I've got one. The games are fun and it can be a good laugh for groups of people. I've never had a problem with its operation and in fact from what I've heard, it's very reliable. Unlike the Xbox.

And the PS3

I thought the PS3 was sort of renowned for being more reliable in terms of how long the console will live for than the Xbox. I've heard of the red ring of death from 360 players and it seems that some of them actually go through quite a lot of consoles.

....They are both pretty unreliable. Ive never heard of a broken Wii until you said it... I know numerous people who have had problems with the PS3 and Xbox 360

Hmm, I've never heard of a PS3 red blinking light before, but I suppose it could happen. I haven't had any problem with mine since I got it.

While maybe more reliable than XBox, the PS3 still has quite common failures too. Mine failed just short of two years owning it, they told me some sort of motherboard problem that couldn't be fixed easily. I understand usually it's some chip coming loose once the glue has been heated up a lot and dried out.

On a happy note:

Played the demo for Dead Space 2 today! Looks awesome, feels like the first one and several gameplay improvement in the demo alone. Now I can't wait even less

Yes the PS3 may have had some issues but it never came close to reaching a fail rate of 80%, unlike the Xbox.

I had Dead Space on the Xbox but I had to sell it because it became was tainted. I plan on buying it again on PS3, which is now only $30. It's one of the scariest games I've played, I love it!

Remembering the fact that I'm a total wimp, do you think Dead Space would be too scary for me?

Thought so. I think I might give that series a miss.

Not all girls are as wimpy around horror as I am. Most of my female friends love horror films etc, I'm just the exception as I just can't deal with horror.
