I agree with you Michael - that is a long time. Although the computer was new, I got it on sale because that model was updated.
Sending it to Toshiba was the problem. They had it for close to a month, didn't repair anything and mailed it back so poorly packaged they broke the screen.
Once Office Depot got it back, it took 2 weeks to get the needed parts, fix it and mail it back to the store. I don't think they realized the one strip of keys was broken - I'm sure it was something else Toshiba broke when they had it.
Although Office Depot should have checked everything, that strip was fine when I had it and there was no mention of it needing repair in the work order.
They could have just fixed the problem but I would have been without the computer...again. The 3 year extended warranty starts from the day I got my new computer - something else they didn't have to do. So, I'm happy.
