The Incredible Hulk
Marathon
Dr. David Banner: physician; scientist. Searching for a way to tap into the hidden strengths that all humans have. Then an accidental overdose of gamma radiation alters his body chemistry. And now when David Banner grows angry or outraged, a startling metamorphosis occurs. The creature is driven by rage and pursued by an investigative reporter.  (Bixby: "Mr. McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.") The creature is wanted for a murder he didn't commit. David Banner is believed to be dead, and he must let the world think that he is dead, until he can find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him.

The Incredible Hulk: Pilot Movies

1. THE INCREDIBLE HULK
Airdate: Nov. 4, 1977
In this thrilling two-hour movie, Dr. David Banner inadvertently exposes himself to a high amount of gamma radiation and is horrified to discover that in moments of frustration and anger he is transformed into the incredibly powerful Hulk.

Guest Stars:
Susan Sullivan
Susan Batson
Mario Gallo

My Thoughts:
This was always one of my favorite shows at the time it originally aired. I still enjoy it very much. I like this origin story they made... even if it don't stay accurate to the comics. I also liked the little nod they gave to Frankenstein... where The Hulk met up with the little girl near the lake. And of course the most famous line of the entire series is from this movie."Mr. McGee, Don't make me angry... You wouldn't like me when I am Angry."

I remember when The Incredible Hulk first aired as a TV-movie.  I was quite excited to see it...the problem is I didn't have TV cable yet!   A friend said he'd record it for me so I took my Betamax  :bag: to his place and he recorded it for me while I was off at work that night.  I watched the second movie and the first season (at least) but then I decided it was too hokey to continue with.   :tv:

too hokey... really? OK... I can see that... but I still loved every minute of it. And I am so thrilled to now have all the episodes and all the TV Movies in my collection now!  :yahoo:

The Incredible Hulk: Pilot Movies

2. DEATH IN THE FAMILY
Airdate: Nov. 27, 1977
While searching for his mysterious conditions cure, David doesn't shy away from battling a wealthy and powerful ranching family, a grizzly bear and, most importantly, his own temper in this action-packed two-hour movie.

Guest Stars:
Laurie Prange
Dorothy Tristan
John McLiam
Mills Watson
William Daniels
Gerald McRaney

My Thoughts:
This is the second Movie length feature before the regular episodes started. And another very good one. I enjoyed it a lot. One thing that for some reason never got old to me is the reaction of people when they first see The Hulk. It gives me a bit of a chuckle every time. Something in this specific episode that I had to laugh at is the scene from the above screen cap... when the old dude gave The Hulk a drink of his whiskey! First when he first saw The Hulk... in the middle of taking a drink he comes out with "Pink Elephants is one thing... but this is something new." Then he goes to give The Hulk some of his chicken he made... gave Hulk a chicken leg... and Hulk shoves the whole thing in his mouth... chews... and swallows. The old guy sat there with a shocked look on his face and said... "Bones and all... he ate the whole thing... bones and all!" I couldn't help but to crack up on that one! I also liked The Hulk fighting the bear in the river... that was pretty cool to watch even thought the bear flying through the air looked so fake it was unreal. This one guest stars Gerald McRaney who I used to watch all the time in Major Dad.

The Incredible Hulk: Season 1

1. THE FINAL ROUND
Airdate: March 10, 1978
A boxer comes to David's aid when he is mugged and then finds him work at a gym, but the gloves are off when it's discovered that the boss is also a drug dealer.

Guest Stars:
Martin Kove
Fran Myers
Al Ruscio
Paul Henry Itkin
Ron Trice

My Thoughts:
For the first actual episode of the series... it isn't one of the best. But it is entertaining. Something I was meaning to mention earlier... I forgot how the first season they used a green glow over his face when he changes. Not the best of effects... and they do change it in future seasons (forget exactly where). I always thought this glow had a cheap look to it.

The Incredible Hulk: Season 1

2. THE BEAST WITHIN
Airdate: March 17, 1978
A jog at a zoo introduces David to a female scientist who is conducting genetic research that may help him gain a better understanding of his own condition.

Guest Stars:
Caroline McWilliams
Richard Kelton
Dabbs Greer
Charles Lampkin
Jean Durand

My Thoughts:
This one I enjoyed quite a bit. I liked the setting of the zoo... that is something I haven't done in years. Should see if Britt is interested in going to the zoo for a few hours one day soon. As I said earlier... I really get a kick out of the reactions of people the first time they see The Hulk... and I must admit...I got a kick out of it this time too... only this time it was a gorilla (guy in gorilla suit I am sure). David gets locked in the cage with an angry gorilla... gorilla goes on the attack... causing David to change. As he changed the gorilla stops his attack in his tracks... looking at David. He then just tilts his head to one side... like saying WTF!

