Unfortunately for me this Friday, November 1st is a holiday in Southern Germany or else my operation would take place then. Now it's scheduled to be on Monday but since I'm feeling way better I'm hoping to get leave over the weekend to be back on on Sunday.

Is it to remove more gallstones or the gallbladder?

Hope you feel better real soon!

Brittany's roommate Rhiana had her gallbladder completely removed right before college started. By the time  met her at college she was up and about with no problems at all. This was about a week later. She was still under restrictions not to left much weight but she was fine other then that.

Hi,

i'm out again! :) The operation was postponed (yet not yet cancelled). Next week I will get over the hospital results with my family doctor* and listen to his advice on the matter (I trust in doctors but on the other hand surgeons love to cut or else they would not be surgeons).

*my first instinct was to translate "Hausarzt" with "personal physician" but that sounded as if I'm rich or famous or something. ;)

That is great news Karsten. It is always best to get a second or third opinion before surgery. Maybe the English term you are thinking of is "Primary Physician"?

Fact 1)
For the past few years I've been driving with a colleague/friend to work. We both live in the same town and essentially work for the same company. He used to be my boss but then was reassigned to another department. But we're still driving together. One week he does, one week I am.

Fact 2)
In Germany on December 6th is "Nikolaus" which is kind of a pre-christmas christmas. For children it means that on the evening of Dec 5th they have to clean their winter boots and if they were good then the Nikolaus would put some sweets into their boots to be found the next day.

Last Sunday I had to ask my friend to drive me to the hospital and he did without hesitation. He also emptied my mailbox and retrieved my Amazon parcels for me and just delivered all of it to my apartment. So, to repay his kindness I made a Nikolaus boot for him and secretly delivered it to his house today. I know that it's technically Halloween but that holiday is just not big over here and I just wanted to show my appreciation.

And now I'm off, profiling my newest arrivals.

Tomorrow morning (Fri 22nd) I go back into the hospital to get my gallbladder removed.

If everything's going to plan I'm going to be released on Monday already.

If I'm really lucky I could even be released on Sunday (though I doubt it due to being a weekend day*)

*In Germany, hospitals are only staffed with a core crew on weekends to tend to hospitalized patients and emergencies. There are no planned operations on Saturday / Sunday and I doubt they have the time to do the paperwork that comes with a release.

Wish me luck :)

I think the hospitals here tend to do that surgery as outpatient or just an overnight stay unless there is a complication.
