Nicolas Cage is winningly quirky as Roy, genius at crime and basket case in life because he's an agoraphobe, a germaphobe and suddenly a parent. Sam Rockwell is wily Frank. And Alison Lohman plays the wild child at Roy's door. For fun, suspense and brain-busting twists, nothing's hotter than Matchstick Men.
Gothika
At Woodward Penitentiary for Women, an unexpected and highly disturbed inmate is now held in the psych ward once overseen by criminal psychologist Miranda Grey. The inmate: Dr. Grey herself.

Halle Berry portrays Grey, accused of a savage murder and clinging to her sanity as she copes with a series of ghostly encounters in Gothika, from Dark Castle Entertainment. A fellow doctor (Robert Downey Jr.), a volatile inmate (Penélope Cruz) and others figure in her harrowing ordeal. Mathieu Kassovitz directs this jolting ghost story in which strange voices cry out, messages scrawled in blood appear, specters arise – and the only thing more gripping than Grey's stark awakening into madness is her feverish attempt to escape it.
The Matrix Reloaded
Sentinels swarm. Smith clones. Neo flies... but perhaps not even a Chosen One gifted with astonishing new powers can stop the advance of the Machines.

Neo, Morpheus, Trinity. They're back for the powerful second chapter of The Matrix trilogy, and exciting new allies join them in the struggle against foes who are cloned, upgraded and closing in on humanity's last enclave. Back, too, are the Wachowski Brothers and producer Joel Silver, expanding their vision with a spectacle that rocks the senses, probes the heart and shapes filmmaking's tomorrows. What is the Matrix? The question is not yet fully answered. And it leads to another: Who created The Matrix? The answers lead to more worlds of bold possibility - and to a destiny that passes from revelations to Revolutions.
48 HRS.
Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy make one of the most unusual and entertaining teams ever in Walter Hill's roller-coaster thriller, 48 HRS. Nolte is a rough-edged cop after two vicious cop-killers. He can't do it without the help of smooth and dapper Murphy, who is serving time for a half-million dollar robbery. This unlikely partnersip trades laughs as often as punches as both pursue their separate goals: Nolte wants the villains; Murphy wants his money and some much-needed female companionship. Watch for Murphy's hilarious scene in a redneck country-western bar — you'll want to see it again and again.
Face/Off
FBI agent Sean Archer (John Travolta) knows how to stop elusive terrorist Castor Troy (Nicolas Cage). He'll become him. Archer undergoes a futuristic surgery and has Troy's face mapped onto his, then infiltrates the terrorist's world to discover his deadly secrets. But as much as Archer looks and acts like Troy, he doesn't really know him. He never figures Troy will retaliate and force doctors to transform him into Archer. Now the agent faces a shattering nightmare: his archrival is living with his family.

The Travolta/Cage star-power comes on strong and so does the excitement in this roaring thrill machine of a movie directed by John Woo (Broken Arrow). So buckle up. It's going to be a furious fight.
Braveheart
Mel Gibson stars on both sides of the camera, playing the lead role plus directing and producing this brawling, richly-detailed saga of fierce combat, tender love and the will to risk all that's precious for something more precious: freedom. In an emotionally charged performance, Gibson is William Wallace, a bold Scotsman who used the steel of his blade and the fire of his intellect to rally his country-men to liberation. Filled with sword-clanging spectacle, Braveheart is a tumultuous tapestry of history come alive, "the most sumptuous and involving historical epic since Lawrence of Arabia" (Rod Lurie, Los Angeles Magazine).
Forrest Gump
Forrest Gump is the movie triumph that became a phenomenon. Tom Hanks gives an astonishing performance as Forrest, an everyman whose simple innocence comes to embody a generation. The winner of six Academy Awards®, including Best Picture, Best Director (Robert Zemeckis) and Best Actor (Tom Hanks).
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Neal Page is an advertising executive who just wants to fly home to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with his family. But all Neal Page gets is misery. Misery named Del Griffith — a loud mouthed, but nevertheless lovable, salesman who leads Neal on a cross-country, wild goose chase that keeps Neal from tasting his turkey.

Steve Martin (Neal) and John Candy (Del) are absolutely wonderful as two guys with a knack for making the worst of a bad situation.

If it's painful, funny, or just plain crazy, it happens to Neal and Del in "Planes, Trains and Automobiles." Every traveler's nightmare in a comedy-come-true!
Payback
Mel Gibson "gives one of his strongest performances,"** teaming with director and co-screenwriter Brian Helgeland (co-writer of L.A. Confidential) and a superb supporting cast to ignite Payback's explosive mix of story, stars and style.

The dynamic superstar portrays Porter, a career criminal bent on revenge after his partners in a street heist pump metal into him and take off with his $70,000 cut. Bad move, thugs. Because if you plan to double-cross Porter, you'd better make sure he's dead. Porter resurfaces, wading into a lurid urban underworld of syndicate kingpins, cops on the take, sniveling informants and deadly gangs. Porter wants his money back. And the way he sets out to get it assures that, from beginning to heartpounding end, Payback pays off big.

