I almost bought a horror movie yesterday...the classic first version of The Wolfman.  I saw one copy of the DVD there (not the Legacy Collection) but it was obviously in the wrong spot so I didn't even know what it cost.  I'm thinking of ordering Birds of Prey today (Pete would probably say "finally!")   and I may order a few other things so maybe I'll order some classic horror.  I may order the Legacy Wolfman set...I do already have the Legacy Frankenstein set and I have copies of Frankenstein and Creature From The Black Lagoon but there are still several I don't have.  Is their a Legacy set on The Mummy?

Wow, there's more Legacy sets than I thought.  I have now placed an order...I ordered 5 items.  3 of them might qualify as Halloween-appropriate things to watch...the other 2 are westerns.  I ordered...

Birds of Prey--Dark & Moody Superhero Fare
The Wolfman Legacy Collection
The Mummy Legacy Collection
Cheyenne Autumn--John Ford Western
Hannie Caulder--Western starring Raquel Welch.  This will give me the Raquel Western Trifecta as I already own Bandolero! and 100 Rifles.

I wasn't planning on doing the Halloween Horror Marathon but I'll now have at least a small (classic) horror collection so maybe I'll try taking part after all.

Cool.
I have been picking up the Legacy sets over the last few years.  I have Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolfman, and Mummy sets.  I still have the ones for Creature from Black Lagoon and Invisible Man on my wish list at Amazon.

I placed another order last night and ordered two more of the Legacy sets...The Invisible Man and Dracula.  I also ordered Mary Reilly and one non-scary movie, the western Wagon Master.

Does anyone own a copy of Freaks?  I thought of ordering it but a few of the reviewers at Amazon.com weren't real happy with the quality of the DVD for this movie.

Do you mean this one?

If so I don't see what the reviewers complaint about since it's a great release full of interesting extra.

Don't forget that amazon place all the review for a movie in the same place and they aren't dvd specific.

I haven't decided yet... but I am toying with the idea of not watching any movies from this point on. I am thinking this only because I have to watch a LOAD of movies next month... and I need a good start so need to really be in the mood for movies when it starts.

Only problem with this idea... I just got a LOAD of movies... and there is a few I really want to see. Though I really don't have that long to wait now... just under 3 weeks.

Well, well worth it. The extras alone make it worth it.

Here's my review of it for HorrorTalk with some screen grabs.

I love this movie.

:thanks:  Thanks, everyone.  I may order that after all...but not right now.  I already placed two orders within the last week.

OK... thinking about this there is no way I can completely stop movie watching till October. First of all would be too hard. And also... What happens when one of the days I announce birthdays there is none from TV Shows for me. If I ban movies I instantly fail that marathon.

So I will just do my best to keep it limited till October gets here.

You know what John Wayne would say...a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do...or something to that effect...  ;D

I've gone ahead and ordered that DVD of Freaks...and a few others (non-horror) but that's probably it for my orders until next month at least.

Freaks isn't really an horror movie, for some it is (I have no idea why since it's a drama) but for me it certainly isn't. I don't think I would have watch it yesterday if it was since I can't watch horror for 16 other days...
