Let me tell you a story.

Many years ago the first season of Highlander was released and I bought it of course. And then there was nothing. No second season for years. One day I saw a deal at deepdiscount.com and bought all 6 seasons as a package. In Germany still nothing. Then less than 2 years ago a new distributor started to release the other seasons for relative bargain prices.

So all in all one could conclude that there isn't really a market for this show in Germany - for whatever reasons.

This morning I get an e-mail: Highlander Season 1 now on Blu-ray! Buy!! NOW!!!


I am seriously asking myself what kind of target audience the distributor has in mind.

Perhaps they understand that Germany has exacting standards and would refuse to buy Highlander until it was in High-Def-Lander! Even though hi-def wasn't available at all... :shrug:
