Have you advanced yet? Not? Well, there is "guides" out there... I found them a few days ago at GTA4.TV. Admittedly, I used one of them already (I believe I may have mentioned it). Anyway, I saw that the mission you're stuck in has a guide there too... I don't feel there is shame in reading a guide ; only if you need to read all of them :-\

I'm doing it hardcore! Well, for the story missions anyway. Once I'm done with the story missions, I'll probably print out the maps and guides for the 100% completion.

But yes, I've advanced. Finally managed to finish the "Deconstruction for Beginners". Now I'm stuck on another mission, a little further. I won't say which, I don't want to spoil the story for anyone. But let's just say it's a good one, coming from Mallorie on the phone. But it's a tough one dammit!

I am not cut out for that. If I have to repeat a mission for more than 5 times I get nervous...

Mallorie? Unless you actually meant Michelle, then it's a character I actually haven't met yet

played a little yesterday (two missions) and planning to have a go at it this weekend (besides completing Marathon duties...).

Thanks for the link. Seems almost like that site is for spoilers only... :o But like I said, occasionally I'll need one. Then again, from now on I can just ask you. You are more advanced and rather than spoiling it flat out you could give hints only... :hmmmm:

Hummm... You should know who Mallorie is.. You meet her when you first get to Roman's Cab depot. She is Roman's girlfriend! And the receptionist at the cab depot

You're actually working towards the marathon itself? I've decided to let the marathon do itself through normal play and not think about it too much. One thing will be really hard to do for me though. I've still yet to be caught by the cops. They shot me to death a few times, but I never got arrested! Best part of it is: I get to keep the weapons! So I much prefer getting killed (even if that means killing myself), than getting caught by the cops.

I'll be happy to help you through without spoiling the story as much as possible.

And I don't know if I've mentioned it before, or if you even met the guy, but I can't understand a single word that comes out of Little Jacob's mouth! With his overly thick Jamaican accent, with subtitles to match!  :(

Maybe we oughta start a GTA-specific thread. This is getting further and further away from PC gaming

With Marathon I was referring to this.

What is that that will be really hard for you...? (:hmmmm: not sure that is coming out right)

Great tip! I got caught once or twice (or more) but recently started to reload the game then. Didn't know that getting killed will have you keep the guns. Will have to remember that. I like reloading though, as it keep the stats nicer (less "failed missions")

I also had to turn the subs on... It's still hard to follow as it's written in those matching subtitles, as you say, and you have to read while driving :slap:

Good suggestion!

Ahem...:

Dear Touti, would you please be so kind to open a dedicated thread for GTA IV and movie related posts over there. We would be very much obliged

My bad! I thought you were referring to the GTA marathon on Social Club

And the hard part I was referring to, is the 120 times arrested. SInce I don't want to be arrested and lose my weapons!

I don't mind much about the stats. But losing my weapons is a big no-no! Money I can get back. A few races, a few missions and you're back. But weapons? They're so expensive it's not even funny! (yet, it's not as bad as previous games. At least when you buy only ammo is cheaper).

I continue to play at Pac Man Kathy with a great emulator on my computer. I play a lot of game that I've played at a very young age at the arcade. Just to name few others : Robotron, Journey, Galaxian, Space Invaders, Joust (the only game where I've wrote my name at the first place  ;D),Bubble Bubble,...

Those one are a great visit to a time when it was less complicated (nothing is really complicated at 12 years old). At least I don't need to have my pocket full of quarter to play

Oooooh Pac-Man   This brings back a lot of memories!

But the one game I've played until my hands hurt: Pong, on the atari with the special paddles. Those were the days...

I also remember many nights lost of Super Mario Bros. It even came to a point where my Mom would hear the theme song in her sleep! Even when I was not playing!

OK not really a console game, but I've had so much fun with this. My father bought me an adaptor really fast, the game need four D battery and they were loosing their juice really fast.

An image of what the screen looks like. Yes, it was really hard for the eyes

Well, haven't tried again, but I thiknk I can still not access it... :(

So, they have a marathion that invoves getting arrested 120 times??? That part is actually easy to achieve  You couldl always use two sets of savegames; one of the online and one for your single player ;)

I already "cheated" to find the internet café. :bag: (One of those sites has a Google-like map for L.C.) Haven't found the ammo shop yet. Then again, I only have the guns since last time I played (which basically means I cannot accept any arrest anymore too; would always reload or get myself killed, like you).

I do not remember that particular game, but was there another game on C64 which used the same music? This music I remember quite well, but I don't remember which game it was I remember it from.

I wouldn't know if the song was use din other games, but Popcorn, especially the Hot Butter version played during Stage 7 was fairly famous during those days.

You may or may not have noticed that the song plays in vaious versions throughout the video, only the first and last level having the original arcade sound. here are all, as stated in the video note at YouTube:
Stage 1 - Arcade Game Version
Stage 2 - The M&H Band
Stage 3 - Fiddler's Green
Stage 4 - Hot Butter
Stage 5 - Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra
Stage 6 - Denki Groove
Stage 7 - Hot butter
Stage 8 - Arcade Game Version

How about 79 different versions?

http://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2007/03/79_versions_of_.html

Or why not a whole site dedicated to one song?
