Das Millionenspiel

This movie from 1970 is an adaption of a short story from Robert Sheckley
It's about a tv show, where a volunteer canditate has to survive the hunt of some contract killers.

A similar adaption later on (!) from Stephen King was The Running Man

That's possibly the best value bargain you're likely to see. Obviously the posh packaging and every version of the film possible didn't prove that popular!

You say it's a triple dip. Don't tell me you even kept the snapper version! Just use it as a novelty coaster or something. :tease:

Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater: Complete Season One

This is from VCI and contains 29 episodes.  It is an anthology series, like the old Death Valley Days, but is hosted by Dick Powell who also appeared in several episodes himself.  Also, I understand the earlier episodes were all adaptations of actual Zane Grey western stories.  And as with other anthologies of the 50s and 60s (this premiered in 1956), this series has tons of familiar names.  Among them: Ida Lupino, Robert Ryan, Cloris Leachman, Lew Ayres, James Whitmore, Lee J. Cobb, Walter Brennan, Beverly Garland, Lloyd Bridges and Carolyn Jones.

This was part of an all-western order I placed.  There are 5 more items yet to come...4 will be in the next package and one item isn't scheduled for release until next month.

Dave, I think you will like Ponyo. I found that story-wise it was perhaps a bit 'younger' than some of Ghibli's other films, visually though I would not hesitate to call it their best. The amazing detail in the underwater and storm scenes was mindblowing, especially since the studio maintains it's traditional animation methods .
