Get on the beat with a new hit drama. Loaded with provocative banter and a talented cast “too appealing to resist,” says Glenn Garvin of the Miami Herald, Castle: The Complete First Season is can’t miss entertainment.
Rick Castle is a world-famous crime novelist whose stories come to life when a copycat killer follows his literary blueprint. Enlisted to help the NYPD stay a step ahead of the murderer, Castle realizes working with the police can also supply him with a slew of ideas for his next book. The relationship gets a little more complicated – and a whole lot more fun – when he is paired with the attractive Detective Beckett, who doesn’t appreciate Castle’s unorthodox style.
Experience every witty, suspense-filled moment of the original series in this 3-disc DVD collection. Packed with never-before-seen bonus features, including a behind-the-scenes peek at the cast, this addictive series is a killer on DVD!
I started watching this show because Nathan Fillion is in it. I probably would have eventually gotten around to watching it if someone else had the part of Castle, but I’m not sure I would have liked it as much. The mystery aspect of the show could be a bit stronger, though I still think the show is very entertaining. The show ends up being more humorous than most of the other police type shows currently on. Most of the humor comes from Castle and the various things he says and does. I love him in the part. The rest of the cast does well with their parts too. I love that Castle’s daughter Alexis doesn’t act like a brat. She probably is a bit too good to be true, but it works for the show.
The DVD set has some decent extras that are entertaining.
I did get a review posted on Epinions.
