Dragonfire

I either missed that post completely or just forgot I read it.  Either is possible since work was a bit crazy for me at the time it was posted.

Ummm. I think I'm going to take a ride to the farmers market and get a bunch of fruit for a salad. Thanks!

Antares

I drive my wife nuts in the summer time. She'll make up large containers of fruit salad, and if they're still in the fridge after a day or two and she hasn't touched them, I consider them free game. She'll go to get some and it's all gone. I'm not trying to be selfish, but I'd rather gorge myself on fruit as opposed to junk food. I've been known to eat whole watermelons in one sitting. I really, really love fresh fruit.

Kathy

Fresh fruit is only good for a day or two so you are exactly right to eat the whole thing...you greedy thing you!

I'm the same way - I make a fruit salad and its gone that same day. I'm with a community co-op and all the produce is local and chemical free. It's more expensive and doesn't look as good as store bought but the flavors are fantastic.

If I eat a peach I have to do so by the sink or outside because they are so succulent the juice just runs down my face. I know you perverts are going to love that line but its the truth!  :tease:

That's why the store produce looks perfect, it's the chemicals.

But I think Joni Mitchell put it best...

Give me sparks on the apples, but leave me the birds and the bees...please!

Just a place to express the virtues of the creature comforts we all like to indulge in.

For me, it's enjoying a delicious glass of either Port or Madeira wine, as I'm doing right now.

As I'm getting older, I'm finding that I'm gravitating more towards the sweet wines in general.
Me too. I liked all of the heavy dry red wines for years but have lately drifted toward ports and sweet whites, like Gewürztraminers and Rieslings.

I like the Maudite and Fin du Monde too but these two can slam you and end your evening pretty early  :drunk:.
Thanks. I'll make a note of it.
