I don't want to criticise Invelos so I won't do it.

I did not intend that to be a criticism more of an observation - I did not intend it to come out that way. Invelos is a wonderful program (I wouldn't be HERE without it ;) and almost all of the contributers has helped me in one way or another.

Don't worry Kathy,  that was only a premise for the joke.  I've been quite critical of the rules and what's going on in the forums.

I'm not sure about you, but when I read "Listen up, you dumb bastard..." or terrible, offensive comments about Kathy's post on Lady Bird Johnson, I just don't feel like I'm having any fun within a community. I just see hateful comments, dragging their personal politics into a DVD site and having zero respect for any kind of opinion.
Up until now I did not read the Lady Bird topic because I do not know her at all.

But reading it, it confirms my opinion to not to talk about politics outside of politic forums.

I do love to talk about politics, but the discussion can get ugly and personal and therefore I do not discuss it with people with whom I discuss my favourite movie (or any other hobby for that matter) in another thread because these things tend to get mixed up.

I love to discuss politics also. I will agree to disagree but I NEVER let it get "ugly and personal" - I don't think it is necessary or contributes to an intellectual discussion or debate. But then...I'm perfect!

I try that, too and most of the time I am being rational and logical. But not everyone is as Spock-like as me. 8)

But as you've seen. You made a R.I.P. posting and the first answer was and under-the-belt-attack.

I can't remember where I heard this line but I like it: "You can't change others, you can only change the way you react to others".
