....and back already.

I think the main thought I brought back from this trip is: Why are the car manufacturers making a first gear for cars when it's clearly not needed... ::)
(I don't think any of the taxi drivers ever shifted down to first gear )

Otherwise we had a great time, although there wasn't much to see really. But the food was good and we had fun.

Good to see you!

You should only need 1st gear when pulling away?

If you mean "to get the car going", "to accelarate from 0 upwards", then yes, of course. but the Chinese (at least on Hainan) seem to make it their challenge not to use it.

Depends on the model. The vans I used to drive could pull away in third! Diesel helps.

I hasten to add it was always by accident. The Citroen's gear box was as easy to find third in than first...

I won't be here this weekend, so don't worry if I don't log or don't answer PM untill sunday. It's the birthday of the baby of the familly, not that he really care if his uncle is present or not since he only had one year old. But this is more an excuse to pass the weekend with the twins since they have requested my precence, so I'm a kid again for 3 days :yu:

It's fun to play outdoors with two six years old boys, even more when we don't have kids.
It's the good part to have kids without the less good one, but it's an uncle role

I learned yesterday that my sister was home with my 3 nieces and that the middle one kept asking where I was every 5-10 minutes. I love being an uncle! All the fun, none of the hassle

Not gone yet...
It's tomorrow and sunday that I'll see them (since now kids had school all day in their first school years), too bad the weather is awesome here today (it's relatively hot, no wind at all and full of snow) hopes it will be same tomorrow.
