughts:
There is some good laughs here. I especially got a kick out of seeing Marcy getting carried away and acting more like Peg.

My Rating:

7. GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN (Part 2)
A stripper shows up at Al's with Marcy's wedding ring. Al convinces Steve to make Marcy feel guilty about losing it, and confronts Peg about what she was doing at the strip club.

My Thoughts:
Not a bad episode...though it isn't as good as the first part.

My Rating:

8. BORN TO WALK
Al fails his test for renewing his license on the same day Kelly gets hers.

My Thoughts:
Seen a similar storyline on several different shows... but they still did this episode right good. It had a few laughs in it. I enjoyed it a bit more then the previous episode.

My Rating:

9. ALLEY OF THE DOLLS
Peg meets and old rival from high school and their two families face off at a bowling match to see who the real loser is. With the Bundy team being one player short, Steve has to step in to help.

My Thoughts:
Another episode I found right fun. Even if the ending was more then predictable. But when it comes to this series... every episode is predictable. It's all a matter of enjoying the ride to that ending.

My Rating:

Season 2 Disc 1 Thoughts:

Extras:
- Bonus Trailers (Classic Comedy, Contemporary TV, Original Programming TV, Arrested Development)
- 13 hidden interview clips through-out the menus (Going by the ones I was able to find it seems that they are all from the Reunion Special that was on season 1 disc 2. Since I watched that... seeing these here is no big deal.)

Married with Children: Season 2 Disc 2:

10. THE RAZOR'S EDGE
A fight with Marcy about his newly grown beard makes Steve spend a few nights at the Bundy household, which everyone is happy about, except Peggy and Marcy.

My Thoughts:
This is an excellent episode. It is lots of fun. I really enjoyed the back and forth between Marcy and Steve. And as always... the back and forth between Bud and Kelly is fun to watch as well.

My Rating:

11. HOW DO YOU SPELL REVENGE?
Al tries to improve Peg's softball skills while Kelly's boyfriend asks her to prove her love to him by getting a tattoo.

My Thoughts:
This is a fun episode. Has a few laughs in it. Got a kick out of the ending. I had stated that this show always has the obvious ending. But I got to say... I didn't see the ending of this one coming. So yes... even this show can have a somewhat of a surprise ending.

My Rating:

12. EARTH ANGLE
Bud meets a 21 year old art student in the park and brings her to the Bundy household. Everybody seems to like her but Marcy, who plans to get rid of her.

My Thoughts:
This one is a kind of average episode. Has a couple laughs... but nothing special. How it ended felt a little rushed as well.

My Rating:

13. YOU BETTER WATCH OUT
This Christmas episode tells about Santa Claus, who is late showing up at the mall. His parachute doesn't open up and he falls off his sleigh and onto the Bundy property... dead.

My Thoughts:
This is the first Christmas episode of the series. It is a lot of fun... but for some reason I expected more from it. I could have sworn I remembered it being better. But definitely up there with the other very good episodes.

My Rating:

14. GUYS AND DOLLS
Al and Steve have to go out to the streets looking for Marcy's old Barbie doll, that they traded for two rare baseball cards, not knowing that Marcy wanted to keep the doll.

My Thoughts:
This one is a little better then average.... but it does contain some good laughs. In this case I liked side storyline between Bud and Kelly more then the main storyline. But there is some good laughs here.

My Rating:

15. BUILD A BETTER MOUSETRAP
A mouse finds its way into the Bundy home. Too manly and proud to hire an exterminator, Al sets on killing the mouse, even if it means he has to tear the house down and damage it to shreds.

My Thoughts:
A good episode with plenty of laughs at how Al tries to deal with the mouse. Though once again I saw the ending come from a mile away.

My Rating:

16. MASTER THE POSIBILITIES
When the mailman delivers a credit card pre-approved for Buck the Dog, the Bundy's go on a spending spree.

My Thoughts:
Pretty good episode. A funny idea... but wasn't quite as good as I was expecting.

My Rating:

17. PEGGY LOVES AL, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH
On Valentines day, Bud awaits his first Valentine, Kelly has a load of valentines to choose from, Steve plans on taking Marcy to Hawaii, and Peg wants Al to say "I Love you" to her.

My Thoughts:
Enjoyed this one quite a bit. I got a kick out of the prank Al played on Marcy.

My Rating:

18. THE GREAT ESCAPE
The Bundy home is fumigated for termites, forcing the family to spend the night in the shoe store, where a grounded Kelly tends to sneak out to get to a rock concert.

My Thoughts:
This one is alright... but nothing overly funny. A few chuckles is about it.

