Thanks for finding Repo Men. I saw the trailer a while ago and tried to find a linkable version. Looks excellent! Or shit. Can't really tell yet! ;)

I would like to see both of those now, please.  :drooling:

Travolta actually looks like he's enjoying himself and having fun instead of phoning in his performance, so that's got to be worth seeing! The story will run out of steam well before the end I bet though. It's just that sort of thing.

And Solomon Kane looks much better than I expected. They'll get the jump on Conan and set a bar I think that new film is already struggling to meet, what with all the silliness over casting.

A few days ago, I looked up the upcoming version of True Grit.  It appears that Jeff Bridges has been cast as Rooster Cogburn...he had previously been in at least one other western, Wild Bill.  Matt Damon is La Boeuf, the part played by Glen Campbell in the original (doubtless the weakest casting of that movie).  Mattie Ross hasn't been cast yet.  The film is scheduled for a December 25 release.

I've thought that the trailers for From Paris With Love looked interesting.

A remake of True Grit.  Hmmm.  Well my mom and step dad will probably see it, but she'll get really irked if too much is changed.  I may see it.

Urgh. I'm quoting myself...  :bag: Still, it's easier than retyping!  ;)

I wonder if anyone's going to do a western this year?  From time to time I hear Kevin Costner may do another but I haven't heard anything official.  Also, there was a rumor the Coens were going to do a new version of True Grit which I hope doesn't happen.  The original was great.  If they want to do a western, let them find another story.

The Coen version of True Grit is definitely still on and I'm really looking forward to it since I heard it wasn't a remake. True Grit was based on a book and a lot was changed. They've gone back to the source. Much as I love the John Wayne version, this could be a better all round film, especially post Unforgiven.

This is probably my my most anticipated film for 2010 (unless the Sin City sequel sees the light of day this year).

I don't see how this film could be anymore awesome, without including Mark Dacascos, Danny Trejo and Chuck Norris.

I'm looking forward to it as well! I bet you'll like The Losers, based on a comic by Andy Diggle and Jock. I think they've got the jump on A-Team, to be honest...

You're my hero. For today at any rate.

I had totally forgotten about this.

Everyone should do themselves a favour and read the comic. It's a fantastic noir cum crime story.

I'll take what I can get!  ;)

I seem to remember reading some of The Losers ages ago. Been meaning to pick up a collected edition or something. Same with The Boys, although a guy at work says he has a few he can lend me which'll do nicely.

IIRC you liked Preacher, so you kind of know what Garth Ennis' writing is like. So you're going to love The Boys.

I did like Preacher, plus Garth Ennis has been a regular Dredd writer over the years and while those stories are obviously less exploitive, they still have an edge. He was responsible for the Judgement Day epic for instance. And actually, when you reign in someone like Ennis, you get pure quality. Much the same reason why I was so hoping Tarantino would get the chance to make a Bond film.
