Oh the memories! Didn't realize I still remembered it so well!

While I'm waiting for my Xbox to get back, I'm rediscovering Day of the Tentacle! I could still recite all the text along with the intro movie! hahaha Even just that introduction movie is worth the game! hehe ;)

I'm finally back on the grid!!  :yahoo:

Console was manufactured in May-2008.. Don't know if it means anything. Maybe I should be scared.. What if it had already Red Ringed and it's refurbished?? Though I've heard they ship out new consoles in Canada and no refurbished... oh well, as long as it works, I'm happy!! ;)

Glad you got it back. :)

If it was manufactured in May of 2008, then it should have that newer processor thing you talked about shouldn't it?

Damn! I'm feeling like I'm in an American Soap opera! It just won't end! ::)

As you all know, I received my replacement Xbox last Thursday. I was really happy, started playing, no problem at all.

Saturday. My sister is over for dinner with the family. I tell them I got my Xbox back, so of course, they decide they want to play Rock Band. So, we move the Xbox upstairs, get all set up.  We take a gander at the new songs I bought since the last time, they spot one they'd like to play, we start.... and bam! The game says "Music content not available". What the? It worked when the Xbox was downstairs.. So we try a second song... and a third... nothing. None of the downloaded songs work. So we ended up playing with a selection of 84 songs (only the on-disc Rock Band 2 content)... instead of the usual 313 I have (Rock Band 1 exports and all the Downloaded Content I bought).

After my sister left, I went back downstairs, plugged the Xbox back in... lo-behold it all works again! And then it dawns on me... When the Xbox is downstairs, I am online on Xbox LIVE... when it's upstairs, I have no way to put it online. So I tried. I unplugged the network cable, and turned on the Xbox again. Exactly as I thought - the content licences were not transferred to my new Xbox !!

So another call to 1-800-4MYXBOX. I chose the "console" option, since I had just gone through the exchange. I spoke to a very nice girl, I explained the problem, and she said I had to go through the LIVE support department for that. But, instead of just hanging up and telling to call back, she create the support ticket, asked all the relevant information, put me on hold while she explained the situation to the LIVE support guy, and then transferred me. So I speak with the LIVE support guy, he makes me try a few things, give him some information about the console (serial # and console id). He said I have to speak to the Content Supervisor or whatever. Anyway, so he too explained the situation to the other guy, then transferred me. He checked my account, asked me my gamertag, and told me they have to transfer the licences manually, and that it would take 3-10 days.

So at that point, I thought - Ok, if the transfer takes 3-10 days, I understand why they didn't do it, and maybe it just hadn't gone through yet.

So last night, just for kicks, I deleted a few of the downloaded content, redownloaded it (which I would have to do anyway once the licences are transferred) and tested offline - IT WORKED!!

So 3-10 days, became 2 days  :yahoo:

So I'm all set. It's quite a hassle to have to redownload 2 years of bought content just to reactivate it - especially since we're talking a few GB's worth and the only way to actually do it is to redownload each item individually from the download history (which includes EVERYTHING I've ever downloaded - not just what I bought).

At least they've increased the download queue from 5 items to 30  ::)

Glad they got that straightened out for you even though it will be time consuming for you to download all that stuff again.

I got to level 72 for my latest accomplishment.  lol.  But at least I'm still making progress.

Just wondering, but why didn't you just play downstairs instead of taking everyting elsewhere in the house?

Not enough room for seven people + plastic instruments in the basement where the TV is.
