the subs default level was too high.
Quote from: Jon on June 02, 2008, 12:57:28 PMthe subs default level was too high.I have that problem with my system. The sub is adjusted to make so much noise, that I have to keep it on the minimum level, just above completely off, and I still find it overpowering. Guess I should move it elsewhere, but there's nowhere else I can put it in that room
Is it sitting on carpet or a bare floor? I noticed a big difference when I moved from a room with no carpet to a room with carpet. I had to turn it up on the carpeted room. If it's a bare floor perhaps a small piece of carpet would help. Also isolating it from the floor would help. Cut up a mopuse pad into smaller bits and put them under the feet of the sub. That may help.
My current one however has the speaker on the right side. I had put it in a corner to hide it but with that side speaker it made the walls reflect low frequencies even if the speaker wasn't pointing toward one.I had to move it to the middle of a wall to reduce the vibrations.
Makes sense. And the big sound cone is on the side, pointing straight at a wall.
I'm pretty sure your problem lies right there.
I've thought of a new game some of you with close neighbours could play; see who can get the highest number of complaints and reveal how loud you dared go to get them.

One sunday afternoon the people who live two floors above mine stood at my door and asked if I could watch with less volume. Their chinaware was trembling.I believe I was watching Master and Commander.
