His wife (Farrah Fawcett) has regressed into a child-like state, while one daughter (Tara Reid) is raising suspicions about the relationship between his soon-to-be-married other daughter (Kate Hudson) and her maid of honor (Liv Tyler). Meanwhile, just as his champagne-loving sister-in-law (Laura Dern) arrives with three nieces in tow, the doctor falls for the sexy new golf pro (Helen Hunt). As complications mount, the good doctor’s life rapidly approaches the force of a Texas tornado!

To make things worse, the men who put Gordo there want him back and the hot young thing is out to kill a gangster kingpin. What was suppose to be the beginning of a new life for Harry has now become a high-speed struggle for survival, as he's pursued by crazed drug dealers, vicious Mafia hit men and maniacal family members.

Locate and disable a hair-triggered nerve-toxin bomb that could wipe out the U.S. Eastern Seaboard. Execute a split-second attack that overwhelms the terrorists and safeguards the passengers. Do it all without air-to-ground radio. And do it before an increasingly jittery U.S. military blasts the airliner out of the sky. "I hope there's a good movie on this flight," an anti-terrorist operative quips. As it turns out, there's a great one: Executive Decision!
Murder at 1600
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Not your address, but if you're an American, it 'is' your house. It's the White House, home of the President and site of state dinners and world-shaping decisions. But what if it's also the site of a hushed-up murder in a room just steps from the Oval Office?

Who did it — and why?  That's what homicide cop Harlan Regis (Wesley Snipes) wants to know.  And what you'll discover as Murder at 1600 sweeps you into an exciting mystery thrill-packed with suspects, cover-ups, covert agents, daring action sequences and an overseas crisis that could blow at any instant.  Dwight Little (Marked For Death, Rapid Fire) directs Snipes and a top-notch cast featuring Diane Lane, Alan Alda, Daniel Benzali and Dennis Miller.  It's up to Regis to sort through the clues and make sure the killer doesn't get away.  It's up to you to make sure this gut-grabbing thriller doesn't get away.

Hoffman is Max, a local TV reporter taken hostage with schoolchildren when Sam locks down the museum. It's a desperate move for Sam, a career move for Max. He's on the inside of a live exclusive. Now he must give Sam's story a heroic spin, keep a cynical network anchor (Alan Alda) at bay and above all, keep America watching. Freejack
Bounty hunters from the future raid the present to provide new bodies for the super rich in the all-out, pedal-to-the-metal sci-fi thriller Freejack, directed by Geoff Murphy (Young Guns) and sparked by the imagination of Alien and Total Recall veteran Ronald Shusett.

Emilio Estevez, Mick Jagger, Anthony Hopkins and Rene Russo star, keeping pace with the scenic, supersonic excitement. Prior to a crash, race car driver Alex Furlong (Estevez) is  snatched from his cockpit and hurled into the futureworld of 2009. He's dead. And running for his life. He's a "freejack," a stranger in the strangest of lands. And a relentless "bonejacker"  (Jagger) can collect millions bringing him in.
Caddyshack
Greenskeeper Carl Spackler is about to start World War III – against a gopher. Pompous Judge Smails plays to win but his nubile niece Lacey Underall wants to score her own way. Playboy Ty Webb shoots perfect golf by becoming the ball. And country club loudmouth Al Czervik just doubled a $20,000 bet on a 10-foot putt. Insanity? No. Caddyshack.

Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray and Ted Knight tee off for a side-splitting round of fairway foolishness that does for golf what National Lampoon's Animal House did for fraternities and Police Academy did for law enforcement. With hitmaker Harold Ramis (National Lampoon's Vacation, Analyze This) in the director's chair, the virtuoso comic skills of all four blend into a riotous hole-in-one for comedy fans. In Caddyshack, the term "golf nut" takes on a deranged double meaning – and nonstop laughter is par for the course!
Training Day
Rookie cop Jake Hoyt wants to stop crooks, not become one. But staying on the right side of the line that separates cop from criminal will be more challenging than anything he's faced. Because Hoyt's senior partner for the next 24 hours is Alonzo Harris, an undercover narc meaner than any of L.A.'s mean streets.

