I like Holiday a lot.  Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn are very good together...you should also check them out together in Bringing Up Baby.  Of course, with romantic comedies, I always think of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan though they only did 3 films together...and I still haven't gotten around to watching one of those.

I've warned him off Bringing Up Baby before, Roger. Pete wasn't keen on the high-speed style of My Girl Friday, so I said he should ignore Baby and got to Philadelphia, so to speak.  ;)

I saw Knocked Up on HBO...haven't wanted to see it again.  I didn't hate it, but I don't like it that much either.

How about Peter Jackson's Dead Alive? I always thought it's a romantic love story told with comedic elements. Of course, there's some blood and guts as well, but you have to look at the main plot!

Next to horror, romantic comedies are probably my least watched genre. I only own two and they are 'Knocked Up' and 'Baby Mama' which I just got recently.
Then you don't want to go anywhere near the above recommendation...

Well... not this coming weekend, but the following is Valentine's day. And I do still plan on doing a Romantic Comedy weekend. I am going to also order at least 1 new romantic comedy when I get paid tomorrow. That being The Proposal as I just adore Sandra Bullock. But I may get a couple more cheap ones (under $10) Here is some that I can consider ordering... is there anyone here that can recommend any of the below?...

Got these by searching Romantic Comedy at Amazon....

- Romantic Comedy 4 Film Favorites (Summer Catch / Rock Star / Home Fries / Addicted to Love)  ~ Meg Ryan, Mark Wahlberg, Drew Barrymore, and Freddie Prinze Jr. ($12.99 for 4 Movies)
- Definitely, Maybe (Widescreen)  ~ Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Kline, Rachel Weisz, and Elizabeth Banks
- It Could Happen to You  ~ Nicolas Cage, Bridget Fonda, Rosie Perez, and Wendell Pierce
- The Wedding Date (Widescreen Edition) ~ Dermot Mulroney, Debra Messing, Jack Davenport, and Amy Adams
- One Fine Day ~ Michelle Pfeiffer, George Clooney, Mae Whitman, and Alex D. Linz
- Head over Heels ~ Monica Potter, Freddie Prinze Jr., Shalom Harlow, and Ivana Milicevic
- 27 Dresses (Widescreen Edition)  ~ Katherine Heigl, James Marsden, Malin Akerman, and Brian Kerwin (I definitely like Katherine Heigl too!)
- What Happens in Vegas (Widescreen Edition) ~ Cameron Diaz, Ashton Kutcher, Rob Corddry, and Lake Bell
- Something to Talk About  ~ Julia Roberts, Dennis Quaid, Robert Duvall, and Gena Rowlands
- Along Came Polly (Widescreen Edition) ~ Ben Stiller, Jennifer Aniston, Debra Messing, and Philip Seymour Hoffman
- Imagine Me & You  ~ Piper Perabo, Lena Headey, Matthew Goode, and Celia Imrie
- Rumor Has It... (Widescreen Edition)  ~ Jennifer Aniston, Mark Ruffalo, Shirley MacLaine, and Kevin Costner
- Hope Floats ~ Sandra Bullock, Harry Connick Jr., Gena Rowlands, and Mae Whitman

Along came Poly is a strange one, its not what I expected and I didn't really like it to begin with but it grew on me and I have recommended it in the past

I thought The Proposal was harmless fun, in a good way.

As for the others, I wouldn't get any of those :bag:

It Could Happen to You - One of the rare instances where Cage isn't bad.

None of the above. One of my favorite romantic comedies is Prisoner of Second Avenue.

Home Fries (I bought this when I was in my Drew Barrymore "craze". I enjoyed it, but it is not something really special. I recommend it if you are a fan of Drew. Though four movies for this price is probably a good deal)
It Could Happen to You (I like it)
27 Dresses (bought this because of Katherine Heigl, but it is definately not a must see)
Along Came Polly (I liked it the first time. Though I still enjoyed it the second time, I didn't like it as much as the first time)
Imagine Me & You (as you know I love this movie. If you don't have anything against romantic comedies about lesbians, then this is definately worth to check it out. And it has Lena Headey in it. And the ever beautiful Piper Perabo)
Forces of Nature (I saw this one only once when I first bought it many years ago and still haven't dared to watch it again. Maybe it is not as boring as I remember it)

Pete, you know how you trusted me on Val Lewton? Why not think a little older and look up some classics and see what romantic comedy is really about?  :P

I've recommended The Philadelphia Story before, but also, pretty much anything by director Preston Sturges. Antares has recently reviewed Christmas in July, which is just wonderful. Possibly the most famous though is Sullivan's Travels. Any of these are gems.

One I've caught on TV a few times and keep meaning to pick up is Barefoot In The Park with Robert Redford and Bridget Fonda. You could also consider The Apartment (both me and Rich have reviewed that one favourably on here).

I will have to make a run over to Walmart in the next couple days... maybe I will hold off on other Romantic Comedies and see what is in the bargain bin/cheap dvds over there.

Definitely in agreement with those 5, also would recommend The Lady Eve from Sturges.
