From Jimmy I would have expected an "Avoid under all circumstances" for this.
I like this film ;D
This is a great film to watch when you feel bad, you can't be unhappy anymore after.

We have a different taste on movies then.
I see it as one of the few socially accepted reasons to commit suicide.

Invasion: The Complete Series
Hurricane Eve slams into Homestead, Florida. Its tragic aftermath is what you'd expect: destroyed homes, downed power lines, uprooted lives. And what you wouldn't expect: townspeople eerily and profoundly transformed into... something different. Frighteningly different. And possibly extraterrestrial.

Follow every twist, turn and shocking revelation of this suspenseful series from the mind of Shaun Cassidy as two blended Homestead families, the Varons and the Underlays, uncover the truth about themselves and their town. Their families are just like ours — loving parents, kids who need guidance, and of course, one black sheep. In this case it's Dave, an amiable out-of-work blogger who sees a conspiracy behind every event and alien behind every conspiracy. Only this time he may be right!

The way Campbell sees it, secretive Cole is also something else: suspect #1 in their murder investigation.

TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection - Holiday

TCM Holiday Collection includes ...

It Happened on 5th Avenue
No one is inside that boarded-up mansion on Manhattan's ritzy 5th Avenue, right? Wrong. Its secret inhabitants include a philosophizing hobo and some GI families who are unable to find apartments during the post-World War II housing crunch. They set up residence in the posh brownstone while the owner, the second richest man in the world, winters in Virginia. Except the owner isn't in Virginia. He's there in disguise...and discovering a lot about how the average Joe and Jane think and live.

It Happened on 5th Avenue. And it happens with a talented cast and an Oscar®-nominated* tale set during the holidays. Make yourself at home and discover why this is a yuletide delight to discover.

*1947: Best Original Story.
The Shop Around the Corner
Tell bickering Budapest gift-shop workers Alfred and Klara that they love each other and they might call you crazy. No lovers can compare to the romantic, secret pen pals each knows only as Dear Friend.

What Alfred and Klara don't know, or course, is that they are each other's Dear Friend. In the third of their four luminous screen pairings, Margaret Sullivan and James Stewart star in this valentine to love wrapped in the ribbon of director Ernst Lubitsch's trademark touch: wit instead of buffoonery, sentiment instead of sentimentality, affection instead of attitude.

As enchanting as it was yesterday, The Shop Around the Corner was breezily updated to the electronic age when Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan clicked together in You've Got Mail. In any age, your patronage will be cheerfully rewarded.
Christmas in Connecticut
In her Smart Housekeeping column, Elizabeth Lane provides festive recipes and homemaking hints. But Elizabeth's got a secret: she needs a recipe to boil water. Elizabeth has no cooking skills, no Connecticut farm, no adoring hubby and no baby-makes-three as depicted in her column. She better get them. Because Elizabeth's boss has invited himself and a recently returned war hero to her home for Christmas.

Laughs, romance, holiday cheer: that's the recipe Barbara Stanwyck and a stellar company of Warner Bros. players follow in this amiable farce that was a huge hit with 1945 audiences and has become a perennial seasonal favorite. Have a very merry Christmas In Connecticut.
A Christmas Carol (1938)
"May it haunt [my readers'] houses pleasantly," Charles Dickens wrote in the preface to his A Christmas Carol. This 1938 version offers one of that timeless work's most pleasant screen hauntings, bustling with a lavish backlot re-creation of Victorian London. Reginald Owen portrays holiday humbug Ebenezer Scrooge, the miser's miser who has a huge change of heart after spirits whisk him into the past, present and future.

Gene Lockhart, who like Owen would appear in well over 100 films, plays dutiful Bob Cratchit. There's a genuine air of family in the Cratchit household scenes, in part because Lockhart's real-life wife Kathleen plays Mrs. Cratchit. From sets to stars to story, this triumphant adaptation adds a glow to the season. Like Tiny Tim's benediction, it blesses us - every one.

Here is what was waiting for me under the Christmas Tree this morning...

I Dream of Jeannie: The Complete Series
Year: 1965 | 3138 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Your Wish Is Granted!

Finally, all five seasons in one collectible set! Catch all 139 magical episodes, beginning when Major Tony Nelson discovers a life-changing bottle on a deserted island and ending with a dreamy Jeannie wedding.

