Has the director made any other films?

Has any of those films won any awards?

What is the answer? Just kidding!

Tch. Free hint, I suppose ...

The film is a satire of film making, with the lead character determined to make a particular film. He quotes the title several times, but that is as much as we learn about it. In the end, he never makes it.

In quiet tribute to this classic movie, the fake title was eventually used a couple of times, most famously just a few years ago. This latter film also followed some plot points from the earlier one.

Does the title of this film have anything to do with dusk over a wide tree lined street?

Not that I can think of!

By the way, consider my previous massive hint. And think about where I might have left a clue to that part of the answer. Huge, massive, in your face, give it away clue!

Look you obviously need help!  :hmmmm:

Earlier I gave a clue saying that a recent film used the fake movie-within-a-movie title employed in this mystery film. Go and look at the screencap game; the last image I posted is from that recent film!  :suicide:
