What did you think of the Wizard of Oz set you bought? I got mine a week or so ago. I was pleasantly surprised with the contents. I'm looking forward to the Gone with the Wind set coming out soon, especially since I've never seen the movie!
Haven't removed the shrink wrap yet :bag:
I have opened it now and am generally quite impressed by the nice book(let)s inside. Also the watch looks quite pretty with its green wristband. I am wondering a little bit if I am really fan enough to shell out the extra dough for the added features, but I do like them.

My only gripes are: a) why do they always have those separate sheets as back covers which can't be put into the box without cutting b) why, oh why, are the mini posters just a few millimeters to wide to actually fit into the box as well ::)

I got that set too..though mine is just DVD.
The book and other stuff in it are cool.  The watch is very nice.  I'm annoyed that the back sheet thing and the posters don't fit in the box..I want to keep them all nice, but they are too big.

Starship Troopers Trilogy (£8.93 at TheHut.com)
I have never seen any of these. I thought that I cannot go that wrong with this price for a Blu-ray set.

Excellent price

I was really tempted by it because the first film at least is superb. Very misunderstood. But I know I won't like the sequels, so it's still a waste of money. I'll just keep an eye out for number 1 on its own, especially as I already have the DVD. Pretty good image too.

I loved the first one, I saw it 2 or 3 times at the pictures.

I really liked the second one. It's not a direct sequel, to use Star Trek as a reference here, Starship Troopers is like The Next Generation and Hero of the Federation is like Deep Space Nine. It's in the same universe and all of the same rules apply. Plus it's got the added bonus of Kelly Carlson wandering around in not much in a couple of scenes  :drooling:

The third one is a bit meh, but is still watchable. This is more of a direct sequel, as this has got Casper reprising his role.

I also got another shelf..this one is just for tv show sets.  It isn't that great of a shelf, but it works for now.  I still have room for more too.
I even managed to put it together all by myself last night...once I found a stupid screwdriver.

   Saving Grace (Season 1, 2007)
R1-US Fox (2008)

I usually don't like cop shows, but this one made me curious and I finally got it cheap. Sure it can't be worse than Dollhouse?
   Trouble Every Day (FR 2001)
R2-UK Prism (2005)

The House Next Door just posted a very interesting conversation about this (with spoilers!) and horror movies in general. I've seen it on TV a few years ago and was pretty impressed. The French DVD would have been a better choice, but as usual isn't English-friendly.

I went to Big Lots today and bought a bunch of new $3 DVDs:

Slither - I can't wait to see if I like this one or not based on the differences of opinion.
Incubus - Blind buy
Whisper - Blind buy
No Where in Africa - I've heard a lot of good things about this one.
In the Company of Men - Blind Buy
Jungle Fever - Blind Buy
Creature Comforts - Season 1 and 2
The Munsters Two-Movie Fright Fest: Munster Go Home! / The Munsters' Revenge. I just love the Munsters so I had to get it! I have no idea if either movie is good.
Broken Flowers - I thought I remember saying this one was good.

And a couple for my niece and nephews:
Hot Wheels AcceleRacers: Breaking Point
Hot Wheels AcceleRacers: The Speed of Silence
Real Wheels: Tractor Adventures - this series is a hit with the kids. Sometimes they will talk during other movies but not these. Its wonderful when I need a break!
