For Karsten:

If you click that warning link shown in above image:

Quote
If you're the administrator of a site we've identified with this warning message, please visit the instructions found in our Webmaster Help Center to resolve the problem. Note that in some cases, third parties can add malicious code to legitimate sites, which would cause us to show the warning message.

Then again, I am sure you found that already...

Isn't there a white-list or go-there-anyway option in Firefox?

Don't think so, and anyway I'm not sure you'd want that.

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that you are a regular at site XYZ which is supported by ads supplied by company ABC. Let's say ABC's ad acceptance standards are, shall we say, a little dubious, and an infected ad makes it through the approval process.

Now, let's say you have XYZ on your whitelist. Despite is being reported as infected, which would have blocked it, because it is whitelisted, you go on the site, the ad appears and you are infected.

Granted, this is a very specific and somewhat unlikely chain of event. But it could happen. Actually, it did happen. On NYTimes.com no less.

Sure, this happens, but I trust my antivirus/antimalware software (NOD32) much more than I trust Googles sometimes false alerts. So I have turned off this option in Firefox. I don't want Google to spy on me more than I have to anyway since the URL of every site you visit is sent there otherwise.

Oh! A Doctor Who fan!

I just see it as an additional layer of protection. Especially since I have my antivirus offline most of the time.

As for Google spying on me - spy away! THey have most of my other stuff anyway: search, email, docs, etc. ;)

They even had my old messages that I posted 15 years ago in the Quebec Political newsgroup
If you think the DVDP forum is a lot of arguing with deaf peoples, you haven't seen this newsgroup in 1995... It was sure a war with a lot of cheapshots and a real hate of the other side (of course they were dumb in 95, they always are in 2010 and will be untill their death...).

I tried again with "Block reported attacked sites" enabled and did not get a warning this time around. Maybe the issue is resolved :)

Are you entirely positively sure about that?

I had the problem with the error too...though I can't remember when.  Maybe Wednesday..or yesterday.  I can't remember..serious lack of sleep over the last 4 days here.  Anyway, I used Explorer.  Working fine now.
