Big Lots
« on: September 06, 2010, 09:31:39 PM »
Big Lots has gotten in some terrific movies. I know, I know I'm supposed to be down sizing but they have bundled up 3 DVDs in a package and have them priced at $3. I mean who can resist a DVD for a buck?

Some of the ones I got:

Significant Others: The Series
Troubled Waters
Lassie
Trans
Unknown White Male
Chapter 27
The Ten Commandments
Open House
Dinner For Five: The Complete First Season

I can't remember the others but most of these sound really good. Oh how I love a good deal!  :yahoo:

All of Big Lots $3 DVDs are $2 when you use your Big Lots card today through Sunday. If you don't have a card you can sign up for one at the desk - it is free.

I picked up a lot of good ones including:

Dreamland
The Dust Factory
The Final Season
Illegal Tender
Kramer vs Kramer
The Narrows
Perfume
Racing With the Moon
The Right Stuff
Running with Scissors
Splinter
Superstar
Suspect Zero
Vantage Point: 2 Disc

They also have a bunch of new TV series in for $6 a season including:
Cheers Seasons 1-3
J*A*G Seasons 1-5
The Odd Couple Seasons 1-2
Sabrina the Teenage Witch Seasons 1-4

I thought that you were supposed to downsize your dvd collection :tease:

I think Kathy's definition of the word downsizing is different to ours.

:lol

I found a few DVDs I was interested in at Dollar Tree earlier this week.  That's a store where everything is a dollar.  The one I was in had a small section of movies.  Most I haven't heard of, but I found 2, only $1 each.  The friend I was with found one for $1 as well.

It's too bad we don't have Big Lots up here in Canada. I'd be all over some of those $6 TV sets...   :drooling:

Unfortunately all Big Lots are not created the same... our local big lots does have the $3 DVDs and $6 sets... but they seldomly get any sets in... and usually what they do get in I already have. And there DVD selection pretty much sucks. :(

I personally would love to get my hands on those Odd Couple sets though... I haven't seen that show in many years! I will have to keep checking in at our local Big Lots anyway I guess.

I usually go there every week or so to pick up my cat litter.

I don't see TV series there that often but this week they had a new big box with them on top of the other DVDs.

I don't go to Big Lots often here..I'll have to start stopping in more often.  I did see DVDs...but when I was last there, I didn't have the time to really look through them all, so not sure what might have been there.  I think I saw a few good ones.

My niece wanted to go and pick up a few things so we went to the store closest to her...I ended up finding the first two seasons of another TV series Roswell 1 and Roswell 2.

Does anyone know anything about this series? It sounded pretty good and Sci-Fi is one of my favorite genres.

I have all 3 seasons of Roswell... and I really liked it. Been a while since I seen it... may have to do an episode review thread for that one before too long. :)

I've got, and watched all three seasons of this and enjoyed it quite a bit.  This is the first thing I ever saw Katherine Heigl in.  Brendan Fehr is the spitting image of a young Richard Gere!

I think you'll like it alot.

I'm glad I picked it up then - I wasn't sure because I couldn't remember reading anyone's post on it.

I just finished watching Toy Story 3, loved it, and since I have to work tonight so I might have time to watch a few of Toy Story's bonus features.

I might start Roswell or I might watch Pans Labyrinth first. I'll decide tomorrow when I get home in the afternoon.
