I'm very tempted by this one...but so far I have resisted double dipping for it.

Thanks Kathy! I needed to replace my set anyway, so this seems like a great time. ;D

Kathy, even me I gave up and got one in december

and everybody know how I was against the format (I'm not sold yet, but we will see...)

Check for a cheap one like I did (mine was less than 100$) and you don't need an HD-TV at all (you don't get the optimal benefits of the format, but you don't have to invest thousands of dollar to start). ;D

We discussed this before, but for the films you like the benefit is indeed less obvious than for more mainstream films. However, if you read some reviews, they all say often, that there still is improvements from DVD to Blu-ray (The Terror, Death Dorm, etc...).

I've noticed more differences after watching something on the Blu-ray and then watching it on a DVD player..  Definitely noticed a difference in the picture quality.

Ohh.almost forgot.  I came very close to getting Firefly on Blu...was thinking about it a little more..and then I got distracted and once I remembered again, the time was up for the special price.

I'll probably eventually get it on Blu though.
