The Triangle
From the director of 'X-Men' and a producer of 'Independence Day', comes a sci-fi event so big, it's a phenomenon. Experience the thrills and heart-pounding suspense of the greatest legend of our time as a team of specialists races to solve the mystery of why an alarming number of cargo ships are disappearing into the Bermuda Triangle. But as every clue only deepens the mystery, the truth they uncover is far more bizarre than the myths used to cover it up.

My Thoughts:
This was a decent miniseries... enjoyable even... but I still felt unsatisfied when it was over. I think I was just expecting more from it. Not because this one was recommended highly to me... or because I read rave reviews... I just for some reason thought it would be better going in. I think... at least in my opinion... they went with an easy out at the end... but then added a bit of a twist to that easy out. Which was ok... but I just felt like there should have been more to it. Don't get me wrong... I am in no way sorry I got it... was still enjoyable.

Meant to post this last night...

The Brady Bunch: The Complete Series (Season 1 Discs 2-4)
'Here's the story... The COMPLETE story' of America's most beloved TV sitcom family, 'The Brady Bunch!' This groovy and far-out collector's edition features al 117 hilarious episodes on 20 discs plus a special bonus disc featuring new-to-DVD Brady gems: 'The Brady 500', 'A Very Brady Christmas', and two episodes from 'The Brady Kids' animated TV series!

You'll want to re-live the laughs again and again!

It's the way they became 'The Brady Bunch!'

My Thoughts:
I seem to be watching this a bit quicker then I originally thought I would... but I have been having a bit of fun watching these episode with my daughter. Seems like every day she wants to watch some more. This completes the first season of the set. And the only season with any extras what so ever (within the seasons).I think personally my favorite episode in the first season has to be the one where the kids "haunt" the house when Mike and Carol decide to sell it to get a bigger house. I thought that one was just a lot of fun.

Bionic Woman: Vol. 1 (Disc 2)
Join one of TV's most stunning breakout heroines as the action-packed series 'Bionic Woman' leaps into DVD! From executive producer David Eick ('Battlestar Galactica') comes this gripping re-imagining of the universally beloved character.

Jamie Sommers is a hard-working woman struggling to take care of her younger sister. But after a serious, life-threatening accident, Jamie is saved by a top-secret procedure that makes her much more than just an ordinary woman...it makes her superhumanly bionic. Starring hot newcomer 'Michelle Ryan', as well as 'Miguel Ferrer' ('Crossing Jordan'), 'Molly Price' ('Third Watch'), 'Will Yun Lee' ('Witchblade'), 'Lucy Kate Hale' ('How I Met Your Mother'), and guest stars 'Isaiah Washington' ('Grey's Anatomy') and 'Katee Sackhoff' ('Battlestar Galactica'), it's a non-stop thrill ride unlike anything you've seen before!

My Thoughts:
finished off this series to get it off my unwatched shelf. In my opinion... this series was just really starting to get good when it was canceled. It felt like Jamie was getting close to telling her sister her secret.... the characters were starting to really get into their own by now. I am right disappointed there will not be any more episodes... but I know I am in the minority on this one. So at least I do have all 8 of the episodes to watch whenever I want to. :)

Invasion: The Complete Series (Disc 2)
Hurricane Eve slams into Homestead, Florida. Its tragic aftermath is what you'd expect: destroyed homes, downed power lines, uprooted lives. And what you wouldn't expect: townspeople eerily and profoundly transformed into... something different. Frighteningly different. And possibly extraterrestrial.

Follow every twist, turn and shocking revelation of this suspenseful series from the mind of Shaun Cassidy as two blended Homestead families, the Varons and the Underlays, uncover the truth about themselves and their town. Their families are just like ours -- loving parents, kids who need guidance, and of course, one black sheep. In this case it's Dave, an amiable out-of-work blogger who sees a conspiracy behind every event and alien behind every conspiracy. 'Only this time he may be right!'

My Thoughts:
just finished the second disc of the set. So far I am still enjoying it very much. Though I will admit it is going in a couple directions that I wasn't expecting... and at this point at least wish they didn't go... but who knows... could be a good thing once I get further into the show. Only time will tell. At this point I will still say I am sorry to see it was canceled after only the first season.

Join 'BIOGRAPHY' for an unforgettable look at the irrepressible 'Katharine Hepburn.'

My Thoughts:
I figured I would check out this disc after a good friend sending it to me. It is an interesting documentary on her life. I am trying to get into more classics... and this one had mentioned a couple I would like to check out. Now I would especially like to check out "The African Queen" and "Guess Who is Coming to Dinner"... as for the later years... I would like to check out "On Golden Pond"... as I must have missed it when it came out. Of course back in the 80's I was still pretty young... and wasn't much into dramas at that time.

Pete you must check out The African Queen; it's only available on R2 (I think) but it is a wonderful movie. It's frequently on Turner Classic Movies if you can't find the DVD. I love the way Katharine says "Charlie" (Bogart's character) so much I named one of my cats "Charlie" simply for that reason.

See, now I like Katherine Hepburn, and Humphrey Bogart, but I can't get into The African Queen. Just really disliked it. For Hepburn movies, I would recommend The Philadelphia Story. Bringing Up Baby is good too, but it's possibly the earliest example of a romantic comedy and the dialogue comes at about 110mph! If you like John Wayne and/or Westerns, Two Mules for Sister Sara is great fun and a bit unusual for her.

My Thoughts:
Continuing on the Brady Bunch... I started out watching this series more with my daughter when she wants too then for myself. But now I am finding myself enjoying the show a bit more then what I did with the first season episodes. So seems like I will enjoy this set more then I was expecting to. At the same time I find myself trying to get through these episodes quickly so I can watch the reunion movies. There was some decent episodes on these 2 discs... but think my favorite episode from this viewing would have to be "The Slumber Caper"... where Marcia has a Slumber Party... and the boys do everything they can to pull pranks on the girls and scare them. Was a fun episode to watch... as I would have done the same thing as the boys if I was in that situation.

The Adventures of Robin Hood: Season 1 (Episodes 1-4)
This classic television series ran from 1955 to 1960, featuring the tales of Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men. Richard Greene stars as our gallant hero who fought the forces of the evil Prince John, his local official the Sheriff of Nottingham and any aristocrat or ne'er-do-well who threatened the common people and loyal subjects of King Richard. Robin and his band lived in the shelter of Sherwood Forest, fighting their foes and hoping for the day when their beloved King Richard will return from the Crusades to rule once again.

My Thoughts:
I blind bought the first season this classic TV Series when I found the set in the Walmart Bargain Bin earlier this month. So I didn't know what to expect. It turns out that I found another series that I thoroughly enjoy. This series has a great combination of action. adventure and comedy. In just the first 4 episodes I found myself on several occasions literally laughing out loud. Unfortunately both the audio and video quality leaves a lot to be desired. Of course I don't know what the prints looked like beforehand... but it doesn't seem like they even attempted to remaster the set at all. Nonetheless I am enjoying every moment of this series... so I really hope we see the release of the remaining seasons (4 seasons in all)... even if it is in the same quality as this set. Especially if it is in the same price range.

My Thoughts:
This disc has the next 3 episodes. For me the series started to go downhill on disc 2 just a bit... but then it seemed to gain stride back on this disc... and I am back to being enthralled by this series. I am trying to make this show last as long as possible... maybe watching 1 disc per week... but it don't seem to work that way for me... I seem to have to keep coming back to it every couple days. In an episode on this disc we finally got a decent view of what was actually in the water. I thought they did a good job on creating the creature... though I would have liked to seem them get a bit more creative then they did.

Well... we just finished off the second season.  Was all decent episodes... but this time around I think I enjoyed the one where Bobby was trying to win a trophy the most. Was just a fun episode... the ice cream eating contest look like something I would like to try!  :P Now that we finished 2 seasons.... we only have 3 seasons and 2 movies left to go. :)