My Rating:

Season 2 Disc 2 Thoughts:
There is several right good episodes on this disc. Some of them surprised me that I enjoyed them as much as I did going by the plots. Though there is a few average ones mixed in as well. Unfortunately there is no extras on this disc.l

Extras:
- NONE

Married with Children: Season 2 Disc 3:

19. IMPO-DENT
Marcy dents Steve's new Mercades and heavily regrets it. Revenge brings Steve to claim she made him impotent and he uses her as his personal servant.

My Thoughts:
This one has a pretty fun idea... but there just wasn't that many laughs in it.

My Rating:

20. JUST MARRIED ... WITH CHILDREN
Having filled in an application for the Rhoades' to be on a game show, Al and Peg appear on the gameshow for newlyweds - "How Do I Love Thee", portraying Steve and Marcy.

My Thoughts:
This one is a very silly episode... even for Married with Children. But I enjoyed it quite a bit.

My Rating:

21. FATHER LODE
Al tries to keep his race track winnings a secret, while Peg starts taking money from Al's wallet.

My Thoughts:
This one is very good. I enjoyed every second of it. I really got a kick out of how Al got the best of Steve at the end of the episode.

My Rating:

22. ALL IN THE FAMILY
Peg's hillbilly relatives from Wanker county pay a visit. Fighting uncles, singing triplet aunts, whose showbiz career is threatened by Al's imputs, and Al is trying all he can to watch the John Wayne film "Hondo."

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed the episode... it has several good laughs in it. But I somehow expected a bit more from the season finale. I remember thinking the same thing with Season 1. Maybe I been spoiled by shows of today... gotten used to studios making a big deal out of the season finale. Not just being another ordinary episode.

My Rating:

Season 2 Disc 3 Thoughts:
As I said above... this finishes off the second season. The episodes on this disc seemed to be all over the place enjoyment wise... but the season as a whole seemed pretty strong. Unfortunately this is another disc with no extras what so ever on it.

Extras:
- None

Married with Children: Season 3 Disc 1:

1. HE THOUGHT HE COULD
In the third season opener, Al learns that he have had a copy of "The Little Engine That Could" since 1957 and when he goes to return it, he finds the same fat Librarian that was there in 1957.

My Thoughts:
This episode didn't impress me much at all. No real laughs or anything. For the first time in the series I basically found an episode that was more boring then anything else.

My Rating:

2. I'M GOING TO SWEATLAND
Peg thinks she might have seen Elvis at the mall and Marcy notices a pit stain shaped like him on Al's shirt. Elvis fans come flocking around just to see it.

My Thoughts:
A bit better then the previous episode... but not by much. Once again there was no laughs

My Rating:

3. POKE HIGH
A high school football player is threatening to break the record Al set for Polk High.

My Thoughts:
This is more like it. I was starting to think that the series was going to start to go downhill at the beginning of the third season. But I really enjoyed this episode. There was plenty of laughs... and while I seen the ending come from a mile away... it was none the less satisfying.

My Rating:

4. THE CAMPING SHOW
A nice weekend away for the Rhoades and the Bundys turns into misery when Peg, Kelly and Marcy all have their period at the same time, torturing the men.

My Thoughts:
Now this episode was a lot of fun to watch! Both Brittany and I laughed through-out the entire episode.

My Rating:

5. A DUMP OF MY OWN
Al plans on building his dream - an executive's type of bathroom in the garage.

My Thoughts:
This one I didn't think too much of. Sure there was a couple laughs in it. But over all not that impressive.

My Rating:

6. HER CUPS RUNNETH OVER
Al and Steve head off to a fancy boutique to get Peggy a new bra for her birthday.

My Thoughts:
This one is a bit better then the last episode... but still not as good as most of the previous episodes.

My Rating:

7. THE BALD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
Steve fears he is losing his hair, and convinces Al that the same thing is happening to him.

My Thoughts:
This one is pretty much on par with the last episode. There is a laugh here and there... but nothing all that special. Pretty much an average episode.

My Rating:

Season 3 Disc 1 Thoughts:
The first thing I noticed with this 3rd season disc is that starting here they replaced the theme song with some instrumental music only. While still some good episodes... I have found that the series went downhill abit for me by this point already. Over-all still well worth watching... but not quite as good as the previous couple seasons.

Extras:
- Bonus Trailers (Seinfeld, TV Comedy Favorites, TV Action Favorites)
- 10 Hidden Clips from the Married with Children Reunion Special

Married with Children: Season 3 Disc 2:

8. THE GYPSY CRIED
When a psychic's predictions all come true for Al, Peggy and Steve, Marcy fears that what the psychic told her will come true - her death.

My Thoughts:
This one has a few good laughs in it. But I have seen better episodes.

My Rating:

9. REQUIEM FOR A DEAD BARBER
Al grows his hair when his barber dies, and fears he is turning into a "sissy" just because he has to go to salons.

