Our movie rating system
« on: May 31, 2010, 07:55:08 PM »
Because we have now a lot of new members, I thought I would introduce our "DCO rating system" for our reviews. Of course it is not obligatory to use it (not all of us do).

There is a button on the "post reply" page called "Encore rating 5=Best, 0=Worst" (right next to the WhatYaGot buttons). It will insert "mr" tags and the number you will enter in-between them is your rating and will be mapped to the correct smiley.
The ratings are:
0 = (bad or worse)
1 = (boring)
2 = (not really bad, but not good either)
3 = (I enjoyed it)
4 = (now that was quite good)
5 = (Excellent!)

You can roughly think of it as a star rating going from 0 to 5 stars.

@Karsten: Maybe we should pin it somewhere. You are welcome to move my post or make a new post with a better wording and remove mine.

Nothing prevent you to use any system you want (of course I love the current one as I was the creator of it :whistle:), but you won't be able to use the icon to do it automatically.

:o
 :hmmmm:
 :yahoo:
:o What the hell was that...? (Whoa...)
:stars: What the hell was that (WTF)
:hmmmm: I don't get it...
:yahoo: Abolute winner!

Good additions, but as Jimmy said, the others basically represent a scale from 0-5, so others will be outside of that.

Ok, Forget about all this smiles and why not back to the original movie rating system...

G — General Audiences. All Ages Admitted.
PG — Parental Guidance Suggested. Some Material May Not Be Suitable For Children.
PG-13 — Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13.
R — Restricted. Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian.
NC-17 — No One 17 and Under Admitted.

But i don't like this very much :)

Because this had nothing to do with movie rating... it's a movie review system :shrug:

The german rating system in a nutshell:

FSK-12: The good guy gets the girl.
FSK-16: The bad guy gets the girl.
FSK-18: Everyone gets the girl.

Are you an idiot :whistle:

Seriously I haven't seen you contribute anything here except the post where you were so proud to have stole 36 movies :whistle:

Do you really think I give a fuck about your picture... Wich by the way had far more TV stuff than horror and is incredibly small for a photography taken by yourself...

Maybe you should use the spam link in your avatar and your link to learn some language skills as you fail to understand a simple fact like the difference between the MPAA rating and a film review system.

Usually I'm a patient guy, but when I see a newbie who use a spam link as signature, who don't post anything usefull, who had the nerve to critic a system working for years in a website, who is a thief and who sound like a spam robot I tend to lost my nerves.

So try to be usefull before criticizing the procedure already well etablished on a website or if this is too hard for you try imdb as they have no problem with useless spambot.

I like my system best

I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!
