Madam, you disappoint me! Have you not read Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns? A key plot features Superman and it is amazing! He found a way that the two compliment each other in all sorts of ways and the very final moments are wonderful.
My main concern with a new Superman movie is that I read not long after Dark Knight came out that Warner Brothers wanted to reboot Superman and make it darker. They point to the success of Batman Begins and Dark Knight and how dark they are. Superman has never been as dark as Batman and I don't think that is the right way to go with a movie..at least not one that is dark overall. Maybe a few darker elements or something.
I just found a new story about this. Nolan confirms he is involved with a new Superman movie.http://paralleluniverse.msn.com/features/movies/christopher-nolan-superman/story/?GT1=28140
I've not seen either of those films so I have no idea what his style is like.
