It looks like we will loose some of you for some time...

Unless you're not like me. When I buy a new game, I've no time for anything but it

When I was younger I remember playing game like Ogre Battle or Uncharted Waters : New Horizon for hours with no break even for eating. The worst or the best (it's depend of the point of view), when I've bought nhl94 me and my brother played more than 24 hours non stop ... Not something that I will do again (I've almost 38 years old), but this is some great memory...

Not really. Usually, when I get a new game, I will play it a full evening, yes, but after that I get back to normal play patterns (about 1-2 hours here and there).

Unless it completely grabs me, like Rock Band did. I just can't control it once I start playing. I keep saying "1 more song"

I'll probably spend a good chunk of the day with it tomorrow, but after that I should also get back to normal.

GTA IV = Not quite gaming genius, but pretty damn close!

The biggest new feature so far that I love: The phone! Finally, I can call up girlfriends and arrange dates instead of just shiwing up at the door hoping she's there. You also receive missions through the phone, which is nice!

The thing that irks me most: The new physics. I may grow to like them, but as it stands, I find them more annoying than anything. But it's probably mostly because there are maneuvers I could do with the cars in previous GTAs that I can't do now. And it seems like the cars are just floating over the road. So far, I find the handbrake completely useless, as the car now just skids completely out of control.

But all in all, once I get used to the new physics, I'm sure it'll be gaming bliss!

I guess my advantage in the physics case is, that I don't know any previous GTA game, so there is no adjustment necessary to me.

Well, I've clocked in more time with the game and I'm already getting more used to the new physics. I still find it hard to get around tight corners, especially if there happens to be a cop car in the way.....

.... which bring me to another new feature I love ....

Cop chases! No just just finding the nearest spray shop to get away. Now, you have to work for it! There's a circle that appears on the map and you have to get out of it without being seen by another cop. Makes for some really interesting chases!

Oh and I was watching TV (yes, you can watch TV in GTA IV) and there was a stand up comedy show on. And it was Ricky Gervais!

I read somewhere that there is a comedy club somewhere in the city (which I found a COOL feature, btw, that they supplied a city map with the game ) where Ricky actually performs live.

There also appears to be a working Internet!

In previous games, one way to get away from the cops was to race to the nearest Pay'n'Spray and get the car resprayed and repaired, which would make the cops not recognize you anymore. In IV, you can still do it, but you have to enter the shop without the cops seeing you. Which makes a LOT more sense!

As for the guns and ammo shop, that would Ammunation, but I haven't seen one yet.

I haven't found the comedy club with Ricky Gervais, but there is one not too far from the first safehouse with completely hilarious, but dumb, comedy sketches. I like that they added this! There's even a strip club! (and I got kicked out oh about 10 seconds after getting in  )

haven't seen any of the spray shops yet, but will look out for them! So far I have found that switching to a low level profile may help to escape the cops. LOL, one time they nearly took me out like I was Bonnie and Clyde

Me neither. heck, I don't have a gun yet... I had been caught by the cops, so they even took away the knife; I instantly reverted to a saved game

So there'll be more safe houses Interesting. ... I am not sure I have comedy clubs on my map yet. But I took my date to the Cabaret Club once; saw that magic show with the floating lady..

Strip Club is on my to do list... Got drunk once and it was rather interesting what they did with that situation... After continuously getting caught by the sheriffs I ended up walking home

Aahhh, Liberty City. There seems to be so much to try and do. Even without guns and money... (will have to complete a few missions for that, I guess). So far it is a fun experience. I agree on the weird behavior of the cars though; especially during turns around corners... I own Burnout: Paradise City and that one has really awesome car physics. Insult to injury is that the brake button is a different one to Burnout which often makes me fail to brake properly; may want to remap that, I guess.

I found Ramon, for example, can be rather annoying and keep calling back every two minutes... The first real mission (Bleed Dry or so) had me in a loop that I just couldn't get out of. I just failed to be able to stay close enough to the guy we were chasing to find out where was going in the critical moment. I eventually had to look for a walkthrough online to find out how to complete that mission (BTW, I am sure you know gta4.tv?).

I found in the mobile phone options, that you can even turn off all mission calls (for a while) and just enjoy life during that time more undisturbed.

You don't have to search for the wallet. If they have money on them, once you kill them, it'll just float there. Walk to it, and Niko will pick it up.

What happened when I stole the cop car is that I was driving around and lost control of the car cornering, and crashed into another car. The driver got out of his car! So of course, I got out of mine. The other guy complained about his car and how much of an ass I was, and proceeded to beat the crap outta me! Thing is, the cops were right behind me. They turned on the lights, got out of their car and proceeded to try and arrest the guy. He jumped back in his car, and sped away. The cops turned around to go back to their car and give chase, just as I was stealing their car! They yelled something about me having to stop and started shooting at me! I got away, and found I was now the proud owner of a police approved standard issue shotgun (without only 5 bullets though).

I love that game!

The cops don't joke in this game. I'm sure that they are just another gang... at least it was my impression with "Vice City"

It's probably the same thing here. I'm just surprised that the option to bribe an officer has not yet made its way into GTA. (or maybe it's there, and I just haven't seen it).


Just thought of another funny incident that happened yesterday.

I was driving around at full speed, finally managing to somewhat keep control of the car, when I slammed head-on into a tree. I got so disoriented when the camera left the car that I was wondering what was going on. Guess what? Niko had been flung right out the window!