The Incredible Hulk: Season 1

3. OF GUILT, MODELS AND MURDER
Airdate: March 24, 1978
The picture isn't pretty when David awakens in a room next to a dead model. Is the Hulk a killer?

Guest Stars:
Jeremy Brett
Loni Anderson
Jane Alice Brandon
Ben Gerard
Deanna Lund

My Thoughts:
In my opinion they had the idea of a great storyline... where David believes he actually killed someone while he was The Hulk. But they blew it when they took the idea and made it into an episode. I just found that I didn't care about the characters in this one. Though it was nice to see a young and beautiful Loni Anderson.

The Incredible Hulk: Season 1

4. TERROR IN TIMES SQUARE
Airdate: March 31, 1978
David finds work in a Times Square arcade, but the job is hardly fun and games when he realizes that the owner is being blackmailed, and he also uncovers a murder plot.

Guest Stars:
Robert Alda
Jack Kruschen
Arny Freeman
Pamela Shoop
Karl Held

My Thoughts:
I definitely liked this episode more then the last one. But for me it still wasn't quite up to par. A good episode... but I just found it somewhat average.

The Incredible Hulk: Season 1

5. 747
Airdate: April 7, 1978
Terror soars new heights when David and a young boy must land an airplane after the flight crew is disabled.

Guest Stars:
Edward Power
Sondra Currie
Denise Galik
Brandon Cruz
Howard Honig

My Thoughts:
This one I enjoyed quite a bit. I liked that it took place in the confines of a plane. It is a good thing The Hulk retains some of what David knew before the changed or he could have torn that plane to pieces while in mid air.

The Incredible Hulk: Season 1

6. THE HULK BREAKS LAS VEGAS
Airdate: April 21, 1978
The stakes are high when David takes a jobin a Las Vegas casino and agrees to help a reporter who's working on a piece about a gambling scandal.

Guest Stars:
Julie Gregg
John Crawford
Dean Santoro
Don Marshall
Simone Griffeth

My Thoughts:
Not a bad episode... but not one of my favorites. In this one the reporter Jack McGee gets the first hint that The Hulk is a person and not a full time creature. He don't see the change completely... but he is there when The Hulk starts to change back to David. Only for someone to shoot at The Hulk making him anger again and run off.

7. NEVER GIVE A TRUCKER AN EVEN BREAK
Airdate: April 28, 1978
It's full-throttle action when David aids a female trucker on the road for vengeance against highjackers who took her father's rig.

Guest Stars:
Jennifer Darling
Frank R. Christi
Grand Bush
Peggy Doyle
Don Starr

My Thoughts:
This is another just average episode. At the time this was made it must have been pretty unusual having a female trucker like this.

The Incredible Hulk: Season 1

8. LIFE AND DEATH
Airdate: May 12, 1978
David becomes friends with a pregnant woman, and together they uncover a chilling plot to steal infants for use in DNA experimentation.

Guest Stars:
Julie Adams
Andrew Robinson
Carl Franklin
Diane Civita
Mitzi Hoag

My Thoughts:
This is a good one here. It takes on a pretty sticky subject... so much so that they felt the need to put a notation at the beginning of the episode stating that this story is fiction none of it is based on a true story. This is another one I got a kick out of. The look on an old guy's face when he gets stuck in an elevator with The Hulk.

The Incredible Hulk: Season 1

9. EARTHQUAKES HAPPEN
Airdate: May 19, 1978
Hoping to access gamma-ray equipment, David poses as a scientist inspecting a nuclear research facility and becomes trapped in the complex when a devastating earthquake strikes.

Guest Stars:
Sherry Jackson
Peter Brandon
Gary Wood
Kene Holliday
Lynne Topping

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode. I enjoyed it quite a bit. This episode has the rare occasion (maybe only time?) Where David uses a totally different name. Instead of using David plus a made up last name starting with B. Of course this is a necessary thing since he is impersonating another person.

The Incredible Hulk: Season 1

10. THE WATERFRONT STORY
Airdate: May 31, 1978
After taking a job in a Texas dock tavern, David becomes immersed in a ruthless world of union politics.

Guest Stars:
Sheila Larken
James Sikking
Jack Kelly
Helen Page Camp
Ted Markland

My Thoughts:
What you know... this one originally aired on May 31st. It originally aired on my birthday. I just turned 9 years old when it first aired. This one is also a rare occasion when the episode opens with a scene of The Hulk. I am not very politically minded.. so that part of the storyline didn't do too much for me. But it was a small part of it... so it is still an entertaining episode.
