I know what you mean... I think that is part of my problem... I don't want to stand there wasting loads of time frantically searching through a whole mess like that. So normally if I don't see something good right away I leave.

The wife and I often look through the bin at our local WM and we usually leave it in a better state than when we got there. But I do recall one time that we had neatly stacked most of the bin, all the way to the bottom, and as we walked away, an associate hurried over and knocked it all back to it's previous state, saying rather loudly, "I wish people would stop cleaning this bin up."

So now we make a point of cleaning it up whenever we have time, just to crap on their day.

I don't know why... but some people like to search through a bin like that. I personally prefer nice clean racks that you can actually see what is there with a glance.

Me too. I dread going through the bargain bin, unless I happen to be the first right after they roll it out

My Mother-in-Law took me and Brittany (my daughter) to Walmart today... she wanted to help get some of her School Clothes this year. Always grateful for that! Anyway... while there... my daughter (she is as bad as me!) went looking through that bargain bin... and got her Grandmother to buy her a couple movies... she got...

I think the stores want them to look that way because it gives the impression of a better deal.  When people see the bins all messed up, there's an unconscious thinking that "If they didn't bother placing them it's because they want to get rid of them asap so they must be good deals."

That said, I think that "Time" is highly overrated, people all over the world keep saying they won't waste time doing this or that but what good is time if you don't use it to live your life........digging in dvd bins IS fun, it's something you do for yourself, aren't people worth some of their own time ?

I wouldn't mind wasting the time if they had more in there that I am actually interested in... usually when I do look through it... it is either stuff I have no interest in... or stuff I have had already for years. Though every once in a while I will find a winner in there.

I have found some gems in the bins but it does get frustrating doing all that digging. And I've noticed that my local WM only seems to put the truly dreadful in the bin, usually the public domain compilations and straight to DVD three-quels.

Also, since my last post, the bin at my Wal-Mart is neatly stacked and very hard to dig in, so I suppose a messy bin is the best.

I know nothing about WM bins because I'd refuse to give them my money even if my life depended on it.  I'm a Future Shop bins digger......maybe they're more entertaining than WM's

Unfortunately, being firmly reared and forever stuck in the southern U.S., I can't get away from Wal-Mart. Even worked for them once, in the HQ and in a distribution warehouse, in Bentonville.

And since the podunk town where I live in grimy Arkansas only has a Wal-Mart now, I find myself further restricted. I try to leave but I keep getting pulled back when the sun goes down.

And I find that when I do get away, to larger cities, I can never find what I'm looking for at Target.

I spend thousands of dollars at Wally World every year. At least $300.00 per week. Add to that a $500.00 trip every two months to Sam's club and the Walmart Corporation gets over $18,000.00 from me every freggin year. 

No matter how much I hate going there their overall prices simply cannot be beat.

I prefer Target and do have a couple of those near me. I go there when I need a change but for the weekly power shopping it's Wal*Mart. I do make sure to get to Target at least every couple of weeks. Their unadvertised DVD sales are really hard to beat. Right now they have Nip Tuck seasons 1 through 3 for $14.99 each (at least that is what I was told - haven't made the trip yet to confirm and buy)

As far as the bargain bin go I used to pick through them. Haven't done it in almost a year now. My DVD Buying has slowed a lot and I only get something I know will be watched by myself (or the wife) right away. Most of the stuff in the bargain bin is stuff that would be nice to add but is not needed.Fact is I sold a bunch of my bargain bin titles earlier in the year, some never having been opened.

I will be on the lookout for Popeye though. Silly, stupid movie but I loved Robin Williams as Popeye. He was perfect. Shelley Duvall made the perfect Olive Oil as well. (big Popeye fan as a kid)

I had to go to Walmart today... so naturally I had to check out the DVDs... I ended up getting...

- Disturbia
- The Running Man: 2 Disc Special Edition

I been wanting to check out Disturbia every since I first saw the trailer for it... hopefully I won't be disappointed. I haven't seen The Running Man in years... not since I was a teen... hopefully it will be as good as I remember it. The Running Man was in the $5 Bargain Bin... normally I won't even look in there... because I hate sifting through the mess... but The Running Man was right on top... and spotted it just walking by... so I sifted a little to see nothing else of interest for me.

I have a confession to make; I went to Walmart and bought several DVDs.

They had a lot of Stephen King's movies on sale for $5, including 2-Disc Special Editions, and I couldn't resist. It's all Pete's fault; he made me add these movies to my wish. now owned, list!

I went to Walmart this evening... and I found that same sale that Roger told me he was strong enough to resist... but I was not as strong... matter of fact... I was weak! Each movie was only $5.00! I ended up getting...


Bringing Out The Dead

This one was a complete blind buy for me... but I love Patricia Arquette in Medium... and I always liked Nicolas Cage... plus Martin Scorsese directing it... I feel pretty safe with this purchase. Especially for only $5.00!


Club Dread

Filled with sidesplitting humor, scary slasher scenes, and plenty of bikini-clad babes, Broken Lizard’s Club Dread is a comedy to die for!

This one is a horror-comedy... and I definitely enjoy those... I don't really remember this movie... but I do think I caught it on cable late night one night... if it is the one I am thinking.

This one is a complete blind buy... I never even heard of this movie! but I really enjoy werewolf movies... and it sounds like it could be good... so figured I would chance it.

So began Edward's fantastical adventures in a pastel paradise known as Suburbia.

This is one I know I saw... but it has been many years since I saw it! The last time I saw this movie... I watched it with my wife (it is one of her favorites)... and she passed away almost 12 years ago now. So obviously I barely remember this movie. but I am looking forward to seeing it again! Especially since a good friend of mine reminded me that the Late, great Vincent Price is in this... which was his last ever role.


The Relic

This is another one I believe I have seen years ago... if it is the one I am thinking... though I am not 100% sure.  Either way... it sounds like it could be pretty good.