My Thoughts:
Much like the last eisode... it has a few laughs. But there isn't nothing special to see here.

My Rating:

10. EATIN' OUT
The Bundys inherit some money from a relative and decides to go to a fancy restaurant, but Al accidentally forgets his wallet. Its up to Bud and Kelly to go back and get the wallet, but they decide to ditch their parents at the restaurant, unable to pay the bill.

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this one a bit more then the previous couple episodes. It has a few good chuckles in it. But I must say... I haven't been too impressed with the 3rd season over-all so far.

My Rating:

11. MY MOM, THE MOM
Peg goes to Kelly's school for mother-daughter day and talks about the joy of being a housewife, meanwhile Bud has to learn the value of a dollar after breaking the Rhoades' window.

My Thoughts:
This one is another fun episode. I got a bit of a kick out of Peg at the Mother-Daughter day at the school.

My Rating:

12. CAN'T DANCE, DON'T ASK ME
Kelly has to tap dance at a dance recital because of a prank she pulled.

My Thoughts:
This one is a great episode. Lots of laughs... Kelly's dance recital was absolutely hilarious.

My Rating:

13. A THREE JOB, NO INCOME FAMILY
Al gets a second job in an attempt to make more money than Peg after she starts earning money selling 'Patty Girl' cosmetics.

My Thoughts:
Not a great episode... only a couple deccent chuckles within the entire episode. Though I did get a kick out of seeing a young Pauly Shore in this one.

My Rating:

14. THE HARDER THEY FALL
Steve fears he will get beaten up after Peg gives a man "the finger", while Steve is driving.

My Thoughts:
This one I didn't think too much of. No laughs in this one at all. And they went to the obvious place for an ending.

My Rating:

Season 3 Disc 2 Thoughts:
While there is some good episodes still... it looks like season 3 went downhill quite a bit on me. Definitely not going to end up being the best season of the series... that is for sure.

Wow, you are really to town with this, speeding through the series! I just started with disc 1 yesterday; I would rate it slightly higher than you in average. Interesting to see was how the series found it's footing over the first few episodes. The pilot is just that and then over the first few regular episodes they seemed to learn what works and improve on that.

I guess this was filmed in front of an actual live audience?

I think it did at least. I am hoping it picks back up for me. I remember enjoying it more for longer. So it may be that season 3 wasn't that great of a season... and it picked back up. That or my taste has matured some. :P

Married with Children: Season 3 Disc 3:

15. THE HOUSE THAT PEG LOST
Steve and Marcy ask Peggy to look over their house, but when a moving company asks for "Steves Roadhouse", Peggy allows the company to tow away the Rhoades home, and they have to spend a night at the Bundys - where Kelly is having a slumber party.

My Thoughts:
This is a fun episode. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Though I found I enjoyed the side storyline of Kelly's slumber party more then I did about the house.

My Rating:

16. MARRIED ... WITH QUEEN
Al and Peggy go to their high school reunion. Peggy wants to be prom queen and she spent a lot of money calling old friends and buying new clothes to gain votes. But when she thinks she has the majority of the votes, her rival Connie Bender appears and surprises Peg with the fact that Connie is now in the lead to be prom queen.

My Thoughts:
This episode didn't impress me much at all. no laughs in it or anything. Hopefully part 2 will be better.

My Rating:

17. MARRIED ... WITH QUEEN, THE SEQUEL
Peggy tries desperatly to get more votes but it seems that most of the people are going to vote for Connie. Bud and Kelly ask Marcy and Steve about the sixties and after some history, Bud and Kelly dress up as hippies and visit the prom.

My Thoughts:
Not much better then part one... but it is better. I did get a kick out of Bud and Kelly showing up at the reunion.

My Rating:

18. THE DATELESS AMIGO
Bud tries to find a girl who will date him when both of his friends have dates.

My Thoughts:
This is another one that didn't impress me too much. Didn't laugh at all through-out the episode.

My Rating:

19. THE COMPUTER SHOW
Steve and Marcy convince Peggy to buy a computer for the family, but nobody uses it.

My Thoughts:
Nothing funny here either. Though I do have to say... wow... what a difference in computers between the mid '80s and now! :P

My Rating:

20. LIFE'S A BEACH
When the family visit the beach, Al meets an ex-girlfriend and Bud and Kelly both look for dates.

My Thoughts:
This one I enjoyed every minute of! Seeing the Bundys at the beach was a lot of fun. Several laughs in this one as well.

My Rating:

21. HERE'S LOOKIN' AT YOU, KID
When all the women in the neighborhood gets peeped on except Peggy, she gets really jealous and eventually puts out a ladder, milk, and cookies for him. Meanwhile, Al convinces Bud to stop fooling Kelly and actually help her with her studies.

