Nintendo? What's that?  The video game I remember playing was Pac Man and that was almost as tall as I am!

I'm a RPG fan and the Sega consoles didn't had a lot of them. Except for the Phantasy Star franchise I can't think of any other...

For me it was Galaxian, the first arcade game in color and an exiting one. As a kid I've done a lot of work around the house to got those 25 cents

Now that's an ugly game, not Pacman but the Atari conversion... Miss Pacman was done better if I remember well.

Hmm, there was a very good Megadrive RPG called Rings of Power, I never met anyone who completed it! Id recommend it though! (strangely it was created my the company Naughty Dog, known for making Crash Bandicoot.)

Oh yes, it is a horrible looking game! but then I think alot of the 2600 conversions were horrible :p

For Atari games many Activision title were good looking : Keystone Keepers (my all time favorite game on the Atari), Chopper Command, Decathlon, Pitfall, Pitfall 2, ...

Joust and Asteroid weren't bad also, not awesome but better than most of the games published by Atari themselves.

Speaking of Pac-Man, my laundromat has a sit-down Pac-Man machine in it.  They took out the jukebox and put this in its place.  Actually, the cabinet says Pac-Man but the actual game you play is Ms. Pac-Man.  This is one of those where they souped up the speed and the character actually moves too fast for my liking...it's hard to control it goes so fast.  But I still enjoy playing it.

oh no.. I hope that's not a sign of things to come!

I was playing Fallout 3 (just started a new game, I'm at level 4, just got to Arefu on my way to Minefield... but I'm actually trying to find Paradise Falls) and the game froze!

Last time this happened, my Xbox was gone with the Red Ring of Death just a few short days later.. I thought they fixed that with the new Xbox models??

Argh... now where did I put that invoice? ....

I enjoy video games but I've never played online.  I guess I prefer either playing by myself or with someone next to me on that rare occasion I get my brother or nephew to play with me.
While I occasionally enjoy an online match, I agree that it's much better to play with someone sitting on the same sofa, preferably co-op.

The only type of online gaming I like is MMORPG stuff like WoW. When it comes to consoles I agree with Achim, much better to be in the same room as the person.

:hysterical:

I guess it depends on the game, too. I enjoy the online stiff that's co-op (some of Burnout Paradise or Uncharted 2 modes or LittleBigPlanet mostly) more than the competitive. Although stuff like "Team Deathmatch" can be great fun, like in Call of Juarez, where some modes where objectives based (one team tries to achieve a goal and the other must stop them).

However, occasionally a pure deathmatch can be fun too.

So, today I got the new PS3 "Slim" :yahoo:

I already tested and confirmed that I cannot get to my data from my old disc :weep: So, I decided to simply install the old disc and put the system on it, therefore erasing the old data forever.

I found that I have a backup created on September 04, 2009. I was seriously wondering whether I should restore it at all or if I should take the "opportunity" and start from fresh all together. :hmmmm: The two main games that I am sad to have lost the data of were purchased after September 4, so the backup does not help here. There is a few other smaller games that will be a bit annoying to get back to the place where I have been before, but nothing serious, really. I did however decide to restore (running right now) as I thought it will immensely cut down on download time during the weekend and also all my settings will be recovered.

I could still kick myself for not doing a backup when I thought about it 10 days ago :slaphead:

It's up and running by now. Re-downloading all the games I purchased before.

While setting up I also encountered a DNS error. Quickly found that I hadn't set up my router to allow the new divice to use the nets and I even had the requested IP wrong :bag: A quick fix, obviously.
