I was unsure about them making a sequel for this one, but this looks beautiful.

While being beautiful is a good start, they will need a good story to keep us interested too. Cars is their weakest movie so far, so I was surprised when they announced the sequel. But to give credit where credit is due: with several of their films I thought "how is that gonna be interesting" and they always came around.

That's exactly why I was unsure. Cars seems to internationally known as being the film that everyone just thinks is just 'okay' in a sea of 'amazing' and 'outstanding'. When I first heard of the sequel it didn't make any sense to me, but then I thought that Pixar had to know what they are doing. Maybe they seek to redeem themselves for Cars with this sequel.

Strange. I absolutely loved Cars. It's not my top favorite, but not near my bottom either.

On the other hand, I all but hatted Ratatouille.
I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

That's all about taste, I guess. I mean, there we were again: "a film about a cooking rat? are you nuts?"! You are the first one I know though who likes Cars more than of the the other Pixar films.

Blair, your also the only person I've known who likes Cars above other Pixar films, especially Ratatouille. I suppose that just shows how diverse the fans are though.

Shame on them. It's all downhill now for that project!

Back to the OP concept art... a race around the Eastern World?

The first image gives me hope that they will do an effect that they didn't in the first: thickly and thinly rain-slicked roads with spray spinning from the tires. That's something I love the look of even in reality.

I hadn't thought of that but you're right, a rain covered road would look amazing if done correctly, I'm looking forward to seeing it now.

As for Brave I don't think it's all downhill for the film now, after all, it's not the first time Pixar have changed directors during production. I'm still very upset about it though, I was looking forward to seeing Pixars first film with a woman in the helm.
