So I started watching this on Saturday not knowing what to expect as I had never seen an episode and I'm now 14 episodes into Season 1 (the only season I own currently) and am really enjoying it. I've heard it goes downhill when Clooney leaves and then again when Edwards leaves. How much downhill does it go?
I should finish this season tomorrow and will then likely order S2.

I never saw any episodes when they originally aired, but many hospital personnel I worked with wouldn't miss them. I have seen quite a few since and I quite enjoy them. Although there are ebbs and flows with any long running series, I think you will quite enjoy the show.
You bringing this up reminds me of another TV series you might want to check out: St. Elsewhere.

That was a great show, except for its last season.

ER was ok..though the longer it was on, the less I watched it. I just got tired of a lot of what they kept doing.

So far I have watched the first 4 seasons and I am still really enjoying it. But at this point George Clooney is still on the show. I am so far behind collecting this series!

I own ten out of fifteen seasons but I've watched only 8 so far.
I liked most of the cast but I, too, have the feeling something is going to be missing with Greene gone. Hawthorne (Margulies), Greene (Edwards), Ross (Clooney), Carter (Wyle) & Benton (La Salle) were the base of the show and all of them went away at some point. Carter was the only one to survive the 8th season and that's why I never really bothered to continue.
I did watch the final two hours "And in the End...", though and really enjoyed it. When you watch it in combination with the pilot "24 Hours" one can see how they carefully arranged the story to mirror that pilot episode.

I actually thought it "came back" in it's last season. There were a few seasons toward the end where it floundered a bit. Once John Stamos joined the cast though I though it was better than it had been in years.
I watched the show faithfully from the 1st episode till the last.

I've seen it occasionally. It's got nothing on Casualty!
Seriously though, the episode where Carter and [

Never watched it when it was on TV
Then the best of all possible wifes borrowed Season 1 ... We are well into Season 13 now (3 months later) and are desperately waiting for the "Complete Series"-box.

Well nearly three years since I started this thread, I started watching season 4 a couple of days ago and so far it has been the strongest season. There was a great episode with Clooney and Edwards that wasn't even set in the hospital which was a great change. The one where Clooney's dad died drink driving in a crash that also killed a father of six.
