Emergency Room Visit
« on: November 24, 2010, 09:41:20 PM »
I had a bit of an accident today.  I was taking a shower, lost my footing took a fall.  I hit my forehead either on the tub itself or on a soap dish jutting out from the wall.  The next thing I knew, I had blood streaming down my face from my forehead.  I got cleaned up and headed off to the emergency room.  I got a tetanus shot while I was there and then had 5 stapes put into my forhead.  I go back in a week to get them out.  On the plus side, the cut in my head is where I have hair so if there is any kind of scar, it won't be normally visible.

Sorry to hear about that one Roger! Glad to hear that emergency could fix it up though! Last time I went to Emergency it was the middle of the night when I had pneumonia. I had to wait over two hours in the rooms, all while having an extremely high temperature, fever and vomiting everywhere. Not fun!

If anyone asks, the scar is from a knife fight!

Hope you get better soon! :)

Thanks everyone.  They asked lots of head questions...do you have a headache...are you dizzy...etc.  They didn't ask to x-ray my head, though.  I can imagine the response..."We x-rayed your head but found nothing..."  :stars:

I've never been to the emergency room for random injuries like that. If I am heading to the ER, it's either pre-planned for extremely sudden case all related to a set of medical issues stemming from my birth.

Hope all heals well quickly Roger.
I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

Well, I felt going to the ER was the best choice since I am a bit of a bleeder...

Glad to hear you weren't injured too seriously.

You've heard about the invention of the anti-slipping-mat, haven't you?

My mom had to have those staples put in her head after a fall.  I watched as they were inserted....OUCH!!!!

Didn't look like fun at all.

Hope you recover quickly!   :training:

Oh Roger I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. Staples aren't fun but I'm glad it wasn't worse than it could have been. Did you lose consciousness at all? I always worry about a concussion with a head injury.

What if the sentence went like this.

"I'm glad it wasn't as bad as it could have been."

Any better?