In a powerful departure from his frequent good-guy roles, Denzel Washington plays Harris, the twisted but charismatic detective who both attracts and repels as he becomes the kind of thug he's supposed to collar. Ethan Hawke plays unseasoned recruit Hoyt. And Antoine Fuqua (The Replacement Killers, Bait) directs, guiding a cast that includes music stars Dr. Dre, Macy Gray and Snoop Dogg. Training Day. It's a day of reckoning.
Ocean's Eleven
The plan is set.  The rules are clear.  If all goes right for Danny Ocean's grifters, the payoff is $150 million.  Divided by 11.  You do the math.

The skill of Academy Award®-winning* director Steven Soderbergh combines with enough starpower to light up the Las Vegas strip in this classy caper.  George Clooney plays Danny, defying the odds in a split-second heist of three Vegas casinos – all owned by a magnate (Andy Garcia) who is dating Danny's ex-wife (Julia Roberts).  A fixer (Brad Pitt), a pickpocket (Matt Damon), a blackjack dealer (Bernie Mac), a flimflammer (Carl Reiner) and others in well-defined roles are with Danny.  Are you in or out?

*2000: Best Director for Traffic

But $160 million doesn't go as far as it used to. Not with everyone spending like sailors on leave. Not with Vegas big-shot Terry Benedict out to recover his dough. And not with a mysterious someone stalking Danny and crew. It's time to pull off another stunner of a plan – or plans. With locations including Amsterdam, Paris and Rome, the direction of Steven Soderbergh and the original cast plus Catherine Zeta-Jones and others, Twelve is your lucky number.

Your mission should you decide to accept it: hang on for the "wildest ride of the year!" (Stephen Holden, The New York Times).

Now there we find some great titles in this package!
Sadly no E.T. again    :hysterical:

But even without this little bugger your absence from horror should now feel dramatically shorter.
My recommendations here:

1. Million Dollar Baby (5/5)
2. Kiss of the Dragon (4.5/5)
3. Runaway Jury (4.5/5)
4. The Replacement Killers (4/5)
5. National Security (3.5/5)
6. Training Day (4.5/5)
7. Changing Lanes (4.5/5)
8. Intolerable Cruelty (3/5)
9. Mission: Impossible (both of them are great)
10. Ocean's 11 (and 12) (both of these are great too)

I'm still not sure if I like "Troy", possibly I have to re-watch it.

Seems like the list was too big and got cut off... here is the rest!

But when the relationship takes a sudden and tragic turn, the Fowlers are forced to confront the harsh reality of their situation and the inescapable consequences of their actions.

An uncommonly suspenseful and disturbing film powered by a remarkable cast, IN THE BEDROOM has been hailed by critics everywhere as one of the year's finest motion pictures.

*2001
**Best Actress, Coal Miner's Daughter 1980
†Best Supporting Actress, My Cousin Vinny 1992
View from the Top
Academy Award®-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow (Shakespeare In Love, Best Actress, 1998; Shallow Hal) stars in this hilarious comedy hit about a small-town girl who's about to get a taste of the big-time world! No one thought Donna (Paltrow) would go very far. But when she sets her sights on becoming a first-class international flight attendant, Donna throws caution to the wind and takes off in pursuit of her dream! The ride is anything but smooth, however, and Donna's laugh-packed journey of a lifetime is rocked by more turbulence than she bargained for! Also starring Christina Applegate (TV's Married With Children), Rob Lowe (Austin Powers trilogy, Tommy Boy), Kelly Preston (What A Girl Wants, Jerry Maguire) and Candice Bergen (Sweet Home Alabama, Miss Congeniality), this charmingly funny treat will send your spirits soaring!
The Island of Dr. Moreau
On a remote island in the South Pacific, Dr. Moreau has used the key of science to unlock the gates of hell... Val Kilmer ('Heat', 'Batman Forever', 'The Ghost and the Darkness'), David Thewlis ('Dragonheart'), Fairuza Balk ('The Craft') and Academy Award®-winner Marlon Brando (Best Actor, 'The Godfather' 1972) star in this fantastic sci-fi thriller based on the best-selling novel by H.G. Wells. Stan Winston’s Creature Workshop ('Jurassic Park') creates frighteningly real special effects.

