It looked good... I popped it in the other day... but there was to much going on in the house that day so couldn't watch it as I should. Will have to give it another go when I can actually sit down and enjoy it.

Got a package from our friend Kathy today ;D
Sorry it took me so long to post it, but eight profiles to create from nothing is long :(

I think I'll count it as an early birthday gift, even if it'll be only in 7 weeks or so

I think she wants to torture me with that Adam Sandler's films... the menu even start with a fart "joke" for crying out loud :hmmmm:

Thanks Kathy :friends:

"Stories of Lost Souls" is quite an interesting collection of shorts.

If my memory serves me well for an "Episode-Movie" the episodes are not connected enough (for not saying "not at all").

I got a surprise package from a friend in the mail yesterday. I got....

Schindler's List
| Year: 1993 | 195 Min.| IMDb | Trailer/Intro

Schindler's List, a Stephen Spielberg film, is a cinematic masterpiece that has become one of the most honored films of all time.

Winner* of seven Academy Awards®, including Best Picture and Best Director, it also won every major Best Picture award and an exceptional number of additional honors. Among them were seven British Academy Film Awards; the Best Picture Awards from the New York Film Critics Circle, the National Society of Film Critics, the National Board of Review, the Producers Guild, the Los Angeles Film Critics, the Chicago, Boston and Dallas Film Critics; a Christopher Award; and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Golden Globe Awards. Steven Spielberg was further honored with the Directors Guild of America Award.

The film presents the indelible true story of the enigmatic Oskar Schindler, a member of the Nazi party, womanizer, and war profiteer who saved the lives of more than 1,100 Jews during the Holocaust. It is the triumph of one man who made a difference, and the drama of those who survived one of the darkest chapters in human history because of what he did.

Directed by Steven Spielberg, the film, which also won Academy Awards® for Screenplay, Cinematography, Music, Editing, and Art Direction, stars an acclaimed cast headed by Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley, Ralph Fiennes, Caroline Goodall, Jonathan Sagalle, and Embeth Davidtz.

*1993, Best Picture, Best Director, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Original Score, Best Adapted Screenplay.

The Decameron
| Year: 1971 | 111 Min.| IMDb

Legendary Italian director Pier Paolo Pasolini delivers nine exuberant tales in this "earthy, genuinely ribald and spicy" (Variety) film. Based on Boccaccio's timeless classic - and the first in Pasolini's Trilogy of Life Series - The Decameron is an uproariously "irreverent romp (Variety) that's "positively jubilant in its naughtiness" (Films and Filming)!

Lusty nuns who perform sexual "miracles," a cheating wife with a head for business, a dying con artist attempting a heavenly smile, young lovers caught with their pants down, a servant who loses his head for love and a gullible farmer who tries to turn his wife into a mare. These are just some of the stories Pasolini vividly brings to life!

A Star is Born
| Year: 1954 | 175 Min.| IMDb

A Star is Born marked Judy Garland's return to movies after a four-year absence, director George Cukor's first musical and first color film, and a showcase for great Harold Arlen/Ira Gershwin songs in state-of-the-art stereo. Garland is singer Esther Bladgett, an undeniable talent on the rise. She catches the eye of Norman Maine (James Mason), an alcoholic actor in career decline. Their intense love transforms them both. Only one will survive Hollywood's slings and arrows.

Shortened after its premiere, the movie underwent one rebirth in 1983 when film historian Ronald Haver found almost all the cut sequences and supervised a reconstruction to near its original length. Its new rebirth is this digital transfer from a refurbished element, with revitalized digital audio and incorporating picture and musical material recently uncovered. Star always had a shine to it. Now watch it sparkle as never before.

Spirited Killer
| Year: 1994 | 85 Min.

A group of travelers visiting the exotic forests of Thailand is suddenly attacked by a multi-weapon wielding maniac. Some manage to escape, others perish under his merciless blows.

The maniac is the Spirited Killer, a forest dweller who kills anyone who steps into his jungle. Leading the pack to help stop this madman is Tony Jaa (Ong Bak), making his film debut.

The Killer is played by none other than his mentor, Panna Rittikrai, who was a major action star in Thailand. Together with Jaa and his other stuntmen proteges, Rittikrai gives Jackie Chan and Jet Li a run for their money with blinding action and superb stunts.

This is the start of a group that would later give the world the action epics Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong!
