It's not on YouTube.. It not even a video, it's a flash animation.. But I found it funny and in the spirit of this thread. Enjoy ;)

Nice to see this recognised on an "international" level! I watched it on BBC the other night. You really should try and find a version with the commentators, one of which was Willie "Mr. Maximum" Thorne. Very knowledgeable and it was great to hear their excitement. They spotted that Ronnie was looking at a maximum very early on.

It's been an incredible tournament. The day after Ronnie did that, pocketing £160000 for it, Ali Carter also did a 147, nicking half of the prize! Today, not only having set a new record for number of maximums in competitive play (9), Ronnie beat Stephen Hendry 17-6, who said after that it was the best he'd ever played against. Ali Carter vs. Joe Perry is yet to be decided, but good as they are, I can't see either of them denting Ronnie's current form for the final on Sunday. When the mardy bugger's head is in the right place, he is untouchable.

A friend of mine is currently in Sheffield and he has tickets for the semi-finals where he will see Ronnie live.

I bet it's great to see live. But I once went past The Crucible and a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss! ???

Once upon a time Najjers ventured on a journey.

His journey took him to many glorious places.  One of which was through the fabled city of Sheffield in the land of South Yorkshire.

His exploration of the legendary Steel City took him to once magnificent ediface, called The Crucible.
The Crucible......home of many titanic feuds. Gladiatorial combat. mano-y-mano. The forces of Light and Darkness battling on the green baize.  Clashes the likes of which, even the Gods themselves feared.

But to the weary eyes of our traveller the building looked as though it was in need of the attention of a master craftsman and the mythical Sandtex masonary paint.

Maybe this will help, without any helpimng devices, just my guess:

RossRoy once walked by the building called "The Crucible" which is located in Sheffield and the place where the pool tournament takes place. The building appeared to be a little run down and therefore could use a paint job in order to get back into shape.

If my guess is wrong, I also want to know what you meant, Jon. (Karsten is confused what you meant too, just expressed in a slightly different manner...)

Edit:
I'll have to type faster in the future...

 :hysterical:

Bloody brilliant! Absolutely spot on. For years I have watched the World Snooker Championship and they always go on and on about the wonderful venue and how it's the best in the world. I hope it's better inside, because when I saw it, I would have classed it architecturally mid to late 70s "shit-hole"...

Sheffield as a hole is not a shit-whole... whold on... I've got me "holes" and "wholes" mixed up. And I tell you, you never want to get your holes confused. Ahem. :-[

Sheffield is a great city. Apart from the outside of The Crucible. :P

Points awarded for great posts.

Yesterday during the first half of the final, there was an interview with the Crucible staff about how they are going to renovate the place this year!  :P

Meanwhile, I thought you might like this: Ali Carter 147

When it finishes, there are links to other 147s including the very first one with Cliff Thorburn in 1983.