The Girl from the Naked Eye
Year: 2012 | 84 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Jake (Jason Lee), an ex-gambler trying to pay off a debt, works as a driver for The Naked Eye, a private gentleman's club that fronts for a prostitution ring. When one of the high-class escorts is found murdered, Jake will stop at nothing to find her killer. Leaving a bloody trail in his wake, he risks everything to uncover the truth and take his vengeance.

plus I also got a new DVD Player

The only down-side to that I Dream of Jeannie set is that the first season in this set is the colorized version... don't know why they didn't make the complete series set with the original B&W Season 1 discs. Well... the packaging leaves some to be desired as well... but I can deal with that a little more then the colorized episodes.

Excellent Christmas!! DVD-wise, I got:

Black Butler: Season 1 (Blu-Ray/DVD combo Pack)

(Believe it or not, the one in the dress is a boy. The cover picture is from Episode 4 - That Butler, Capricious - where both of them were in disguise to catch a kidnapper)
Summary: CIEL PHANTOMHIVE is the most powerful boy in all of England, but he bears the scars of unspeakable suffering. Forced to watch as his beloved parents were brutally murdered, Ciel was subsequently abducted and violently tortured. Desperate to end his suffering, the boy traded his own soul for a chance at vengeance, casting his lot with the one person on whom he could depend: Sebastian, a demon Butler summoned from the very pits of hell. Together, they'll prowl the darkest alleys of London on a mission to snuff out those who would do evil.

They're a rare sight, these two: the Butler who dismembers with dazzling cutlery – and the Young Master who carries the devil's marking. Rest assured that wherever they may be headed, it'll be one hell of a ride.

Otherwise:

new HD TV (19 inches)
a new necklace which is a sword sticking through what appears to be Dia de los Muertos-style skulls
a special family ring
a Fullmetal Alchemist pocket watch (in the anime, it is the watch that the main character, Edward Elric, carries with him. He received it upon entering the military as a State Alchemist at the age of 12, earning him a rank equivalent to that of a Major. Pretty much, it's a functioning fictional-status symbol. It's a little small, but I'm very impressed with the detail. His teacher's family crest is on the clock's face, the military symbol is on the front, and they even included his inscription on the inside, which says "Don't Forget 3. Oct 11" to commemorate when Edward burned down his family home so that there would not be a place to go back to, a symbolic way of moving forward)
a preorder for the Chronicles of Vladimir Tod graphic novel
a set of six Black Butler figurines with a free pin included

I got $40 as a Hot Topic gift card from my Aunt Lisa. With it, I ordered:

a Grell Sutcliff t-shirt
spiked bracelet
rubber Vampire Knight bracelet
some pins (Spider-Man, Deadpool, 2 zombie-themed, and I <3 Music)

from my grandmother:

a basket of fruit and chocolate
"Navy for women" perfume and lotion
$50 which I intend to first use to buy the Blu-Ray/DVD Combo set of Level E and then save the rest

Also, as I forgot to mention before, I got the following DVDs in a trade.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood: Complete Collection Two

The heavens tremble and the planet quakes as the souls of heroes and villains teeter on the edge of darkness and light. The final chapter of the sweeping epic - Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - is here!

As Edward and Alphonse Elric draw closer to the fabled Philosopher's Stone, a mysterious new enemy appears: Father, the creator of the deadly Homunculi. His alchemy is impossibly powerful, and his dark plot threatens millions of lives. Fortunately for the Elrics, new allies rise to join the fight, including General Olivier Armstrong, a warrior of icy nerve and intensity. Her troops are the toughest in the land, and with the nation on the brink of chaos and ravenous monsters stalking the streets, the Elric Brothers are going to need all the help they can get.

Vampire Knight: The Complete Series

Ten years earlier, a Pureblood vampire, Kaname Kuran, saved Yuki Cross from another vampire's attack. Now, Yuki is a Guardian at Cross Academy, where the Night Class and Day Class students live side by side in relative harmony—despite the fact that the Night Class students are all vampires! Yuki and her partner Zero keep watch over the Day Class and protect the Night Class's secret. With Kaname's help, a peaceful coexistence has been maintained so far, but a looming shadow is about to be cast over their world...

Vampire Knight Guilty: The Complete Series

Yuki is torn between the two people she cares for most when Zero is accused of Shizuka Hio's murder and Kaname refuses to attest to his innocence. Drawn deeper into the world of vampires, Yuki struggles to recall the events of ten years earlier but fails time and again. Kaname evades Yuki's quesions about the past, but when her visions of blood grow more frequent and intense, the past may come to light whether she wants it to or not!

It's time I added a few things in my collection.  I think it had been almost a year without buying when I got LOTR 2 weeks ago.

For my fellow Quebec members, if you have a Archambault store nearby, today they have a "4 for 3" sale (in stores only).  Buy any four items in the store and the cheapest of the 4 is free

Today I bought.
