Tonight I went to a church service with my father, brother Sherrill and his wife Donna.  Afterwards, we went to my brother's home for a little meal that has become a Christmas Eve tradition.  As it turned out, my other brother Jim (who lives in Maryland) had sent us some gifts.  This is the first time he's done this in a long time.  We opened those but the rest of our presents we'll open tomorrow.  I got a pair of John Wayne DVDs from him...

Flying Leathernecks
They Were Expendable

Gee, I asked...how did he know I like John Wayne?  Everybody knows that, answered my sister-in-law!   As it turns out, I think I had given both of these movies to Pete for his mother a year or two ago...so now I have new copies of them again.

OK... Like I said... I was pretty spoiled... I got lots of new DVDs!.... So this is what was waiting for me under the tree this morning...

Sublime

Rock of Love: Season 1
Friend knows I love TV Series on DVD... I liked Bret Micheals on Celebrity Apprentice. Hopefully I will like this show too.

Trust the Man

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century: The Complete Epic Series
This is a show from my childhood that I recently re-discovered. Mentioned it on the site here... and not 1 person... but 2 people got it for me! So I will have to see what I need to do with copy #2. :P

Whisper

Fluke

Stealth

Laughing Out Loud
5-disc Stand up Comedian set!

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls

Invitation to Hell

Melrose Place: Season 1
Another series I never seen

Melrose Place: Season 2

I Love You, Man

Ichi the Killer

Ichi-1

Margaret Cho: Revolution

Batman: The Brave and the Bold: Vol. 1

Now... this one was a huge surprise!... I posted that I got a package from Amazon from a friend... a big heavy gift wrapped in gold. A gift that both my friend and my own daughter drove me crazy torturing me about. (Which also happened to be the first thing I opened!   :tease: In that package I was told was a complete series...and that package contained...

Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series (2004)

I never seen a single episode of this series (or the original series) but I had always heard good things about this one... so I really can't wait to dig into this set! I am afraid my friend went a little overboard spoiling me... but wow! What a gorgeous set!

Non-DVD... Special mention...
My daughter remembered me seeing this several months ago and wanting to pick it up... so she shocked me by remembering and picking me up...

A Bloody (Psycho) Shower Curtain

Between the above... and the many that I got early... Wow! This was a huge Christmas for me!

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a lovely Christmas day with your friends and family. I've been spoiled this year, and took some photos to share with everyone. Sorry that some of them are at funny angles, I took them on my mobile whilst it was charging and had to try and avoid the winter sun glare :P click on the thubnails for larger images

This was the first thing I unwrapped this morning, it's a little dog charm for my Thomas Sabo charm bracelet

I also got quite a few bits of eye, lip and nail make up from Barry M and Models Own

 My favourite Prada perfume

A Hello Kitty alarm clock from my brother, plus HK diary and mug with hot chocolate

My DVDs: the Inception Bluray special edition was actually preordered by myself months ago. It was dispatched on the 2nd of December but due to appalling weather conditions only got here on Wednesday! Carriers, Get Him To The Greek and Twilight Eclipse are all presents from my parents.

Still Game complete series and specials. This is a great comedy series set in my home city of Glasgow, it never gets old. My bf got me Gilmore Girls season 7 to complete my collection.

The Inbetweeners complete collection (although there will be a movie released in 2011), and Bones seasons 1-5.

Another gift from my boyfriend, it's one of those microwavable bed warmer things :P

I also got some grey Hollister sweatpants from my bf, Christmas PJs and undies, an illuminated make up mirror (which I think I will be returning), a lovely navy blue dress, a robot cardigan and a voucher for two people to go round a cross country course in a Land Rover, which is pretty cool! I have some other stuf

Flying Leathernecks on DVD
They Were Expendable on DVD (these first two previously noted)
George Foreman Healthy Cooking grill
Philips Norelco electric razor
$50 gift card from Wal-Mart (which will probably be converted to blu-ray titles tomorrow)
Bioshock video game for the PS3
LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures video game for the PS3

Among the stuff I gave were Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the Wii to my nephew and 5 DVD and Blu-ray titles to my brother: Julie and Julia, 1960 World Series: Game 7, Sherlock Holmes, The Dark Knight and Salt.  The first two of those 5 were DVD, the other 3 were Blu-ray.

I got:

- A kick-ass flatbed scanner with a compartment in the lid for scanning photograph negatives and slides (of which I have thousands stored away)
- Gift cards (naturally)
- A much-needed craft-size paper cutter to replace the 20 pound, government-issue monster I've used all of my life that is supposed to be used more for cutting things like cardboard boxes and thick poster board!
- An also much-needed mini tape recorder since my old one finally kicked the bucket after 20 years (I tend to put off buying these things for myself for some reason as you can tell by the description of the old paper cutter above.)

And the following movies:
9
Antz
Avatar (Extended Edition) *
Bee Movie *
The Box
A Bug's Life *
The Dark Knight
Deep Impact
Field of Dreams
Fringe: Season 2 *
Happy Feet
The Incredible Hulk *
Iron Man *
Iron Man 2 *
Richie Rich
Robots *
Toy Story 3

(*) Haven't seen it yet -- This is the largest number of DVDs I have received for Christmas (which are part of a large request list to make it easier on others to find them) which I hadn't seen before. Given this is always the majority-buy for the year (I only buy about 3 DVDs a year for myself), I hope that I won't be disappointed with (m)any of these.

I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!
