I watched Fawlty Towers only recently, but as it's superb and only two [British] seasons, it wouldn't be a long marathon I'd be happy to join in. Pull your finger out, Marie!

I think I saw Best of the Best years ago.  If that is what I'm thinking of, I liked it at the time.

Jarhead I haven't seen, but it's directed by Sam Mendes and is fairly well regarded so I doubt you went wrong there.

A friend of mine who actually served in Iraq said that in one regard the film is fairly acurate. The sitting around waiting for something to happen.

	Die Unerzogenen (DE 2007, AKA The Unpolished) R2-DE Filmgalerie 451 (Aug 21, 2009) I've heard great things about this. The story seems somewhat similar to Christian Petzold's Die innere Sicherheit (AKA The State I Am In), although the parents are just hippies, not terrorists.
	Battlestar Galactica (2009, Season 4.5) R1-US Universal (Jul 28, 2009) Not as brilliant as Firefly, but this series slowly grew on me and I even changed my mind about the earlier seasons.
	Mad Men (2008, Season 2) R1-US Lionsgate (Jul 14, 2009) Season 1 was probably the best show not running on HBO or Showtime and I'm looking forward to S2 with great expectations.
	Pushing Daisies (2008, Season 2) R1-US Warner (Jul 21, 2009) While I liked the first season, I'm somewhat sceptical about S2. But, hey, it was cheap and it is the last season anyway.

I don't know how it's a good animation movie for adults but I know a co-worker went to see it in theater with her 7 year old son and the kid didn't like it.  He found it scary, she felt it was too frightening and violent for kids that age.  Sounds like an animation I would like

Tch. That annoys me. Kids stories like this should be violent and scary. Just think of the old fairy tales; kids getting chopped up and eaten in various ways! Brilliant stuff. Roald Dahl continued the tradition, not least with The Chocolate Factory where some of the kids come to some dreadful accidents.

I haven't seen this, but read the book by Neil Gaiman last year and it is fantastic. I know it's for kids, but it only took half-an-hour to read and was very enjoyable.

I don't disagree with you that those stories should be scary and violent Jon but unlike the old fairy tales, which were in books and told by people, movies are very graphical in nature and they leave little place for viewers to make their own imagery within the limit of what they're comfortable with.

For my friend, I don't think her problem was with the movie being scary and violent but more about the level of such which she found too much for a 6-7 year old audience which she told me was within the age range the movie was targeting and advertised for.

Then it's also possible that her son is easily scared for his age.

	Coraline (2009) R1-US Universal (Jul 21, 2009) I know Pixar is everyone's favorite, but I really prefer the more traditional craftsmanship of movies like this one.
	Naked (UK 1993) R1-US Criterion (2005) Despite the title, this isn't a possible entry for Jimmy's Adult section. IMHO still Mike Leigh's best film, although I haven't seen Happy-Go-Lucky yet.
