I had a bit of a disapointment today.  I contacted them on their "Live Chat" to verify something.  Here's a transcript of the chat session.

Quote
Inetvideo: Hello, Thank you for Visiting inetvideo.com.  How may I assist you?

Me: Hello

Inetvideo: yes...how may I help you ?

Me: Las friday I was at cine-maison royal, the video store on the first floor under Inetvideo in Montreal....

Me: The cler there said that if I order with inetvideo I can pick up my dvd's in his store.

Me: I would like to confirm that and check how I can specify "pick up" when I place my orders

Inetvideo: yes you can pick-up if you want...you can let us know what the order # is when it's place and we will put it aside...but shipping charges will still apply

Me: I plan on ordering a list of DVD's that you don't currently have in stock.  If I request them and order them one at a time (as you find them), I'm gonna end up paying a lot in shipping.  I was hoping I could save on this by picking them up.

Me: Why would you charge for shipping if you don't actually ship ?

Me: well the way we work is that once you place a request, and we recieive the movie in stock...we send you an email saying it is now available for you to buy...then you must go to the website to place an order for it...we don't have a system setup for pick-up's and every order goes thru the same process which includes shipping costs

Me: I see.  I did that once with Inetvideo and I had to pay 3.95$ in shipping for a DVD that was 6.54$.  I'm afraid I'll have to look somewhere else to find my movies, I can't pay over 60% in shipping.  Thanks for your answers.

That's it.  I had quite a few movies I wanted them to find for me but in those conditions I'm not so sure anymore.

They charge you for shipping even if you will go to their store to pick up the movies??  :o That doesn't make any sense.

I'd guess they won't last long in this business...

Actually it's not really a store.  They only sell on internet but there is a store on the lower floor which apparently belongs to the same people.  What the girl says is that the system they're using automatically adds shipping to any order.

It's still a good place for rare and oop movies but if you're searching more than 1 then you may end-up paying a lot of shipping.

This place just got a little better.  They now have a web site for canadian customers with prices in canadian dollars.........and I'm sure it has nothing to do with canada's dollar being worth more than the us dollar ;) ;) ;).  They also have a mobile version of their web site.
