Nice. I havent seen "No Strings Attached" actually. I've been recommanded by many against it. So i havent got that one.
But today i needed a laugh. And this was one of the few comedys i got. I watch 10 comedys maby a year. Top!
Dont know why, but there is something about comedys.. (Dont get me wrong, i love a real good comedy, that make me laugh)
But it is so easy to make a real bad comedy. Wich i've seen alot. :redcard:

But dont get me wrong, Ace Ventura 1 & 2, and Dumb & Dumber is one of my favourite movies. :)

Title: The Heavy
Year: 2010
Director: Marcus Warren
Rating: Rated 15 : Very Strong Language and Strong Bloody Violence
Length:102 Min.
Video: Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: Engelsk: DTS-HD Master Audio: 5.1
Subtitles: English

Stars:
Gary Stretch
Geoff Bell
Lee Ryan
Vinnie Jones
Shannyn Sossamon
Sadie Frost

Plot:
Two brothers; one a respected politician, the other an ex con caught up with all the wrong people. Mitchell 'Boots' Mason (Gary Stretch, Dead Man's Shoes) is trying to get back on the straight and narrow but is given 'one last job' by a shady businessman (Stephen Rea). Sibling rivalry turns to betrayal when Boots discovers his brother, tipped to be the next Prime Minister, is the target. With a bent copper (Vinnie Jones) on his heels, he must decide whether to take this once in a million chance for revenge, or if blood really does run thicker than water. In a world where loyalty is thin on the ground, it's anyone's guess.

A cool and collected Brit thriller, The Heavy also stars Christopher Lee, Sadie Frost, Shannyn Sossamon and Lee Ryan, with a soundtrack by Paul Oakenfold.

Extras:
Scenevalg
Bonus Trailers
Dokumentar

My Review:
Oh, well. I dont mind a good british action flick. Seen a few good ones actullay. And going in to this one, i maby expected too much. It was cool to see Vinnie Jones back again. (long time since i've seen him in any movies) But yeah, that was cool, and of course Vinnie as a dirty cop. I think he did a good job. But for me the story in the movie was a bit to weak, something i've seen often before. And the movie was too slow for me, to be a good actionflick. There was a few good scenes, but it didnt happend much really trough out the movie. For me, this was a boring movie unfortuntaly. A movie that i wouldnt recommand to watch. :\

My Rating:
2/6

I've been tempted by this a couple of times via the on demand service on SkyPlayer but never gone through with it. You've sort of confirmed my suspicions though what tempted me was to see Shannyn Sossamon. She looked like a bright talent about ten years ago and I love her in A Knight's Tale / The Rules of Attraction. She just never really materialised and since then her best is probably a small role in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I do want to see Wristcutters: A Love Story though.

For Vinnie Jones, have you seen Midnight Meat Market? Well worth a look and I know you like your horror.

Didn't remember the name and didn't make the connection to KKBB, but Wristcutters is great. Get to it!

Wristcutters isn't on any of my on demand services, and the 5 year old DVD is still £8 so I've added it to my price watch.

If you liked "Black Swan", I highly recommend the grandmother of this genre: "The Red Shoes" (1948).
The Ballet is slightly more in the foreground than in "Black Swan", still it isn't exactly a "Dance-Movie", it merely takes place in ballet and as in "Black Swan" the professional background would be exchangeable.
I always pictured Red Shoes to be pretty much a pure ballet film. Seems I was off in my estimation. If I remember correctly then there is a Criterion release available for this which I shall put on my wish list.

I haven't watched it yet, but I have the Region B ITV Blu-Ray which is supposed to be superb. Beaver give the edge to Criterion, but these screenshots are tough to tell the difference between:

If you can play Region B, Amazon have it a fair bit cheaper.

My Review:
This was a movie that i was looking real forward to watch. And now i finally got some time on my hands to get on it. I didnt expect too much of this really. But i've always enjoyed Mark Wahlberg in action movies, he usually do a great part. Wich he did here aswell IMO. The story was interesting enough. And the cast and crew was good aswell. But the movie started of too slow for me, as i hoped it would pick up some of it pace trough out the movie. But not really. The was a twists in the movie, but nothing too big "ohh, i didnt see that coming" Its says its a Action\Thriller, i would say it was a Action\Suspence movie. An ok movie if your in to your smugling movies etc. But for me, a bit slow, but a few good action scenes here and there. And Mark Wahlberg did an good job with the movie.
Check it out if you want. I wont say it was a bad movie. But not the kind of movie it thought it would be

My Rating:
3/6

Hopefully i will get the time to watch some  James Bond  later today! :)

The more I see of Mark Wahlberg, the more I like him. He seems like a genuine guy and he picks a wide range of fun roles IMO. I see he will be in Baltasar Kormákur's next movie 2 Guns which also stars Denzel Washington. I recommend checking out 101 Reykjavik if you haven't already, and A Little Trip to Heaven is worthy of a rental/cheap purchase.
