It cost £35 Jon from HMV so I was pretty happy about that! Lol ive been looking at it for a long time now and I just flipped

Dammit, it really holds its price! It is an excellent set and worth every penny, but I'm a stingy git and I've been spoilt in the past, like getting the entire Chaplin collection for £25. ;)

:o you got Chaplin for £25? I was going to get that a while back but refused to pay £40 for it.

I got it off Ebay. It was someone's unwanted gift I believe, still sealed and had a HMW price tag on of something like £59.

Hammer are a UK based production company that produced some pretty awesome horror films between the 50s and 70s Ive not seen all the films in this collection around 8 or 9 but they were very good. Id recommend them to you Pete knowing your a fan of horror... Although :S im not sure of their availability in the US

Yeah... I just never seen the most of them. The only one I have in my collection... which I at least think is a Hammer Horror is The Satanic Rites of Dracula. Which I watched once when I first got it years ago... but don't really remember all that much about it.

There is some Hammer Horror sets released over here... but nothing like that set that I can find.

Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing were regulars, often teaming up (Lee's Dracula to Cushing's Van Helsing). I just did a quick search on his name on Deep Discount and found this for a mere $8... Double-Bill

That's the first Frankenstein they did, but not the first Dracula. Still, continuity really doesn't matter, they're such fun!

It's impressive they have the relatively rare Prince of Darkness in there, but some other glaring omissions.

My absolute favourite was a Hammer TV episode called The Children of the Full Moon, which starred Diana Dors. Anyone else remember this one?

Received this morning from InetVideo.ca

Have you seen this one before, Eric? Be warned it's long and not a huge amount happens, as such. I know you liked Jesse James, so you don't mind a steady approach, but still, better to be forewarned. I look forward to your comments. I reviewed it for the Oscar marathon here.

Come to think of it, you might like The New World too. Just don't listen to Rick or Rick!

No Jon, I've never seen it.  A friend who's 56 told me he found it very good but his 20'ish son didn't so I guess that's good news for me  ;D

Quick question Eric, I collect HD DVDs but have found that they are starting to rise in price, are you finding them cheap on a website ive not thought of looking at?