**Philip Wuntch, Dallas Morning News
Paycheck
From director John Woo (M:I-2 and Face/Off) comes this futuristic thriller that combines spectacular action sequences with a spellbinding mystery that will keep you guessing from beginning to breathtaking end.

Michael Jennings (Ben Affleck) is a brilliant computer engineer hired for top-secret projects. After each job, Jennings' short-term memory is erased so he cannot recount any project information. Emerging from his latest assignment, a three-year contract with an eight-figure paycheck given to him by his longtime friend (Aaron Eckhart), Jennings is jolted when he is told that during the end of his assignment, he agreed to forfeit all payment.

Jennings has no recourse – until he receives a mysterious envelope containing clues to his forgotten past. With the help of a beautiful scientist (Uma Thurman) he once loved but now cannot remember, Jennings races to solve the puzzle of his past... while a terrifying discovery waits in his future.
Enemy at the Gates
An all-star cast lights up the screen in this riveting epic hailed as "a vivid dramatization of one of history's titanic turning points." (Gene Shalit, TODAY)

The year is 1942 and the Nazis are cutting a deadly swath through Russia. Under the leadership of Kruschev (Bob Hoskins), the citizens of Stalingrad are mounting a brave resistance, spurred by the exploits of their local hero, Vassili Zaitsev (Jude Law). An expert sniper, Vassili's deeds have become legendary—thanks to propaganda produced by Vassili's best friend, a political officer named Danilov (Joseph Fiennes). To stop Vassili, the Germans dispatch their best sniper, Major Konig (Ed Harris), to Stalingrad. When Vassili and Danilov both fall in love with a beautiful soldier (Rachel Weisz), Danilov deserts his friend, leaving Vassili to face his German counterpart alone. As the city burns, Vassili and Konig begin a cunning game of cat and mouse, waging a private war for courage, honor and country.
Four Brothers
Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, André Benjamin and Garrett Hedlund co-star in this gripping tale of brotherly love, betrayal and revenge from acclaimed filmmaker John Singleton.

After their adoptive mother is gunned down during a grocery store holdup, the estranged brothers reunite to seek revenge and take matters into their own hands. Defying police orders, the four begin turning their old Detroit neighborhood upside down searching for the mastermind behind the brutal killing. Along the way, they discover they are bound by ties thicker than blood in this emotionally powerful, action-packed drama.
Failure to Launch
Matthew McConaughey is Tripp, a 35-year-old who still lives with his parents. And who can blame him? It's free, he's got a great room, and mom (Kathy Bates) does the laundry. Desperate to get him out of the house, his parents hire a gorgeous woman, Paula (Sarah Jessica Parker), to give him a little...push. They just didn't expect Tripp would push back! Zooey Deschanel, Justin Bartha, Terry Bradshaw, and Alias'  Bradley Cooper co-star in this romantic battle of wills that proves there's no place like home.
Evolution
The maker of Ghostbusters and Road Trip gives you a hilarious look at life on Earth and joins forces with the biggest stars in the universe. David Duchovny (The X-Files), Orlando Jones (The Replacements), Seann William Scott (American Pie) and Academy Award®-nominee* Julianne Moore (Hannibal) make a discovery of alien lifeforms that could change the world. But, when the aliens try to take over the planet, our four stellar heroes rocket into action to save us. Batman Begins
Acclaimed director Christopher Nolan explores the origins of the legendary Dark Knight. After his parents' murders, disillusioned heir Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice. With the help of his trusted butler Alfred (Michael Caine), detective Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and his ally Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), Wayne returns to Gotham and unleashes his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses strength, intellect and high-tech weaponry to fight evil.

This is a double dip, but I found it on sale.  It looks really good on Blu.

"De Døde"? Sounds like the Danish version of "The Big Lebowski"  ;)

I watched several episodes of "Doll House" but just never got it.  I didn't think it was as well put together as other Josh Whedon stuff.  But Eliza Dushku is always fun to watch .. Loved her in "Wrong Turn" ..

Thank you

I saw the first two or so episodes when it aired, and didn't enjoy it. But I have often read that it got a lot better. And it was now available for £16. Both seasons on Blu-ray. So I thought I gave it another chance. Firefly was another series by Joss Whedon which I stopped watching when it originally aired, but found it a lot of fun when revisiting it later on DVD. So much so, that I double-dipped on Blu-ray for it.

I loved Eliza Dushku on Buffy. And I was disappointed that she decided to do Tru Calling instead of a Faith spin-off.

I watched Dollhouse from the start.  It was ...different.  But I thought it was really interesting, and it did get better.
I'm just glad Whedon got the chance to do a proper ending..unlike what happened with Firefly.  That still ticks me off.   :voodoo:
