Actually, Brittany, don't you think they could at least improve the origin, if they do have to reboot? In the comics it was strictly a one-off, truly freak accident. In the film, Peter was bitten by one of several genetically engineered spiders, any of which could easily escape. Surely that means the process is easy to repeat and you could easily find 12 more spider-men and women roaming the city, simply because the scientists contrived to make a super spider. The point of the comic was that Peter was playing around at home with a random, non-spider related experiment that the insect wandered into.
But a music video director isn't much better and Michael Bay doesn't really direct that much anymore, he's mostly a producer now. Anyway he had at least directed one good thing in his career wich is one more than Marc Webb...

I quite liked The Rock (pre flashy-editing) and Transformers is good fun to me (although quite an empty experience). Of course, it's all a matter of point of view...