Dr. Moreau is a brilliant genetics on the brink of superseding evolution. When a U.N. diplomat visits Moreau's island laboratory, he uncovers fantastic but brutal experiments turning animal life forms into human-like beasts. As Moreau and his assistant race towards their barbaric goal of creating the perfect life form—the beasts revolt—threatening not only the island but ultimately all mankind!
Trial and Error
Charles Tuttle (Jeff Daniels, Dumb & Dumber, Pleasantville) is a mild-mannered, big-city attorney, sent to a small desert town a few days before his wedding to defend a cry-baby con artist (Rip Torn, Men in Black). He arrives to find his high-strung best friend, Richard (Michael Richards, "Seinfeld"), an out-of-work actor, brewing up a bachelor party blast that soon turns Charles' brilliant legal mind into jello. Trying to do the groom-to-be a favor, Richard pretends he's Charles and goes to trial, giving the performance of his career while turning the courtroom upside down. Meanwhile, Charles finds romance in the arms of a beautiful waitress (Charlize Theron, Devil's Advocate, The Astronaut's Wife), who proves to him that there is no law against falling in love.
A Man Apart
When they took his love...they took his life. Now, he's out to get it back. Vin Diesel (XXX, The Fast and the Furious) explodes as volatile DEA agent Sean Vetter, a former LA gang member whose street smarts have made him the ideal undercover narcotics officer. Together with partner Demetrius Hicks (Larenz Tate, Biker Boyz), Vetter succeeds in taking down the Mexican cartel's top drug lord. A ruthless new trafficker named Diablo takes control of the cocaine empire. To signal his arrival, he orders a hit on Vetter. Though the agent narrowly escapes with his life, his beautiful wife (Jacqueline Obradors, TV's "NYPD Blue") is killed in the crossfire. Vowing revenge, Vetter strikes a deal for information on the elusive Diablo and sets out to deliver his own harsh brand of street justice in this taut, action packed thriller.
Derailed
Married man Charles Schine (Clive Owen) meets Lucinda Harris (Jennifer Aniston), a high powered businesswoman, on a commuter train one morning. An innocent conversation leads to an evening drink. Before either one can stop it, their aroused passions lead to a sizzling one-night stand. Suddenly a stranger explodes into their world, threatening to expose their secret, and lures them into a terrifying game with more surprises than they saw coming.

Plus she said she has a little something in the box for Brittany... but it is a surprise. So sorry Britt... not going to be that easy to find out!!!

As I said earlier... I am really looking forward to seeing the episodes of Kung Fu again! But I was just looking at the profile for season 1. Is DVD Profiler just wrong... or did they mess up the release of the first season!?!?! According to the profile season 1 is 1.78:1 Animorphic Widescreen!?!? On a TV series from the '70s!?! that is definitely not OAR!

Please tell me that the profile is wrong... and if it isn't... how could the studio mess this up so badly?

Of course I will still enjoy watching it... just boggles the mind they could have done this.

Well she just PMed me to let me know the DVDs are on the way... and she told me she was able to fit one more into the box...

The Wicker Man
"We're different here." Policeman Edward Malus doesn't know just how terrifyingly different the people of Summersisle are, but he will. He's come to the private island to find a missing child. And each step of his search draws him deeper into a web of pagan ritual and deadly deceit — and closer to The Wicker Man.

Nicolas Cage plays Malus, Ellen Burstyn portrays the eerie matriarch Sister Summersisle, and Neil LaBute writes and directs this shattering tale of an unspeakable horror. Weary and increasingly on edge, Malus faces a defiant, unfamiliar world where his badge and gun mean nothing...and his presence on the isle means everything. It is the Day of Death and Rebirth on Summersisle. No one can escape.

Another one for my Horror Marathon! Is it October yet? :P

Wow. Again.  :slaphead:

Some really interesting titles in there. Changing Lanes is good, if you take it for what it is, which is a simple moral tale, very well told. And In The Bedroom is marvellous and brilliant, but you need to take a good run at it, Pete. It's a slow moving drama that makes a very bold move in the final act.

I must watch that again. Oh, hold on. I can't because some swine kept it when I let it them. >:( Along with my Battle Royale too... :weep:
