Thanks to a friend... I have some TV Shows coming in the mail...

Bewitched: The Complete Fourth Season
Elizabeth Montgomery, Dick York and Agnes Moorehead return for more spellbinding comedy and magic in BEWITCHED: THE COMPLETE FOURTH SEASON. Join a harried Darrin while he watches helplessly as Samantha, Endora and their extended family of witches and warlocks conjure up love potions, space visitors, Leonardo da Vinci and even Prince Charming himself. Paul Lynde and Emmy Award Winner Marion Lorne are back as well in this extraordinary four-disc DVD collection, featuring 33 episodes of side-splitting laughter, enchantment, and fun!
Kidnapped: The Complete Series
When the teenaged son of the wealthy Cain family is abducted, it looks like a simple kidnapping for profit. But appearances can deceive, as an obsessed private investigator and a troubled FBI agent soon learn while they dig ever deeper into a vast conspiracy. Death strikes at every turn as cold-blooded assassins take out anyone who threatens to expose the crime's hidden motive.

Fusing the rich complexity of a great suspense novel with the explosive action of a blockbuster movie, "Kidnapped: The Complete Series" includes all 13 gripping episodes. Every moment is fraught with tension thanks to a star-studded cast including Academy Award® winner Timothy Hutton (1980, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Ordinary People), Jeremy Sisto (TV's "Six Feet Under"), Delroy Lindo (Get Shorty) and Dana Delany (TV's "China Beach").
Numb3rs: The Complete Second Season
Body counts, multiple criminal masterminds, and perpetrators who are likely to act again ... this is the world of NUMB3RS. FBI agent Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) couldn't be more different from his younger brother, Charlie (David Krumholtz), a brilliant math professor at a California university. Don deals in hard facts and evidence, whereas Charlie thrives in a world of mathematical probability and equations. But despite their disparate lives and career paths, Don and Charlie often combine their areas of expertise to solve a wide range of challenging crimes in Los Angeles. Inspired by actual cases, this dynamic DVD collection brings all 24 "Season Two' episodes into your home, depicting how the union of police work and mathematics provides unexpected solutions and answers to the most perplexing criminal questions. It all adds up: NUMB3RS is one of television's most fascinating, must-see crime dramas!
The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo!: The Complete Series
Super sleuths Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo are on the case for ghosts – real ghosts this time, 13 of the world’s meanest ghosts to be exact.  Once banned to an enchanted Chest of Demons for eternity, all 13 spirits are now loose to wreak havoc on the world and only Scooby-Doo can recapture them because – ruh-roh! – he’s the one who unwittingly opened the chest and let them out!  Joined by the pint-sized, fast-talking magician/con artist Flim-Flam and guided by the world’s greatest mystic Vincent van Ghoul (voiced and inspired by the incomparable Vincent Price), the gang causes mayhem hunting ghosts around the world while cracking fans up in the comfort of their home.  Scare up this spooktacular 2-Disc Complete Series Collection for a haunting good time!

Today I was chatting with a friend of mine about the TV Series Masters of Horror When we got talking about the episode Sick Girl I mentioned how cute I thought the one actress in it is... Erin Brown... a cute little red-head (I have always had a thing for red-heads!)... that is when he said "That's Misty Mundae!" and that he loved her to death! That is when he told me he had some of her stuff he was willing to give me! He is sending me...

Sorry Jon softcore pornography doesn't exist  :redcard:
softcore movies are fake and are real movie,
adult movies aren't fake and are real movies,
pornography aren't fake, is cheap and need no talent whatsoever.

erm... no I didn't. Please tell me you don't take that type of film seriously?

Point 1: Ok, Misty Mundae is in it. Big deal. All our favourite actors and actresses do crappy movies sometimes. And she is in the porn industry, so sorry, but she is not exactly a method actress. That she does proper adult films does not suddenly put her on a pedestal and predispose her against doing porn.

Point 2: Jimmy, I respect your interest in adult film, so when I say the term 'porn', rightly or wrongly, I intend it to describe films that are made just to feature sex and be aimed at one certain type of audience. I thought you made that difference too. Story? Narrative? No, just an excuse to get tits out. What I consider hard-core porn would be the extreme stuff with titles like "Cum Sluts 7" or something. When I say softcore, I'm referring to the rather silly films that just take the piss out of proper films. I had assumed though that your serious interest did not extend to crap like "Play-mate of the Apes". Really? That's no different to "Shaving Ryan's Privates"!

The reason I responded to Pete's post the way I did is that I would never consider such a DVD as part of a collection. It's just junk. Look at the cover, for goodness sake. You are not seriously trying to invest any sense of quality in that thing. This thread started because Pete's friends made the effort to give him titles that were worth owning. This stuff just changes hands as soon as the last owner has, ahem, finished with it. Perfect example is the scene in 40 Year Old Virgin where his friend dumps "a huge box of porn" on him.

Like it or not, my definition of porn is the generally accepted one. As I say, I understand the difference with much of what you review which is what I would refer to as Adult Film.

Here's the trailer for Play-Mate. I rest my case. In fact, sorry, mate, I didn't realise until I saw this that quite clearly Misty Mundae is a porn actress. Maybe she's done some serious adult work, but this is pure and simple porn.  :-\

Jon if for you pornography is the same that a movie with nudity let me tell you that I lost a lot of respect for you. Sorry but it's something that I can understand from someone who don't know better from you not at all...

I leave it at that as I don't want to wrote anything I would regret later...

say what you like, we've known each other a long time and I think we should be able to get to the bottom of this.

No, I do not consider any film with nudity to be pornography, or for that matter any film with explicit sex scenes. I have learned that difference from you. Last night I saw two or three trailers with Misty and while it is clear she is a fundamentally poor actress when compared with the Ingrid Bergmans and Grace Kellys of this world, it is also clear that sometimes, she has featured in several productions that put a lot of effort into character and story.

I don't want to see such films because I can't see past the basically awful quality and amateurish framing, but that's me, i'm a whore for a Hollywood production.

But that's what you're there for. I know you will defend and support such films without me having to watch them, and I respect you for it because its all part of the cycle in the industry as a whole. Just tell me this and put my mind at rest...

Do you consider "Play-mate of the Apes" and "Lord of the G-Strings" to be valuable films that have something to contribute?

Why it's a lost cause anyway, I'm use to it...

No, I do not consider any film with nudity to be pornography, or for that matter any film with explicit sex scenes.
Funny because this is exactly what you have done here
...which basically looks like ten-a-penny soft-core porn.  ???
There are no such thing as softcore porn. I tought it was something I did explain quite clearly here time and time again... Guess I didn't.
Last night I saw two or three trailers with Misty and while it is clear she is a fundamentally poor actress when compared with the Ingrid Bergmans and Grace Kellys of this world

I hope you realize how this sentence is over the top... So from now on can we say that Steven spielberg is a bad director because he isn't Orson Wells or that Robert DeNiro is a bad actor because he isn't Laurence Olivier? Seriously Jon...
I don't want to see such films because I can't see past the basically awful quality and amateurish framing, but that's me, i'm a whore for a Hollywood production.
Isn' it funny that it's acceptable to accuse me of all the bad things that happen on earth when I say something like that, but it is perfectly fine when others say the same?
But that's what you're there for.
I'm sure you have realized that I don't really write reviews here anymore (except for special occasion) and in the rare time I do it's a "mainstream" movie. The fact I was accused by two trolls of watching only pornographic movies, something I don't, played a large part in this decision. So no I'm not here for that anymore...
Do you consider "Play-mate of the Apes" and "Lord of the G-Strings" to be valuable films that have something to contribute?
and the point being? Are Spiderman a film that have something to contribute? Are Texas Chainsaw Massacre a film that have something to contribute? Are Necromantik a film that have something to contribute? Are Lord of the Rings a film that have something to contribute? Who cares! If even one person is entertain by them they have contribute something.

As coincidence would have it, Jim Emerson, expanding on a piece by Richard Brody:
On nudity and sex and Shame
Haven't gotten around to read it yet, but maybe it can divert some animosity. ;)

Wow... I am sorry I even mentioned this gift. Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut this time? To me this is nothing more then a friend giving me a gift of a few movies in a genre I am really not familiar with to check it out. So whether I enjoy them or not I will always appreciate them.

But maybe I am being too simple-minded here and should be more critical?

Oh well... either way I am sorry I mentioned them.
