When all was said and done, my wife and I were extremely lucky this time. We have friends all over Rhode Island who are without power right now, or are having trees cut off their damaged cars or houses.

We got less than 1/4 of an inch of rain, and we never lost power. I was out during the storm with a neighbor clearing fallen trees from the main roads in town. The only downside I can report is that after a few hours of using a chain saw, I severely strained my right bicep trying to restart it after refueling.

I am glad to hear that everyone is o.k.

While it is usually not a direct problem to me (other than not being allowed to go to work ) we occasianlly have realy strong typhoons here in Taiwan which can cause all kinds of havoc, expecially in the mountain area (landslides are all too common).