My Thoughts:
This is another episode I enjoyed quite a bit. Not quite as much as the episode with them on the beach... but still lots of fun. I thought I knew where this one was going... but I was wrong. I was expecting it to come out that Bud was the peeper. While they didn't say who it was one way or the other... they made it seem like it wasn't him.

My Rating:

22. I'LL SEE YOU IN COURT (Infamous Lost Episode!)
While staying overnight in a motel, Peggy and Al discover that their most intimate moments have been videotaped by the management.

My Thoughts:
And yet another one I enjoyed quite a bit. This is one I didn't remember at all. I usually remember at least something about an episode. But not this time. I probably only seen it during the original run since it marked as a lost episode. Who knows... may even have missed the original run of it. But this one has some good laughs... even if it is a bit on the predictable side.

My Rating:

Season 3 Disc 3 Thoughts:
This finishes off the 3rd season of the series. For the most part this disc... even this season on a whole... didn't impress me too much. Most the episodes I didn't laugh at... at all. But at least it did finish off strong with the last 3 episodes of the season. Hopefully this is a sign of a better season for next season!

Married with Children: Season 4 Disc 1:

1. Hot Off the Grill
Al has a Labor Day barbecue, where he becomes aroused by the sight of Peg actually doing housework, and Steve and Marcy bring along the ashes of a hated relative.

My Thoughts:
An excellent episode here! Lots of fun. I enjoyed every second of it. Yes it is still predictable... but it is still a lot of fun to see them get to the expected ending. Al going after Peg through-out the episode was also a fun change.

My Rating:

2. Dead Men Don't Do Aerobics
Peggy wins the chance to exercise with Jim Jupiter, a local aerobics instructor with his own TV show, for two weeks, but ends up killing Jim by introducing him to the world of smoking, eating junk food, and watching

TV.

My Thoughts:
While not quite as good as the previous episode... it is one I enjoyed quite a bit. It was fun seeing the Bundys taking on fitness and eating right.

My Rating:

3. Buck Saves the Day
To earn money for a concert, Bud rents out Al as a professional woodsman who takes the neighborhood kids (and Steve and Bud) on a camping trip. They all have a miserable time there and put all their hopes on Buck to save them. Meanwhile, Kelly earns money for the same concert by fleecing Peggy's friends at poker.

My Thoughts:
Nothing special here... just an average episode. It has a few chuckles in it at best.

My Rating:

4. Tooth or Consequences
Al gets a toothache and goes to a dentist, who is still bitter over his wife divorcing him.

My Thoughts:
This one is a bit hard for me to rate... I enjoyed the episode... but at the same time I have seen better. It comes in between 2 ratings for me. This episode guest stars Traci Lords as the dentist's assistant.

My Rating:

5. He Ain't Much, But He's Mine
Peg thinks a new customer at the hair salon may be having an affair with Al. She gets jealous and acts weird.

My Thoughts:
This is a fun episode with  Few good laughs in it. Definitely worth the time put in to watch it.

My Rating:

6. Fair Exchange
The Bundys can feast on the $500 a month they receive for hosting a French foreign exchange student. But the beautiful French girl, Yvette, soon turns Kelly's social life into famine, which prompts Kelly to take action to get her own social life back.

My Thoughts:
An entertaining episode with a few decent chuckles... but nothing to special Here. Well maybe one thing special. The foreign exchange student looked familiar to me. So when I looked her up it turned out to be none other then Milla Jovavich of the Resident Evil movies. But story-wise... really nothing special.

My Rating:

7. Desperately Seeking Miss October
When Al recognizes a female customer at the shoe store as Playboy Magazine's Miss October, Al goes searching for his old issues of Playboy, only to find out that Peg sold them to buy a good luck charm named Tubra.

My Thoughts:
An entertaining episode over-all... with a few chuckles here and there. Basically just an average filler episode.

My Rating:

Season 4 Disc 1 Thoughts:
So far this is a good start to the fourth season. I am definitely enjoying it more then the previous season. We are starting to see some notable guest stars with this season. This disc alone has Traci Lords, Milla Jovavich and for the Playboy enthusiasts... Brandi Brandt. Glad to see the series is taking a turn for the better.... but I still wish we would see more/better extras.

Extras:
- Bonus Trailers (King of Queens, News Radio, Rescue Me, The Partridge Family, Seinfeld & Bewitched)
Pete

I don't know if they will come, but if there are extras they are usually on the last disc of the season. I am glad to see that you see an upward trend after being slightly disappointed of season 3.

I can't seem to stop myself. I want half way through the firt disc of season 2 yesterday and will finish it tonight. I am quite happy to be able to say that it held up for me very well so far.
