Len Wiseman directing? They ain't going for serious then! But that may be a good thing. The original was an action movie for the 80s, this will be one for now and it could be a lot of fun.

Despite the "action," I saw the original movie as a bit too corny, so I'd have enjoyed a no nonsense version this time around. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the original movie, but there were many places I was laughing that I thought I shouldn't be.

I may give this a shot.

Certainly looks a lot more 'serious' in tone than the original. I don't think we'll be seeing anything like "Consider this a divorce" in the script.

I'll surprise you

It's look interesting certainly more than the original one (common it isn't that great and is probably one of the weakest Arnold Schwarzenegger's movie) and if the reviews are good I'll probably get it.

But my true self had to came out and add that the fighting scene with the white guys looks awfully fake

Talking of Total Recall, a TV serie was done in 1999. Anyone had seen it? The serie is cheap at Amazon Canada, so if it was more serious than the film was I would think of buying it...


Kind of funny to see how many short lived TV show are based on movies...

Actually it's one of his best. I'm being serious. It's adapted from a Philip K. Dick short story by one of the screenwriters for Alien and directed by the guy who had just done Robocop and would go onto Starship Troopers, so it's sci-fi credentials shouldn't be in doubt. Add into that a narrative that is rock solid and a brazen, all or nothing execution that borders on vulgar, and we have a movie that deserves the term rollercoaster and one of the most memorable of the 80s. And the fact it worked as well as it did was down to Schwarzenegger. Not only was he perfectly cast, the rest of the film is designed to exploit him. It is in many ways the very definition of an Arnie movie.

I liked the original overall.  I'll probably see the new one.  The little I've seen about it looks interesting.
